I'd be close to saying Sonic 3 & Knuckles... Although Sonic 3D Blast on Genesis just had AWESOME music so I'd go for that one as my #1. While the game wasn't great the music sure made up for it!!

It's a tossup between Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic CD for me.

Sonic 3D had great music. Sonic Adventure borrowed some of its tunes for Twinkle Park and Windy Valley. Sonic 1 had good music two. Green Hill Zone music, is probably the most memorable tune in Sonic games. But if I had to choose my favourite music from a game. It will be Sonic 2.

To be honest, I'm not the BIGGEST fan of the classic music. It had some good tunes, yeah, but not enough for any of them to be considered my favorite.

I'm more for Unleashed. Had a lot of amazing tracks. Rooftop Run Day, Skyscraper Scamper Day, Jungle Joyride, (both of them) Egg Dragoon, even the hub themes were really good. SA2's soundtrack was awesome as well. (yes, even Knuckles' stage music. Any objections are invalid, especially if it's from Blaire. :P ) Either one of those two or Sonic Advance 1 (I'm just biased towards Adv1's music because it was my first Sonic game lol) would probably be my personal favorite.

And Colors was pretty sweet, too.

I am sort of stuck as well between Sonic CD, Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 and Knuckles... I am not too sure what one I truly prefer I enjoy S2 a lot I guess but the other two have fantastic music as well.

I also loved Twinkle Park in Sonic Adventure.

Yet when I look into my Sonic soundtrack folder the only OST I have in there is from Sonic Heroes... that says a lot. XD

Good to be back
I loved the musical style the Rush series brought in; it was bouncy, yet up to date and catchy. Sonic Rush would be pretty high on my list, but then again I can hum almost any tune from Unleashed or Adventure 2. XD Although, thinking about it, Black Knight not only contained some fantastic music that wouldn't sound out of place in an epic adventure game, but also some of the classic themes of the playable characters, as well as badass remixes of "It Doesn't Matter" and "Believe in Myself".

I'd say Colors, Adventure, or Unleashed. They all had some pretty memorable tracks.

Trying to go with a theme this time
For me, its a close call between Sonic Rush and Sonic 06.

Rush, you got What you Need, Jeh Jeh Rocket, and Vela Nova
Sonic 06, you got Dreams of an Absolution, Crush 40's version of All Hail Shadow, and Crisis City

Close call, but i would have to go with Rush on this. I mean, the old-school sound mixed with modern beats, nothing beats it.

I'm torn between Sonic 3/Knuckles, CD, and 3D Blast. They all had good music, and oddly enough, all 3 have tons of different versions of their songs -- PC version and region versions. And pretty much every version had a good song. Like, I played S3&K on my PC, it had great music, but the music for the Genesis version was just as good.

I think that is what I like about CD and S3&K the fact they have so many different variations on their soundtracks it's just enjoyable to go through them and lose yourself in them.

I would also have to say that my favorite music in 3D Blast is Diamond Dust Zone.

For me it's a tie between Sonic 2 and Sonic Adventure 2, though the rest of the games have pretty awesome music too.
