I love Silver not for his powers or his looks. But because of who he is as a person. He's not perfect like a certain friend of his, but I like him the way he is. I did read an article (maybe on Sonic Wiki, don't know the source but I have seen it with my own two eyes) with someone from Sonic Team/Sega saying that they have seen the end of Silver... which means that this is his end and he will not be seen again. Also, putting him in Sonic Colors saying that Crisis City is now bright and everyone has a smile on their face. It means that he has saved his world and there's no reason for him to be in the present. I just want to know... why? I mean Knuckles' mystery has been solved many moons ago, Shadow's story has also be solved... I mean yo, THE GUY WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A ONE-HIT-WONDER! Miss Perfect already has her emeralds and her magic septor. But yet... we STILL see them. And I have a feeling we will be seeing that girl more. Anyways, if those 3 are allowed to stay, why can't Silver? Sure, Silver's from the future but he can come to the present to see what it's like and maybe take lessons from the present, to Crisis City. There's alot of ways Silver can work that doesn't involve Crisis City in major crisis. They can do a story on how he fights Eggman Nega... or something. Or Sonic and friends finding themselves in Silver's world and helping him battle Eggman Nega. Or a general story that doesn't involve Sonic and Co... and only people from his timeline (Marine, Gardon, Miss (not so) Perfect, Eggman Nega and Shadow can come to since he's ageless). The convenience that could be used to throw him away, instead can be used on some effort to develop his character more. Develop him as a hero and a person. Silver has many traits and in my opinion, has an unfair advantage over the other characters when it comes to these traits. Mostly because of his personality and his disposition about himself. Also being how young he mentally is. It's understandable for Silver to be a jerk in Rivals since he's really a young boy in a big man's world. He just wants to be as good as everyone else and develops a fake ego to mask his insecurities. Knuckles and Shadow being jerks is nothing new and Sonic doesn't really have a reason to be a jerk (except at Eggman). Also, Silver being a jerk is actually cute and can get a chuckle out of it in my opinion. Instead of Silver being clingy... make him a bit more independent, but in need of positive reinsurance once in a while. He can still deeply care for someone, which is a trait I loved about him because it shows that he is willing to put himself in harms way for the ones her cares about. Also, he shows concern for those in need... and is more personable. He is already humble and has a big heart... so there's not much I would want to change other than being a bit more independent. All in all... Silver was an awesome character in my opinion. And I would be sad is he were to be scrapped but I have a feeling he is.. because most people hate him for not being perfect

Not only that, but I don't think any hedgehogs are gonna get scrapped. I'm also gonna go with what else was said here, Silver already has a new voice actor. He may not appear in canon, but he certainly won't be scrapped.

I just don't see how he adds to the cast at all. I felt Silver's personality was a mix between Shadow and Tails. With those characters (for better or worse) already being a major part of the series, keeping silver around would be nothing but fan service for those who like him, and one could speculate that he would eventually become nothing but a Wesley. I think that SEGA needs to just let go of the '06 story arc and move on, and at the same time letting the Rush story arc die as well. No Silver, No Marine, No Blaze, No Eggman Nega. But that's just my opinion. flame away. I don't mind that some of these characters are being included in off beat games like Riders or other party-games. But as far as being in Major Sonic titles. I think we have enough of a supporting cast as it is, and if SEGA feels they MUST add more, I would prefer to see some oldies but goodies (Chaotix or the scrapped characters from Fighters) be resurrected instead of keeping up with Silver and Blaze.

Most of the characters in the universe are quite excessive (Not saying we don't need more than what was in the original: I do believe the cast can be properly expanded, but not with the characters that are right now present) and I consider Silver as one.

Muckshaw, you are very good at putting my thoughts down in a clear way that doesn't make you sound like a bad guy. I approve of what you said and I agree I am not a fan of Silver because he does come across as a very (if Shadow and Tails spliced their genes their genetic mutant baby would be Silver) irritating and he seems like a pointless addition. I think sega had such high hopes for Sonic 06 when they made all the new characters they thought they'd be beloved and embraced by the fans immediately sadly it doesn't work that way. :/ The Sonic Rush story line... it's a weird one really. I mean Eggman Nega seems a little excessive and over the top it makes more sense to have one main bad guy in this sort of series. Marine was just an irritating addition that I don't think will get carried on much further than that one game... right?

Silver is just another super strong male hedgehog who can morph into a super form, we honestly have enough of these. But no it doesn't make you a bad person, no one said that as far as I know anyway

He's kind of redundant on the good side, considering we already have a fast hedgehog there Problem with Silver and Blaze is that they are from another dimension/time or whatever, which makes it hard to write them into the plot in a believable and tolerable way.

The fact is that there are silver fans, and a lot of them, the kiddies like him, and the kiddies are the ones SEGA is aiming at. He probobly wont disappear, and I actually think he will appear in a main title again. He was obviously liked enough to come back in Rivals.
