On the first day of Christmas~

The boredom gave to me~

A sweet treat for you, S.B.!!


It's the most wonderful time of year, and Bliz and I bring SB some holiday cheer shenanigans! The SB Christmas Tree Project!

What is the project, you say? Well, it's only the most totally jolly thing ever! ...Sort of. The SBCTP is just a small community event that will gather as many members into the holiday spirit as possible. It's really simple. I'm going to paint a tree. A nekkid Christmas Tree. It's you all's job to decorate it! But how?

It's simples! Click/open this gift!



You see that? That is the makings of a bulb ornament. All you have to do is decorate it yourself, or send me an image you want to use in it, and I'll do all the fancy stuff. Once I get your submission, I'll throw it on the tree!

See all that? The more people who participate, the more special effects I'll add to the tree! (After all, a tree with just bulbs isn't fun, yeah?)

I know what you're thinking. What does that random, cute character have to do with anything? Well, here's where you guys come in doubly! Submit an ornament and have a colored, christmas-themed chibi of one of your characters placed near the tree! That's right! I ain't lyin'!

It's our gift to you, just for being super awesome. The chibies will be assigned a spot and action in the order that their owners give their bulbs! The earlier you submit, the more front and center your charrie will be!



And finally the Down and Dirty, Nitty Gritty...

Please submit your designs via PM to me, and do not shrink the size of the template. Also include an image of the character you want us to include, but remember we may jollify them a bit (unless you tell us not to, of course).

Template and Submission Tips

 

• 
  
• On the template above, draw in the small circle as if you were drawing on the face of one of these. You don't have to just make a pattern. It can be an image, Christmas related, Sonic related, or a mix of both, or whatever.
  
• The Designable Area of the template is actually transparent for all you advanced art program users. You should save the file and then open it in your program, rather than copypasta it directly. from there, just add your design on a layer beneath the template.
  
• If you'd rather not deal with saving or transparency, this is the same template with a white background.
  
• I will touch up your submission as needed, so if you can't anti-alias around the edges of the bulb, don't worry. 83 just place your design as well as you can.
  
• Don't worry about making your image appear spherical.
  
• If you'd rather not work with the template, make sure your image is within a 600x600 pixel space (Circle or Square), no larger or smaller.
  
• If you send in just a 600x600, square image, I will crop a circle out of the center.

Rules

 

• 
  
• Please remember that all images must abide by SB content rules.
  
• Please do not submit over-personal designs.
  
• No fan characters in your bulb designs. Like Bliz said: having characters on ornaments and as chibis is kinda too much.
  
• The ornaments will be much smaller than they appear on the template (Though I will make a gallery of the original-sized images. Even so, remember not to make your ornaments too detailed. The big picture is to show a pretty SB scene!)
  
• Bliz has offered to do "couple" pictures, so if anyone wants their character doing something with another person's character, make sure both people coordinate their ornament giving at the same time, as well as tell me what they want their characters doing. << Nothing above PG-13, of course.
  
• I or Bliz may return an ornament design if it is too sloppy. This includes submitting something on lined paper, or just submitting an untidy sketch. Hey, we're putting effort into this. If you want to participate, you should too! And, yes, we know the difference between a less-skilled artist and a sloppy one, so don't go bawwing all over the place if we send something back. You won't lose your spot if you resubmit within seven days (or at least show some progress by then).

Even though I'm the official chibi artist for this thing, I'm gonna try to get a decent bulb design in as well-- Yanno, get in line with the spirit of things! But Photoshop's pen tool...it burnz. Seriously, I need Illustrator. 8(

Anyhoo, before any artist's lament tangents, I want to put it out there that you can also PM your characters to me once you're done with your bulbs. I want to get started on them as quickly as possible so I don't get severely backed up and start crying. <3
