Well...we know almost nothing about the black holes in space, and black holes are negative, attracting, energy. Do you think that maybe...just maybe...on the other side of those black holes, or somewhere else in space, there are WHITE holes? With energy thats repelling instead of attracting? With positive energy? It's just a deep thought of mine. Please post back so we can bounce some ideas.

Character Select Posts: 6 Group: E Rank Adventurer Member #11,605 Joined: November 28, 2010	I think it's actually a genuinely accepted idea that 'white holes' exist, but on such a small scale, they're insignificant. Everything that goes into a black hole needs to come OUT somewhere, right? So a White Hole would be a giant hole where stuff comes out, rather than being sucked in. Of course, 'White' hole doesn't fit. Black Holes are black because no light can reflect off it and come to our eyes, the force is too strong. With a white hole, the light wouldn't be able to touch the hole in the first place, being pushed away with so much force. It'd be invisible, I think.

It's sad but whether or not you don't get crushed in "transfer" the eventual outcome would be the same.

Black hole theories generally point to whatever being pulled in either being spit out intact or being spit out after horrible warping. Either way, light travels at a constant speed, so I suppose it would be neither white nor invisible. Though I'm not educated well on this, but my view of it. Coo.

I am not someone who ponders about space but if everything has an opposite then I am sure it is theoretically probable. Although the purpose of a white hole seems a bit odd - sucking up what the black whole sucks up? It seems a bit redundant though does it not?

It is thought that a black hole will continue to take in everything it nears (The DO move!) until it reaches a certain limit. At said point, it would release all of the matter and energy in a massive explosion. (With this in mind, some think the Big Bang was caused by an exceedingly large black hole.) Not much proof to go on. I just remember hearing that particular theory while watching the Science Channel. Also, if wormholes do exist, it is thought that both ends still behave like black holes and crush anything they absorb, so the only way through from one end to the other would be a powerful anti-gravity field surrounding the object going through. (Btw, if the wormhole theory is true at all, time travel may be possible. By "dragging" one end of the wormhole in an anti-gravity field around it at near-relativistic speeds, it should be possible to de-sync them while keeping them linked. One in the future, one in the present... Or something like that, be hard and tedious as hell to do even if we had the tech.)

The idea of the black hole exploding and releasing everything from it that it swallowed up that is quite a freaky idea really. But then I have a question regarding this theory let's say this cosmos came into being because of a black hole exploding - does that mean then that we are basically a recycled earth from before the black hole ate one?

Now that I think about it, what are the odds of anything SURVIVING that kind of event? If this particular theory holds true, how did we "Come back," so to speak? How could ANY kind of organism survive being crushed and ripped apart simultaneously by a massive gravity-well, and then survive for who-the-hell-knows how long in such a state, and THEN surviving the explosion and the resulting chaos that will surely follow and manage to reproduce in a location that could support it and it's offspring?
