lol, you jelly shadow? It's fiction, but It's not supposed to be flamboyant WE DO THIS BECAUSE WE CAN stuff. it has to make SOME semblance of sense. I hardly think "It's fiction" is any kind of excuse. On the other hand, i think Blaire's theories, particularly her first one, were very plausible. Merely the artists failing to convey the writer's story, not the writer's stupidity. |

I could see it from a 'Fringe' perspective. Shadow being of the 'prime' universe and Blaze comes from an alternate one, right? Sol Emeralds are alternate Chaos Emeralds. The Sol Emeralds could represent -1 and the Chaos Emeralds could represent +1. What does a positive 1 and a negative 1 create? Zero. Null. Ergo both parties' respective energies created a nullity that stopped Shadow's ability to Chaos Control. |

I don't follow the comic's storyline, but, well... Is it really worth complaining about? In SA2, Sonic pulled off Chaos Control with a fake emerald that for all we know was made of plastic. Sonic got his ass handed to him by Mephiles because he was distracted by something shiny. I think all I really have to say is... So what? Shadow escaping wouldn't have been a better storyline anyways, by the sounds of things. ;P |

My problem isn't that this happened one time, but DAK seems to be saying it happens ALL THE TIME in Archie, and to be honest, from the comics I've seen, there are tons of instances where some characters really should not get beaten so easily or just carry the Idiot Ball around for a very long while. |

Naturally given this is a teenage comic I think that explaining concepts like Cy is presenting may be a bit much for many of the readers so it is simply just "one of those things" that Shadow's powers simply are cancelled out by Blaze's fire because that's just how it works with Sol emeralds. Naturally I don't see this happening ALL the time in the story lines but when some of the more blatant ones bounce out it can be a little irritating. Especially if readers are wanting to know "why" a lot of comic writers don't ever go into why's. |

Here's a thought: has any one ever checked future comics? Shadow may be wondering the exact same thing we're wondering. Through a quick stop to think about why he lost, he can be prepared for the next battle he may have with blaze. I understand the fact that this makes no sense at first, but did you ever give them a chance to explain in the next comic? |

@Radar: Well, to be fair, Tails did say the fake emerald had the 'same wavelengths and properties' as the real ones, it just wasn't as powerful. @Ezekial: Yeeeeaaaah! Who knows, maybe in a future comic, they'll explain something! Ever thought of that? |

The Archi comics do that all the time. That's why I love them I see lots of great writing and situations where the characters are beaten. Eggman destroying old Mobotropolis and beating the tar out of Sonic. The Iron dominion's takeover of New Mobotropolis. Nicole's, Bunnie's, and Khan's weakness to the technomagic. Recent storyline where everything is falling apart because of Mecha Sally. In each of these, the good guys are BEATEN. Defeated. On the verge of giving up and running for their lives. In the first they rally and attack, saving everyone through Nicole's ability to screw with Eggman's teleporter. In the second they cross the globe and use "diplomacy" to cut the Iron Dominion's legs out from under them. In the third...what will happen? I don't know. If it is a magic save, then it will most likely be Sonic going super. I love the comics more than any other Sonic thing. I will defend them. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Also Who said anything about fire stopping chaos control? I just though the attack distracted him so he didn't activate it. makes more sense hmm? Archie comics can be fun and entertaining but I will agree that the writers can easily screw up the writing especially when dealing with the Sega Sonic characters. Mobius: 25 Years Later was easily one of the most confusing and incoherent story arcs I've ever read in a comic book. |

I honestly wouldn't blame Penders for anything because he did do some great storylines for the Sonic SatAM cartoon and the Overworld saga in the comics. He just went way over his head into making a convoluted arc that didn't need to have such twists and turns. When you do a future story, you have to make sure that the other writers are doing projects that don't make the story inconsistent, and since Archie writers barely communicate with one another, you had Mobius: 25 Years Later. |

I've always hated the way Archie is, they've been writing over used fan-fiction ideas since the 90's and it has annoyed me to death on how they write it. Never liked Archie, never will. |
