I just want to say that High Quality trick doesn't work. Now then, the sprites are good. I like the rouge sprite. The "man commanding espio" sprite is a little dark, but I can't judge a sprite I can't fully See, so I'll give you that. The backgrounds look bad. There's a big gap between bitages, and they seem to change every comic. My main gripe is the plot. It's sort of just...everywhere. Nothing is fully explained or easy to follow. |

Well, the plot progresses through the story, many things in the beginning aren't explained until the end. For instance, in Issue One, Sonic finds a Chaos Emerald and implies Tails told him it was there. Rouge, being the treausre hunter she is, finds the chaos emerald at the same time and attempts to take it. Issue Two shows Espio receiving orders from a hooded figure, showing what is happening after Issue One and before Issue Two. Issue Three follows what happened in Issue Two, where, behind the scenes, Sonic and Rouge were having a battle, hence why she looks tired in the third Issue. Sonic and Rouge end up becoming partners due to a deal Sonic makes with her. Issue Four shows what happens before Issue One, which is where Tails asks Sonic to meet up with him in a place where they can't be overheard so he can tell him where a chaos emerald is, so it's sort of like a prologue. Rouge overhears them talking in the background, which leads to her following Sonic to the Chaos Emerald. Thus, Issue One begins. Issue Five is where Espio locates Sonic and Rouge. Espio, under orders from the hooded figure to kill them (explained in Issue Seven), knows they have a Chaos Emerald due to hearing their conversation while invisible (He was watching, invisible, as Rouge gave up and gave the Chaos Emerald to Sonic). He attakc Sonic, but Rouge flies away with her new partner to take him to safe place. Issue Six shows when Sonic and Rouge are in the "bad" parts of the city (Station Square) and discuss their confusion as to why Espio wants a Chaos Emerald. Espio, who followed them to the bad parts, listens to their conversation from behind a brick wall, and leaves to go back to where the hooded figure. Issue Seven takes place after Espio listens to Sonic and Rouge's conversation and runs to find the hooded figure. The figure interrogates Espio, asking if he failed to kill the two heroes. Espio hesitates, attempting to change the deal and having it so he can simply capture and imprison them, rather than killing his old friends and allies. The hooded figure gets fired up from this, demanding that Espio kill them. It then reminds him that it payed him to go on this mission and told him to get rid of all of his emotions, not telling him the reason why (This happened off-screen, even before the Sonic and Tails flashback). I hope that clears things up for you now, and since I can't reveal any spoilers, you'll just have to wait and see when the story progresses and more things are explained. Thanks for taking the time to comment! Edit: Issue Eight is up. Edited by Princess Sonia 007, Nov 26 2010, 07:13 PM.

Hm, it doesn't look too bad. Borders are a little all over the place, but the sprites have been resized well and the speech bubbles are lookin' good. Not really all that much going on story wise, but we are at the beginning, after all. All in all, it's showing promise. I'll keep my eye on this.

I tried to give it a nice effect by overlaying the borders on top of each other, but I'll try to put them in a more orderly way for future issues! Edit: Issue Nine has been added. Edited by Princess Sonia 007, Nov 26 2010, 08:39 PM.

How has this not gotten more pageviews or comments?? ![]() Spritework is nice, scripting seems to improve as the comic progresses. Still feels like the conversation is "forced" in places, but a massive improvement from the first pages. This is going in my sig, nice work. |

I apologize for the double post, but this is an update. Please, please comment, as I have added new things like different speech bubbles. I don't want this to fall because of lack of interest! Chapter Five Issues Two-Six added! Personally, this has to be one of my favorite strips in the series so far. It's from Chapter Five, so read at risk of spoilers: Spoiler: click to toggle

Having read this all through I would say your recent comics are vast improvements on their predecessors. Your scripting has improved and it doesn't feel as forced so well done and keep up the good work. |
