He loved going in and smashing some heads in, being shot at and running around in the mist of chaos as he dealt with his attackers. Saber could go either way. However, she would stick to her moral code, to never kill anything but spirits and demons. Thus, she would have to side with Taylor on this one. "I agree with Taylor. However, we can work this out to fit both of your likings." She started off as they kept walking. "Cable will be the bait, springing the trap that will call forth the cult members hiding within the base. Once the entry has been reveal, Taylor will pick them off from afar while I infiltrate the base unnoticed." She explains, but suddenly Cable stopped as he heard a clicking noise under his foot. "Huh... So much for that plan." Cable spoke, to which an alarm rung out. It only rang four times before shutting off. Cable tilted his head a bit as more was suppose to happen. "Huh... Well thats odd." Cable thought. He then removed his eye patch and revealed his demon looking spirit eye, scanning the area with a slightly distributed expression. "We have a problem." Cable spoke as he took a few steps back.

Saber only looked into the clearing, not seeing anything at all. "Who is dead?" Saber asked, as she didn't see not one human body. "All the spirits are dead." Cable replied, which cause for Saber to become slightly surprised as well. This cult never had enough fire power, or the smarts, to kill off a ton of spirits. Assuming that Cable saw a bunch of dead spirits. Before anyone could say anything else, the ground in front of them started to shake. Cable and Saber got ready as a large hatch started to open, lifting up towards the air as it revealed inside the base bit by bit.

"Hm. I wonder what could be responsible..." He'd had some experience with similar phenomena, but the entities capable of such acts weren't exactly 'stable'. He mentally flicked through the logical candidates for this one: Demons would have slain the mortals inside the bunker as well; many Metas were capable of turning mortals into shambling and/or fanatical thralls; but what was most worrisome was a mortal with an 'ascension plot.' That could turn this whole thing into a nightmare waiting to happen. "Cable, keep point and spot for me. Saber, watch our six. Let's not tempt fortune..."

Saber replies, tucking away her two sabers as her eyes scanned the base once the hatch fully opened. "Not even ghosts reside in this base." Saber informed, implying that there wasn't a living person in there. At least, not in the entrance. "Heh, there aren't any spirits around, but I never said there wasn't any ghost." Cable informed them. Saber looked at Cable oddly for a moment. "Let me restate my comment from before, now that the hatch is open... Their all dead, including the people." He informs them, then started walking towards the entrance of the base. "Whats odd is, I'm picking up trances of ghost particles. I'm not sure how these guys died, but I'll tell ya one thing, it wasn't pretty." He adds as they drew near to the entrance, the hatch getting bigger and bigger as they walked towards it. "So Taylor, could this thing we're looking for kill an entire base of cults AND some lingering spirits?" Cable asked, putting his eye patch over his spirit eye as he spoke.

A corpse would provide clues as to what killed them, what they may have to deal with.

Saber continued to scan the base as they walked through it. This place seemed pretty big, almost endless. And what was worse, was the fact that not a single corpse was present. "Stop." Saber suddenly spoke, looking at the ground in front of her. "Whats up?" Cable asked, walking to her side and trying to see what she sees with his normal eye. "We're not going anywhere." She replied, to which Cable looked around a bit confused. "You mean, we went around in a circle?" "No... We've never left the this certain area. The hatch can still be seen be hind us, though its a bit far away. These walls have rusty stains on them that have repeated itself exactly. This stain on the ground, we've passed it three times already." She tells them, looking down the hallway as if trying to find something. "So, we're caught in a loop then... Know any ways on how to escape looping bunkers?" Cable asked Taylor, seeing if he had any ideas, or maybe throw in some input that would tell them what really is going on here.

However, Cable simply shrugged his shoulders and started walking. After taking about seven steps, Cable suddenly vanished. Saber became a bit tensed, as she wasn't expecting him to vanish that quickly. "Heh, well that didn't take long." Cable spoke. However, standing before him was only Saber. "What didn't take long?" Saber asked Cable, to which Cable looked at her with a smirk. "Your not one for playing dumb, so don't start now." Cable informed her, to which she simply glared at Cable. "I'm not playing dumb. You and Taylor disappeared as soon as we entered the base. I've been walking alone for hours now." Saber informed, to which Cable became a bit more shocked and confused. "I was just with you and Taylor a few seconds ago." He told her, to which she shook her head no. "I've been alone for two hours." She replied. ---------- "Why hasn't he come back yet?" Saber asked Taylor. Though it was only a few minuets ago that Cable vanished form their sight, if this was a looping hallway, he should be coming up behind them any moment. However, no foot steps were heard, not a single sound was present. "I don't like this..." She told Taylor, looking towards him for advice on what to do next.

Divide and conquer; predatory strategy," Taylor said. He pointed the rifle upwards and rest his head against the barrel. He said something in an unfamiliar tongue, but the intonation suggested something akin to a prayer. Then, "Cain, wake up, dammit. Time to work their magic. Infinite-hallway twist, that's what I figured. Yeah, break it." He pointed the gun down the way Cable had gone. "All right. Three-count. Three, two, one..." Then he raised his voice, bellowing: "FIRE IN THE HOLE!" Then he took the shot.

He couldn't pin point what it was, but it sounded like it was coming from behind him. "What is it?" Saber asked Cable, to which he looked at Saber for a moment. Clearly she couldn't hear the noise, which was now coming from in front of. The noise grew a bit louder, as if shouting at him as he slightly covered his ears. "AHHHHHH!!!" Cable shouts as he was flung back. A bullet raced through his shoulder and tossed him to the ground. His fist tightened as he grinned his teeth in slight pain. "Cable... What are you doing on the floor?" Saber asked, tilting her head a bit as if she couldn't see that he was shot. "You need to stop attacking like a child." She adds, to which Cable simply returned his distress expression to a calm and careless one. "Yeah, your right. It really didn't hurt all that much... Bu this might." Cable suddenly charged his fist with his spirit fire, and suddenly fired it forward at Saber. The spirit fire blazed through the fake Saber, causing it to screech loudly as a shattering sound was heard. "Cable!!" The real Saber, who was with Taylor the whole time, shouts as she saw blood and sand coming out of his bullet wound. "Yeah yeah, I know, why the hell did I get shot? I need to be more careful, blah, blah, blah. I'll be fine." He tells her standing up as he rubbed his shoulder, moving it around as more sand started to come out then blood. "Heh, nice shot." Cable told Taylor in a honest voice. Fact is, it was a good shot. "So, we need to break both sides of the loop in order to break it... I'll keep that in mind." He tells himself.

However, he never got shot by his own teammate while being the bait. At least, not in this way. "Yeah, don't mention it. Thats what I'm here for I guess." Cable comments with a nod, patting his bullet wound a bit as the sand clocked a the wound from bleeding out anymore. "I'll keep an eye out." Saber told Taylor. However, her eyes were focused on the ground. "I suggest we watch out step, then." She adds, looking around her as several dead bodies could be seen now that the illusion was gone. Clearly these men and women were the cult Cable and Saber spoke of earlier. Some had happens while others didn't. Some seemed to die of thirst and lack of food from being caught in this loop. "Well, lets keep on moving then. Saber, keep an eye out." Cable ordered. Knowing that if one of them was to walk ahead of Taylor a bit, they would be able to keep Taylor alive and with them, seeing as how he knew the best way to deal with this 'demon.' Cable took the lead as Saber would walk next to Taylor.

"Our priority here is getting intel on the area, and getting out. 'Course, our unknown foe won't make either of those easy..." As they ventured through the bunker, he kept an eye on the wires running along the ceiling, calling turns that they should take as the cables became clustered together, nearing what was either a generator or network room.

In the center was the sixth door, leading to what would seem to be an elevator that only went down. "Huh, this base really goes under ground." Cable states, looking around at this circular room. Of course they would come to a point that would make them choose a path to do down. They had six doors to go through. Any of them could lead anywhere. "I suggest try to find the base's map and layout system in one of these rooms. That way we'll be able to find the control room were we can upload the layout of all of the bases and a mapping of this desert." Saber suggested, stepping forward a bit as she looked at each of the doors. "I'd suggest splitting up, but who knows where these doors lead... So, which way we going, pal?" Cable asked Taylor. It would seem that Taylor had more experience dealing with bunkers and the sorts. Then again, not all bunkers and bases were the same.
