Meaning jealousy am I correct. That often creates the unwanted scenes of craving the other one's desire. Yet if these badges were to be rewarded not to just one specific member for doing anything good, but everyone could benefit, seeing as it as a mutual goal. But that's the same like ranks I suppose. Just how are we even supposed to implement this, how can someone know the member have done a spectacular post and is in need of a small + in their book. If this could instead be a combined thing. Then perhaps, but stuff like amount of posts have already been invented. So what alternatives are there left, without causing members to flail about, over the other one's profit, (being in badges.) Perhaps the one carrying will be overall cocky in the end, and that will cause the sudden intrusion among certain members. Perhaps the badges could be temporary, like a week. Just throwing in some thoughts that's all. While I agree mostly what Zed's been saying. |

I still don't get the point of badges, people are really going nuts over something this small? All you need to do is put a badge in a [img] tag in your signature. Simple. |

Okay that is true. And it doesn't make much sense to argue over the possiblilities we just need ONE PERSON to like organize all the ideas and pool their thoughts together on this and write it down. Then post it up for everyone to see. Only then should people feel inclined to make comments on the idea. Because right now there's just a bunch of potential ideas and arguments flying around, its really not doing anyone any good or developing any sort of idea at all. So why don't we all just simmer down and let the original thinker-up of said idea just do his thing and put the pieces together? You know, i've seen this badge thing done before its REALLY not complicated. Just simmer.... simmer... And will someone please get an admin in here? This has been going on FOREVER. |

Badges should in theory be easily doable, I'm sure the code is floating around somewhere on a Zetaboards code database  If it's doable to put XBL/PSN/Wii stuff in the profile, it should be easily achievable for an admin-awarded only badge set.

I've seen a few ZetaBoards forums that have implemented a badge system, although I've been unsuccessful in actually finding the code or even a basic feature in the ACP to allow it. It could be done, but I wager it'd be more trouble than it's worth, especially since we technically already have such a system in the the form of the rankings anyways. |
