Bios "All aboard!" was the one thing no one could here. It was the last call for the cruise headed to Adabat. Large crowds of excited tourists, screaming children and screaming bystanders gathered about as, one by one, the passengers went in. Walking up the stairs was a purple-furred wolf. There was this constant TICK-TICK-TICK with each step, caused by the harsh manner in which he handled his cane. The piece wood would land on the ground loudly from the force he pressed on it, only to follow its little tune with a couple of perfect steps. He continued walking like that, the light gowning him as a wry smile adorned his furry muzzle. He had a nasty burn on his face, though it didn't seem to phaze him at all. Following closely was a chameleon with a skin as light blue as either the clear sky over them or the wolf's good eye. He dressed in black with a belt pakced with a couple of assault blades; one would have to be positively blind to miss them. This one looked more serious and behaved more subtle than his companion, despite being visibly younger. The captain continued to invite all the passengers with warm smiles and tips of the hat. As soon as the canine came in sight, the captain fixed his composure in sudden reaction and bowed. "Mr. Vale, it is a pleasure to have you join us in our trip!" "At ease, captain," said the entrepeneur. "This is merely a business trip... though I will consider traveling in this vessel again in the near future if it meets with my expectations." "Your needs will be satisfied, sir." The captain then spotted the reptillian fellow beside the special guest. The weapons did not leave a very good -or trustworthy, for that matter- impression on the man. "And you are..." "My bodyguard, of course," Daridier replied quickly before the chameleon could even take a breath to speak. The captain blinked and hesitated for a second. "Mr. Vale, we are the-" "Save it," interrupted the wolf while extending his hand towards the man. "If life has taught me anything, it is that real safety is an illusion; Mr. Sangster is my bodyguard and a prized friend, he will be traveling with me and I expect him to be met with every luxury I am." "Y-yes, sir." The captain bowed again. Daridier nodded pleased and walked in with his acquaintance. "Luxury?" asked the chameleon, both confused and amused. Dare chuckled and winked at him. "Skye, you and I both know that I need a bodyguard like the sun needs more thermal energy," he laughed loudly then sighed contented. "See it as a gift from me to you." The young warrior chuckled as he shook his head at the guy's remark. Turning a bit serious, he began, "But should the need rise..." "Then you will earn the salary I will be paying you during the trip," Dare answered. "Now stop being such a killjoy with yourself." |

Bios The sweet aroma of chocolate and mint filled the senses of a young Siberian Husky, like a goblet being filled with the finest wine. Blaire Fields lay upon one of the lounge chairs of the ship's deck, having been early enough to catch the cruise liner before it got to crowded. A box of chocolate mints sat in her paws, already half enpty. "Ah, there's nothing like a nice, relaxing vacation to take your mind off your troubles. And to Adabat no less. Nice, peaceful, lovely Adabat. My only concern, however, is how much of that tropical island heat I'm going to have to endure. Hopefully not that much. The last thing I want to do is pass out during my vacation," the dog mused to herself, a slight chuckle escaping her mouth. Blaire placed the box of mints on the table next to her chair, a rattling sound entering her ears as the small candies hit each other. With her now free paw, the canine then procceeded to grab a small glass of soda. "Now," she began, raising the glass up. "Here's to a fun and relaxing getaway!" ......................................................................................................... Elsewhere on the luxury liner, Alexis Macrodaine was in the midst of a heated session...of bargaining. The Swift Fox leaned against the counter of one of the cabins, a smug grin on her face. On the other side, a squirrel stood, mouth open in disbelief. "So you see," Alexis began, placing an upturned palm to the side. "The reason why the Basilins won the War of 1510 was not because of superior firepower or swordsmanship. Instead, it was due to luck. Pure, simple, luck. Yes, the Lady of Providence was sure on thier side that day." "I...I..." The squirrel was speechless, having been beaten in his own game. "Fine. You win. I'll give you a discount on the food in the restaraunt I run here...." the Mobian stated, muttering something afterwards. "How the heck...luck? Just...how?" The Swift Fox brushed a lock of head fur to the side, her smirk only growing. "You know what they say; the more you know!" |

"Here we are," Daridier speaks as he taps a door with his cane's handle. Skye walks towards him and looks at the door quietyly. They had gone up the ship, almost reaching the control room where the captain works. The hall in which they stood had a bedazzling red carpet with gold lining and there were only a coupe of cabins there. It was quiet there than in any other are in the ship, then again, this was more of a VIP area. His eyes then widened as Dare opened the door and revealed a large luxuious room inside. Two large beds at each side, each with its own nightstand and a drawer, a minifridge, a bathroom and such sort. The chameleon stepped inside, still quiet. "You can pick whichever bed you want," the wolf said as he walked up behind him. "I'm good, sir. You just go right ahead," the chameleon answered humbly. His friend stared at him, blinking a couple of times. "Skye, you're here to have fun, to relax..." The old wolf sat on the bed in the left and rested his arms and head on top of his cane. "Go hang out, get a girlfriend, lounge by the pool, get a tan, something for heaven's sake!" "This is fancier than my actual room." Skye chuckled and jumped on the other bed. He took out one of his bundi daggers and began inspecting the blade. "You know, I'm not much of the party kind," replies the chameleon as he smiles to the canine. "But don't let me stop you from having fun." The wolf sighed and stood up. "I'm going to go grab a snack down at the restaurant if you need me." "I'll go with-" "This is your vacation, Skye," Dare quickly added. "I don't need a bodyguard yet." That said, he walked towards the door, his cane going TICK-TICK-TICK again. |

"Miss Fields?" Blaire cracked open one eye as she lay on that lounge chair, paws behind her head. "That would be me. Is there anything I can do for you?" A gentlemanly ferret approached the Siberian Husky. In his paws was a sliver tray. Upon its well-polished surface sat a plate of delectable fruits - succellent grapes, fresh bannanas, and a large melon slice. "Yes, I believe you wanted some of these?" the Mobian answered, pushing the tray towards the dog. "Ah yes, I did ask for something like that," Blaire answered, her gloved fingers wrapping around the sides of the tray. "Thank you sir." The ferret took a moment to brush a speck of dust that had gathered on his white suit. "Yes of course. Now than..." he reached out with a black-gloved paw. "That'll be ten mobiums." Blaire felt her left ear stiffen, as if someone had sprayed starch on it. "Ten? That seems a bit much for a bunch of fruit." "I don't call the prices, ma'am. I just ask for the money." "Fine then," the purple-furred Mobian said, digging through her wallet for the cash she had been asked for. "Here you are, ten exactly," she told the ferret, handing him a small pile of money. "We appreciate your services, ma'am." ................................................................................................ The resteraunt was a rather equisite one. Round tables stood in carefully placed rows, the surfaces of those that were void of guests clean as a brand new trophy. Those that did have Mobians eating at them featured delectable mountains of food. A large chandellier hung from the ceiling, the glass it was made of catching the light of the room. Alexis sat at one of these tables, menu in paw. Beside her, a green-furred hedgehog stood, awaiting the fox's order. "I'll have the sirloin steak, with sauce of course. And could I get those buffalo wings as an appetizer?" the marroon-furred Mobian asked, handing the hedgehog her menu. "Certainly ma'am," the insectavoire said with a bow. "I'll have the chefs get right to work." |

TICK-TICK-TICK. The cane continued ticking as Daridier walked down the hall and towards the restaurant doors. Although a rythmic little melody, it was a surprise listening to it every time he walked for almost seventeen years now hasn't driven him crazy yet. Even more surprising is the fact that he hums to it sometimes, normally when in a good mood, as he was now. He continued to hum to it as he came in through the doors. The inside was definitely beautiful; worthy of the reputation it had. "Not too shabby," he replied to himself softly as he smirked. He fixed his shirt collar and continued towards an empty table. Taking a chair, he placed his cane against the table and picked up the menu. --- Skye fingered the blade of the dagger at hand carefully, inspecting the metal closely. The black surface shone neatly, reflecting the room's light. He gently tapped the tip of the knife and gripped the handle tightly. It seemed to be in excellent condition, not that that was a surprise. He had repeatedly polished them before heading out and even on the way there. Maybe that was the reason Daridier insisted so much for him to simply hang loose. The young chameleon's eyes scoped around the room. It was certainly beautiful. The floor was furnished with a crimson red carpet. The drawers and nighstands were apparently hand-carved with designs he had never seen before. Each bed had four pillows, soft and greatly comfortable. The silk blankets with velvet lining, adorned in stitching that resembled vines with flowers and leaves. It literally was fancier than his actual room. He certainly wasn't poor; far from it, really. But he wasn't very used to living in luxury, either. Then again, that would be the difference between someone who is a rich entrepeneur and owner of a large company and someone who has been fighting in a resistance almost his entire life. Skye looked back at his blade. It finally seemed pointless to continue cleaning and polishing it. His hand took the weapon towards his belt and hung it there. He subsequently heaved his legs and swung them over to the side then sat there contemplating the floor. "Maybe he's right..." he spoke to himself. "I mean, he was kind enough to find a way I could go on vacation. It would be ungrateful." The reptile stood on his feet and headed towards the door. The top deck and some fresh air would probably help him relax. |

"Mom! Dad! Can we go swiming in the ocean!" "No kids, you must remain on the boat until we reach Adabat." "But whyyyyyyy?!" "Because those are the rules. You'll have plenty of time to swim when we get to Adabat." "But we want to swim now!" "Yes, noooow!" "Nownownownownownownownow!!!" "I wish they would stopstopstopstopstop..." Such was the thought that ran through Blaire's mind like words across a computer screen. In front of her was a family with two young kids. And the kids were getting on the husky's nerves. "Normally I like kids but, dang! I wish they would listen to thier parent's and shut up!" The canine sighed deeply, too kindhearted to tell such things to the kids themselves. "If I ever have kids, I do hope they don't become as unruly as those." Blaire allowed herself a little chuckle. "Heh, me have kids? I don't see that happening." .................................................................................................................................... TICK-TICK-TICK. The sound of a cane hitting the floor in a rythmitic fashion caught Alexis's attention. The young outlaw looked over in the direction of the sound. It was then that she slighted an Artic Wolf several years older then her. "Huh, he looks like he won't need to do any bargaining to lower the prices of this stuff. It all looks so good but darn is it expensive. Four dollars for a plate of buffolo wings? They'd better be good if they cost that much," the fox said to herself, tapping her fingers against the table in boredom. "I do hope they don't go overboard on the sauce though. The last time that happened, I had to ask where the steak actually was. Not the best of moments..." |

"Your selection, sir?" a waiter asked the wolf. Daridier continued filing his index finger's claw with his thumb's claw, an odd habit he often showcases when he's thinking. The waiter looked at him, but several minutes passed and he had yet to get a response. He looked at the customer curiously, a visible scar over his right eye. He looked wealthy but then why not get a plastic surgery? Taking a few furtive glances at the cane, he began wondering if the connosieur was lame too. "I'll have the turkey with the chestnut filling and almond sauce and the lobster with plenty of margarine and a couple of cilantro leaves on top," the wolf finally answered as he set down the menu. "A bottle of amontillado to top it off as well, if you please." "Right away, sir," the waiter replied, a bit shaky since he had been distracted when the entrepeneur spoke. He sounded less fierce then he appeared, yet twice as serious. "Hmm..." Daridier mumbled as he lifted the menu again and pondered. "Perhaps I should have asked for something Skye could eat in case he joins me, but hell if I know what he eats with that strict diet of his." He placed the menu back down and sighed. For a vacation, everything was starting out in a very boring fashion. --- Skye walked into the deck. The sun was burning up while the breeze that came from every direction was cool and refreshing. He walked to the side of the deck and looked out towards the horizon. Hadn't been all that long since they departed and already he couldn't see the pier. He stared quietly at the blue horizon and suddenly felt somewhat sad. The again, that could be expected from someone who hasn't travelled all that far from home before. A lot of things came to mind almost immediately; everything having to do with a small community he heads. Sure, his older sister and her daughter could fit in for him, but with his brother-in-law missing... It just kept bothering him. Very deeply too. A bit of bickering reached him and he looked down from where he was. A couple of kids seemed to be arguing with their father over going swimming. He chuckled to himself. It suddenly appeared to him that everything was simple when he was a kid; and everything indeed was back then. "Maybe I should take a look at the pool..." he whispered, despite not being much of an avid swimmer. "Could be fun..." |

Several minutes had passed, with nary the delicious aroma of food passing Alexis. Well, not the food she had ordered, at any rate. But the whiff of meals that had been requested by the other passageners of the ship hit her constantly, as if she was being pelted with a steady stream of soft candy. Occasionally, as a tray went past, Alexis would lean to the side, nose wiggling slightly as the scent of food reached her nose. "Hmm...sea food. I'd say lobster or something along the lines of that as the main course. Whatever it is, it smells quite good. If I had the money, I'd probably order it." I'll have the turkey with the chestnut filling and almond sauce and the lobster with plenty of margarine and a couple of cilantro leaves on top. A bottle of amontillado to top it off as well, if you please. The Swift Fox found herself leaning to the side again, this time in the direction of Daridier. "Of course. Leave it to me to be right about a man in a snazzy suit being able to afford the more expensive items on the menu. I'm lucky enough that the small discount I managed to procur allows me to get some of the cheaper stuff..." ........................................................................................................................... "Whew, is it just me, or did someone turn up the heat?" Blaire complained, fanning herself with a paw. "Because things just got a little toasty out here..." The canine reached out with a paw and grabbed her trench coat collar. As she fiddled with the dark blue clothing in her fingers, sweat splashed onto her paw. Blaire let out a deep sigh, and rolled her shoulders back. "Curse me and my vulnerability to the heat." The dog stood up out of her chair and brushed off a few beads of sweat that had gathered on her forehead. "Perhaps it would be best if I went inside. The temperature's probably not high enough to affect me all that much, but it's better to be safe than sorry." |

"Chestnut-filled turkey with almond sauce, margarine covered lobester with cilantro leaves, and a bottle of amontillado, as per your request, sir," said a waiter as he arrived to Daridier's table. It was a different waiter this time. Dare had a hunch the one that took his order had been concerned of what he thought of him; they both knew one of the reasons Dare didn't give the menu any further thoughts was to keep him from staring at the scar and the cane. "Much obliged," replied the wolf with a smirk, his fangs showing clearly. The waiter bowed and took his leave as Daridier picked up his napkin and tucked it in his shirt collar. He stabbed the turkey with his fork and quickly began slicing a piece. The kinife cut through the succullent meat as if it were butter and a steamy aroma rose out. He took a quick bite out of the slice. "This is potentially the best almond sauce I've ever tasted." --- The pool was there, but Skye wasn't. Despite the constant mention and thought of it, he ultimately opted to return to the cabin. He threw himself on his bed and folded his arms. His eyes shot at the ceiling and he remained quiet. With every passing minute, it became harder for him not to worry about his sister and niece. The thought tormented him even. Turning and tossing a bit, he soon found the ship's rocking to be annoying as well. Soon enough, he sighed disappointed. "At this rate, I'll end up jumping ship," he mumbled. "I should just take a nap and rest." |

Blaire's cabin was one of the larger ones, yet not as extravagant as those that were more expensive, obviously. The plush carpet was clean and well kempt, with its forest green designs complementing the dark blue surface very nicely. The dog's bed was a king-sized version, with clean white sheets and pillows. Besides the bed stood a set of dressers, the laquered wood making it up having been sanded perfectly smooth. Blaire lay on her bed, one foot crossed over the other and arms behind her head. The canine breathed a sigh of contented relief, happy to be somewhere cool. "Though how one can have air conditioning on a ship is beyond me." The Siberian Husky reached out and grabbed the remote sitting besides her. With a deft flick of her wrist accompying it, the Mobian pointed to device at the TV screen and pressed the 'On' button. ..................................................................................................................................... "Your order, ma'a,m?" Alexis turned to see the hedgehog from before approach her with a small, silver tray. The fox nodded in response, a small smile gathering on her muzzle. "Thank you, sir." "You're quite welcome," the waiter said, placing the plate of food on the table in front of her. "I do hope the meal is to your liking." As soon as the Mobian was out of sight, Alexis grabbed a knife and fork and began to cut the steak. Immediatly did a juicy aroma emerge from the tender meat, sending the vixen's senses convulsing. As she took a bite out of one piece, Alexis found a bright grin growing across her muzzle. "Hmm, now this is quite a steak." |

Daridier chewed eagerly but not quickly. He swallowed a bit louder than he should have and sighed with delight. His eye darted at the half eaten turkey, and his thick long tongue cleaned the sauce in his lips. He cut another and took a good whiff, then sighed once again. "Devon would have irrevocably loved being here," he said before shoving the delicious piece of fowl in his mouth, or at the very least get a good taste of this. He continued chewing and swallowed in the same manner as before. To say he was enjoying the meal was probably an understatement; he was absolutely loving every flavor-packed bite, savoring the sauce, reveling in the great test of the chestnut filling. Once again, he swallowed with delight. He filled his cup with amontillado and took a sniff at it. With a better show of ettiquette than with the food, he tasted the wine and smiled to himself. "What I wouldn't pay for an entire cask of this..." --- Meanwhile, a shady figure walked towards the engine room, subtly. Whoever it was, they wore a fine black suit, thouugh perhaps nothing quite as fancy as Daridier's tuxedo, and a fedora over their head. A white, large bandage wrapped around their mouth and shades to top off; their face was completely hidden in those. They walked calmly, neither slow or quick, and went into the room with that same serenity. A gloved hand reached for the door's handle and opened it. One of the workers inside turned to greet the person, believing it a workmate. "Hey, Mac, did you..." he remained silent as the strange entity stepped inside. "Uh, sir... madame? Whoever you are, this place is off-limits to anyone who isn't an engineer or the captain." The figured took out a gun with a custom made silencer plugged on and stared at the worker. "Son of a-" |

From inside Blaire's cabin came the sound of objects being scattered about. The purple-furred Mobian dug through the small box of DVDs that had been placed in her room as entertainment, hoping to find something that would keep her, well, entertained. However, she was finding nothing to her liking. "Soap operas, soap operas, nothing but soap operas here! Would it kill these folks to have an action flick or two? Oh, what's this?" the Oakland Resistance Agent wondered, grabbing one of the cases. On the cover was a giant robot dressed as a ninja...in space. "Attack of the Giant Robot Ninjas...from Space. How quaint." .................................................................................................................................................................... Alexis glanced at Daridier, wishing that she too could have such a delicious-looking meal. As the fox's eyes returned to her half-eaten steak, she let out a deep sigh. "Dang, being an outlaw sure is tough. I could try getting myself a real job one of these days. But what person would hire a wanted criminal like me?" The fox took a moment to grab her sword and stab a piece of steak with it. But instead of placing it in her mouth as one would expect, the marroon-furred Mobian stared at it, an unenthusistic look on her face. "Well, Blaire did ask if I would be willing to join the Oakland Resistance Division...too bad I just can't see myself doing the things they do. I prefer to help out other Mobians my own way..." |

"Captain!" a crew member called frantically as he burst through the door. "Frederick's dead!" The man taking care of the ship's navigation suddenly turned around shocked and stared down at the agitated workmate. "What?!" "It's true, I tell ya!" the man screamed. "We found him in a bloody pool, disfigured! Someone must have done this!" The man began hyperventilating and was visibly trembling. "We're trapped with a murderer in the middle of the ocean!" "Calm down!" the captain ordered as he grabbed the crew member and squeezed his arms. "Get ahold of yourself, for heaven's sake! I'll go send a notice to land; everything will be fine." --- Skye's eyes shot open. He didn't even stop to gain recomposure after having been slept; he quickly jumped off the bed. Quiet, steely, he reached for the door and opened it. He looked around with sharp eyes then walked down the hallway. His feet gave race to each other and the young man walked down the stairs, directing himself towards the restaurant. The ship came to a screeching halt and many of the passengers looked confused. The power suddenly went out as well; every room and cabin got dark. --- The heck? Daridier wondered as he serenly drunk the sip he was taking when the lights went out and stared oddly at the roof over his head with his good eye. This certainly appeared to be a curious event to him. "This is strange..." one of the waiters muttered. "Not to worry everyone," the chef spoke as he walked out the kitchen. "Probably just technical difficulties; I'll go speak with the captain myself." You do that, Daridier encouraged in his thoughts as he continued to drink his wine. --- The light blue chameleon continued his journey down, passing right by the chef. He stopped briefly and turned towards the lemur. "You're not going to see the captain." "...Eh?" the marsupial wondered as he saw the retile speak to him like that. "How did you..." "Wild guess; I suggest you stay put though," the young man adviced. "For your safety, of course." The lemur looked at this one. His voice sounded more grave than his facial expression looked. He looked very straightforward, but his tone of voice sounded rather concerned. "Uh... sure, I suppose." "Good. Thank you for listening," that said, Skye went into the restaurant and searched around for Daridier. As soon as he spotted his friend, he walked to him with a quick pace and stopped directly behind him. "We have to go." Dare wiped his mouth with a napkin then turned, "I haven't had the lobster yet." However, he spotted no glint nor reaction from Skye. After the two stare at each other blankly, Dare stands up and picks up his cane. "Any ideas for evacuating the restaurant without creating mass hysteria?" asked the cold blooded fighter. Out of the corner of his eye, Dare spotted the chef looking through the doors, apparently curious at Skye. "I think our friend the chef may be of help with that." |

As if an invisible hand had suddenly come up behind her and gently pushed her, Blaire felt herself lurch forward slightly when the ship screeched to a halt. And before the bemused Mobian had a chance to gather her bearings, the lights flashed once, then cut off completly, trapping the dog in perpetual darkness. "What on Mobius?" Blaire slid off her bed, glancing at the roof. "Someone must have accidently cut off the power. Oh well. I'll just go check out the pool," the canine stated with a yawn, as she headed to the door of the cabin. ........................................................................................................................................... On a table not far from where Dare had been sitting, a plate had shifted slightly, and a glass of water now lay half empty, it's contents spilling onto the table cloth. Alexis looked at the mess in both surprise and mild frustration - the Swift Fox let out a sigh, slumping her shoulders. "Great..." Mere seconds later, the lights went out. Not to worry everyone. Probably just technical difficulties; I'll go speak with the captain myself. "Well now, isn't this an odd bit of events?" Alexis asked herself, stretching her arms behind her as she let ou a small yawn. Curiosity overcame Alexis, practically tugggin her out of her seat. "I might as well check this out myself. I know, I shouldn't be eavesdropping but..." the outlaw shrugged her shoulders, not too concerned about the risk of her being caught. "...What the heck?" |

"Sir," Skye spoke to the chef once again as he approached him. "Do you think you could evacuate your restaurant?" "What?" the lemur asked. He looked at the chameleon as if he were crazy. "I will not drive my customers out; this is the busiest day we've had in good while. Besides, I will not create panic if there's no danger." "Panic is what we want to avoid," Dare explained as he walked up from behind Skye. "Sir, the passengers are in great danger. We need to evacuate them until the threat is averted," Skye added. "If you could do get them to leave the restaurant in an orderly fashion-" "I am not doing any of that until I speak with the captain. I'm sure he'll sort this out." "In case you haven't noticed, we've stopped moving, and we're currently rocking back and forth in the middle of the ocean," Dare roughly points out. "There is no reason for the captain to stop, even if the power is out; you lot have back up power, at least enough to keep the vessel moving towards the destination." The chef looked at the wolf quietly, some concern beginning to note on his face. He looked at Skye a bit nervously and the reptile nodded. "Something must have gone wrong in the control room." |
