^ANOTHER DEAD TROLL^
I am literally afraid of posting this topic, but when I talked to other members (which I will keep anonymous) they been through the same similar.

I noticed I been scolded by staff or a bit knocked down for expressing my negative opinions in topics. For expressing my negative opinion in a non threatening and non flaming way, I get fussed and I even got a warning today for saying a few things that were true and expressing my opinion for another members forum.
Sure I was a bit harsh, but I made a few strong points in the subject.
Quote:

Excuse me, but the Sonic Billboard is a place to advertise your forum, not to burst into somebody else's thread, compare their forum to yours, claim yours is better, and criticize them.

Heck even the own darn staff member Bliz curses uncensored and doesn't even get in trouble.
Please keep that in mind next time.

What did I say so bad to get this warning?
See this topic. I deleted my message, but it's been quoted.
http://sonicblast.org/topic/7237764/1/#new

Ok so I get a warning and a slap on the wrist for stating my opinion?
I did not hurt this guy or cursed and flamed at him.
I said what was my view on this forum and what to do to improve it.
I used mine as an example because my forum is professionally made and yes I am a majoring professional in graphic and web design. So I know what I am talking about.

It's not just me but others when expressing their negative opinion, they get in trouble and it really got me but not 1 but more than 3 members here been through the same. So if I am banned for even posting my negative view about Sonic Blast about this, then I dunno what to say.

And why does it seem like anything I express in my opinion somehow Bliz swings in and always and I mean always 90% of the time has something smart to say about my posts?

Anyway, is this all completely just me? I mean really, this happens to me more than one time.

*Edit*
And another strong point a member told me, is that many members are overlooked for their rank and status. Like if a member with a higher post count and rank. Or a member who are good friends with a staff member, they don't get as much trouble or targeted as much compared to me.
And it's true, people do have higher respect here on SB and are overlooked at times when they do something similar to what i do in a topic.
Heck even our own staff member Bliz curses in some topics uncensored and gets away with it because she is staff.

I still can't use this.

You've got it all wrong. The fact of the matter is, your post in the Billboard topic was reported by a non-staff member, I looked at the report because it's my job, I decided you didn't do anything that warranted an actual warning so much as a little pro-tip chat from me to you; I even specifically stated that any offense you may have committed with that post was pretty gray anyways.

More specifically, there was no actual offense, and to pin one on you would be reaching a bit, but I felt the tone in your post could've been handled better, so I talked to you in the hopes that it'd help you perhaps come on a bit better the next time you want to help someone out. That's all my PM was to you, and what's funny is that you essentially agreed with me anyways!

So, I'm not sure where you're coming from about me "warning" you. You've not been warned, not for this and not for anything else you've posted in the past. Your disciplinary record is as clean as mine, that I assure you.

Secondly, people around here don't get in trouble for merely expressing a negative opinion. They get in trouble if they express that negative opinion in ways that may be disrupting to fair and rational discourse; Hell, I had to physically warn an actual staff member for doing just that not too long ago.

A lot of the people who may have been so-called "targetted" by staff in the past usually stir up trouble in the process, either by flaming or trolling to some degree, whether it is or isn't intentional, thus we handle such problems to the best of our ability so that we can reestablish a less heated environment. Overall, I'll speak for all of staff and say that we don't "target" members on this forum; We honestly have better and more constructive things to do with our time.

But there is undoubtedly a hierarchy on Sonic Blast though, and it's dependent on the things you mentioned as well as a person's ability to make a point or mayhaps their artistic or roleplaying abilities; In short, those who contribute most to the forum in a positive manner are more popular and given more credibility than those that don't. However, this isn't unique to Sonic Blast, but every large and long-lasting community I've ever seen. Regardless, it has little to nothing to do with staff matters; As I said, I warned a staff member not too long ago, but I pretty much gave you a pass today. Mysterious, isn't it? :P

Nevertheless, I don't see how this is a point of contention anyways. You're not a troublemaker, so why would anyone on staff target you?

Third, I swing by your posts and respond to them because it's a forum, and that's generally the point-- You see something interesting and respond to it with your own thoughts. Because of the general level of conversation on Sonic Blast, it is much harder for me to respond to things that I agree with than with things I disagree with because such posts are usually self-explanatory and so it's difficult for me to add to the discussion; Really, unless I'm joking, to make a post that amounts to "I agree" is out of the question for me.

However, it is much easier to do so with posts I disagree with, and you and I are very, very, different Sonic fans. But that actually makes you an interesting person to talk to! =P Anyways, rest assured I don't target people on a personal level when I debate with them. For example, the very last time I responded to you in the Sonic 4 topic, I wasn't even responding to you but to the model debate in general, and I made a note at the very beginning of the post to make that apparent.

Regardless, I ironically know what it's like to feel overwhelmed or beaten down by such posters, thus I sincerely apologize for making you feel uncomfortable. I'm actually trying to be friendlier to people on here in normal discourse. Frankly, I was much, much more intolerable just a few months ago.

Also, cursing isn't against the rules, really, unless it's over-gratuitous or levelled at someone with the aim of flaming them. I and other posters who do curse don't really do that, so... curse away. Anyone's free to do it. :P

Um yes I have something to say. But I am afraid to. When I was in the shack one day, I was posting JB lyrics to a song and I got warned for posting them over and over, which I thought was unfair. He is my fav artist and I have a right to post lyrics to his songs just as anyone else has rights to post lyrics to any other song. Please, pleaase do not warn me for this. I am just expressing my opinion.

I object to your claims
The problem is, you were doing it in a way that everyone else found extremely annoying. And, even when a staff member told you to stop, you kept on doing it. Yes, you're allowed to post lryics, but there are times when you have to respect others' wishes as well.

Besides, part of that warning was also for flaming people; that was probably the biggest reason.

You were probably warned more on the grounds of flooding. Yes, the Casino Park generally permits spam, mostly in terms of the length of one's post, but if you're admittedly spamming something over and over to the point that even people in The Shack have a significant problem with your presence and the staff starts getting actual complaints, then we reserve the right to step in and handle it as we see fit. Really, the Casino is not some free-for-all; It's still a social arena, the most social section on the site, so some level of consideration and common sense must still come into play. It's not a warn-free zone.

Alright. I will not argue with you, Blaire. I respect your wishes and I will obey them next time. I apologize for that by the way. I did not think it would be annoying. But anyways, now that we're on the same page, how come I got that other warning? I said I was sorry and it has been a while since I did anything bad or anything like that. I am not trying to get it go away, I am merely asking why it has not gone away yet. Please do not warn me for this, I am just asking a simple, easy going question that can be mattered with in a calm, nonviolent way.

It hasn't gone away because staff hasn't gotten to it yet......

Literally, that's the only reason. Warns are manually reduced in shifts, so to speak, and these shifts happen at staff's discretion.

No problem. :P Believe it or not, you can talk to staff about these things. We're not rage-filled beasts waiting to take your head off.

Ooook!
Alright I get it and it all makes sense.
Thanks for explaining I misunderstood and thought the report was an actual forum warning like an infraction.
And so was the topic posts. The whole time I thought you were out to get me. :P
Whew. I feel much better and less tense now.
