That's why the DS took off so well because it wasn't expensive and parents weren't so minding of paying for something fairly inexpensive. $300 is a big price for a handheld in a bad economy. I'm sure it'll do well, but I don't think it'll do outstanding. I could be wrong though, but personally I would not pay that much for a handheld. $250 is my max and that's pushing it. Id have to agree with our emperor here. 300 bucks is abit much, and that's putting it nicely. Nintendo is relying a lot on its fame it seems to sell well which is only part of the reason they have done well. The thing is with that much, you can buy a PSP and a few games for it, and get almost the same results. Heck, with 300 bucks I can buy a PS3 now. Even with a new Sonic game for it, I need to see a lot more from it before this becomes a must buy for me or I'll be waiting for it to become cheaper.

You do know unlike the past DS versions they released during the years, this is a completely new handheld that replaces the DS, right? Well, maybe I shouldn't use the word completely as the game chips(The only difference between DS and 3DS game chips is that the 3DS has a small tab in the corner) and handhelds look similar in size but this handheld is replacing the DS and will play a new amount of games so it's not just 'another DS system.' I'm looking forward to it although I do agree the price is rather high for a handheld. I can't remember when I first bought the original DS in the first year it came out was that high. But whatever. Everything's getting more expensive nowadays. I'll likely wait till the price drops down though. Although I do really want the Paper Mario Portable game along with the OoT remake. Neo Metallix It does have an excellent line up so far, I'm impressed! Much better than the DS's which the only good game was a port of an N64 game. Oh? I really hope you're not speaking for the majority there...

There's no way they could sell a handheld for that kind of money. An iPhone is cheaper than that. And I know, for one, that I will never use it for anything except video games. Ever. Maybe if they had a Gamecube and N64 console... (And even then, probably not, since Nintendo wouldn't be able to get Conker's Bad Fur Day on it) The only good thing I see coming out of this is that Nintendo might finally get off their asses and put Mother 3 on the GBA Virtual Console.

They should drop the price by then and, as solid as the current line up of games, have respectable library of games to go with it. Like the DSi it would probably get special editions and bundles to go with the dropped price.
