 "Reach, colonized in the early 25th century; fell on the date of August 30th, 2552... Reach, the 'homeworld' of the SPARTAN-II Program. A secretive program that would give birth to among the greatest of super-soldiers. And eventually the man who would end the long struggle against the Covenant armada all started at this very planet. And here, the Fall of Reach begun. And here, the Fall of Reach will fall... ...From the beginning, you know the end. Remember Reach." Halo: Reach is not surprisingly one of the most highly anticipated games of the year. And for good reason too, unlike last-year's somewhat-mild Halo 3: ODST. Which that game itself was built on the already existing Halo 3 engine with a few touch-ups. Halo: Reach will instead ship with a brand new engine like its predecessors before it after a three-year cycle. Halo: Reach unveils a story about a planet called Reach. Which people with a slight idea for the canon based around the games will know right away what this game will eventually end on. Reach is the homeworld-esque planet of the SPARTAN-IIs, which among there ranks would be Master Chief Petty Officer John-117. But we are not focusing on the old 10-year old Tin Can that was introduced to us in the original Halo: Combat Evolved. Instead, we are given control of a completely customizable character named Noble Six; or SPARTAN-B312. A member of the SPARTAN-III program, which was designed to produce cheap and expendable super-soldiers under total secrecy. In which, the SPARTAN-II program did not. However, Noble Team. A group of SPARTAN-III commandos that proved to be as capable as their predecessors of the SPARTAN-II program were 'upgraded' because of their usefulness. Now, SPARTAN-B312 is sent to replace a fallen member of Noble Team just before a mission on Reach... A first mission that would lead to the fall of the planet, Reach. Which will follow-up into the events of Halo: Combat Evolved. As a prequel this does somewhat tense things up as you bring in vehicles that we're never before seen in the Halo trilogy into the past as if though they existed. Obviously, Bungie might have an explaination for us. Because usually most of the really cool shit you don't want to decommission from service as a vehicle or a weapon. As they might be very effective than the future counterparts we see in Halo 3. And again, for people who read the novels of this game series. This is not based completely off the book called Halo: The Fall of Reach... Halo: Reach looks like it's going to be awesome, and if the beta is any indication it will surpass Halo 3's multiplayer and give Halo 2 a run for it's money, though as awesome as that sounds.. I'm even more exited for the campaign after the way it's been shaped up, Bungie just knows how to rally their fanbase around their Halo games and draw in wary eyes with all their footage and live action "movie-like" clip trailers. I placed my pre-order for the game today. can't wait for this game, with it and Black ops I'll be playing till next year easily. I'm pumped for Firefight where you don't have to play with people on your friend's list. it was just too hard to round up people in halo odst. |

I've been playing Halo on social here and there over the last couple of weeks but I may jump in on that if I feel like turning the 360 on and not playing Madden or Sonic Racing. =P |
