Good to be back
C'mon, I'm sure I'm not the only one who's seen this?

Toy Story 3 is one of the most anticipated sequels of all time, fans of the series having waited ten years. Most sequels usually fail in comparison to the original. But for me, personally, this is an exception. It may be nostalgia talking when I say Toy Story 3 is the best of the trilogy, and by far the most satisfying.

The movie is rendered in stunning high definition, with theatres showing it both in 3D and standard definiton. However you choose to view, you will be taken on a ride back to ten years as soon as the movie begins. I won't spoil the plot, but as to stay with tradition, Andy has aged as we have, and has now gone from seven to seventeen, and is to leave for college. However, the toys end up at Sunnyside daycare, and Woody is determined to return to Andy.

Everything about the movie was very well done, and muchly deserves the high praise it gets. And as for the ending - well, those of you who have seen it will understand I was in tears. I give Toy Story 3 a hearty two thumbs up, and strongly recommend you see it if you have seen it's predecessors.

I've heard about it (and how much people cried at some point) but I'm still yet to see it myself. I should really go and see it this weekend (I've been saying this for at least a few weeks now). XD

I'll be sure to drop in and let you know what I think when I do though. :D

I still can't use this.

Of course I've seen it, and I'm kicking myself for failing to make an official topic for it.

Anyways, I went to see this one only on faith in Pixar (and because of positive test screening results). Toy Story 2 didn't hit me in the usual Pixar way, even if it was an installment during the time when the studio wasn't really punching audiences in the face with "Cry at this scene now, you manbaby" brass knuckles like they do with their later films. It was okay for me, not remotely as great as the first one, but I still got in Toy Story 3 opening weekend. And wow, was I impressed.

On a personal level for me, the juxtaposition of the nostalgia and the aged elements in the film really hit home. While the playtime scene was friggin' awesome, the montage of "Andy and his toys" moments and their subsequent cut-off hit me in a way that's indescribable beyond uneasy preparation for what was to come. It just ends before you know it, and I suppose that could be applied to childhood in general.

Speaking of Andy, if you're like me and you grew up with him, that is to say, if you were a kid during the first film and are now a college-bound young adult, I think the ending will be that much more poignant. If I weren't with a friend who was intent on checking to see if I was crying instead of letting me have my moment (You know who you are), my tear ducts would've flooded the entire theater. My throat hurts every time I even think about it.

And then, there's that scene. You know that scene I'm talking about--

Spoiler: click to toggle

But that's not to say only the final moments are worth watching either--

I think I could go on forever talking about this film, and in fact there's a ton I missed out on talking about (like Lots'O <3), but I think the point stands. Toy Story 3 is worth even the ridiculous expenses of 3D. Anyone who hasn't yet seen it where it's available in theaters is committing a cardinal sin. <3

They got Freddy. Poor Freddy.

This movie absolutely was brilliant and more than worth the price of admission. Not much to say that hasn't been said, really. Plus I totally agree with what Bliz said about THAT scene and ending as well. One of the best movies I've seen in my life, and that's not stretching it one bit.

I object to your claims
I've not seen it myself (shoot me if you so dare :P ), but I so want to. Hopefully I'll get my chance before college starts up again.

Actually, I am. XP

I've been wanting to watch this since I saw the first trailer (I think that was when I went to watch Up; or maybe it was Avatar?) but I still haven't gotten the chance to. Usually, if I want to watch a movie at the theater, I go with my friends, but very few (if any) of them are interested in animated films, so... yeah.

I WILL watch this though, even if it means renting the movie when it comes out or something. X3

Just what I had in mind. Everything dead on earth, except us.
I just went to see this, and after having waited for eleven years, I am extremely happy with it. From the beginning to the end, you are completely engaged with the story and as one of those people who grew up along with Andy, it really touched my heart and I could completely feel the connection. I was in tears by the end, the emotions sadness and happiness strangely coinciding, that something could be so wonderful yet tragic yet so hard to let go of. The nostalgia was off the chain! In regards to what Bliz was saying:

Through every twist and turn, the hilarity, the anger, confusion and bliss, there was one thing the film spoke so loudly: love. And I LOVE this film so much, and I. LOVE. SPANISH. BUZZ...and Ken!! XD

If you haven't seen it, you MUST. You will feel something, something rare and special. I know I did. ='D

Pint of real ale please squire!
For a 3rd film in a series, Toy story has ticked all the boxes and got everything right. Really enjoyed it as much as the other two, and a good few times in the film were "oh no they're not going to make it" which gets the pulse racing.

Great with many of the scenes, when referenced to things in the past that got some giggles in the audience (inc me) that have followed the story.

Superb film, especially when you look at Toy Story 1 and how that just kicked ass when it was first released, who knew how much influence it would have in terms of the graphics on todays films. No one thinks twice of computer anmiated films like Shrek, How to train your dragon etc...

Can't wait to get the box set for me DVD collection :)

I haven't seen this, because the movie hasn't yet come to movie theaters here. The previous Toy Story movies have been so awesome that my anticipations on this are high up. Probably what I'm waiting most to see of the new toys in the 3rd movie is that fabulous Ken doll. :D
It is also interesting to see how the movie will conclude the story of Andy and his toys.

Saw it last Thursday, loved it. Granted, I didn't even come close to crying at the end, but that's because I'm an emotionless android. :P I liked the way they pulled in Bonnie into the overall plot, and the twist-ish ending. Although...
