Well Tekken 6 wasn't a very good attempt compared to Tekken 5, but now we have a new game that looks to be pretty cool. Street Fighter characters fighting Tekken characters!

They’re actually making two versions:

Street Fighter x Tekken will be made by Capcom and resemble 2D fighting.
Tekken x Street Fighter will be made by Namco and resemble 3D fighting.

Oh, hey, let's totally forget the idea of Namco X Capcom, that will NEVER work as a fighting game.

...

Seriously, why are they dodging that idea and giving us this instead? I mean, sure, they DID make NxC, but it was a freakin' tactical RPG.
They both have so many franchises to make NxC possible as a fighter, but instead they make Street Fighter 4 with Tekken characters, and Tekken with Street Fighter characters.

^Nothing wrong with that.

Anyway, game looks interesting. Especially since there's two different versions. Will have to see more before picking a version. :B

While this does look interesting, I still want to play NxC. However, I may still check out either version when they come out.
I have an interest in spriting. If anyone has a request, don't hesitate to ask.

Huh? What's that post above me say?

After watching the moment they were shown at comic-con, I'm a little unsure if the 'demo' when Ono played was real or not. Gameplay looks fine and all, and they were working with the Vanilla engine [SF4 engine], but I'm thinking that the team up attacks were just for show. << I could be wrong, but I don't think they would put that much effort such that team attacks would seem so fluent according to characters used. xP

I can only wonder how odd Namco's take at Street Fighter'll turn out, the only time people had projectiles in that game were rare occasions, whereas in Street Fighter, roughly half the cast uses projectiles. Knowing much of a juggle fest Tekken is... yeeah, we'll see what Namco has to say in due time.

Hm, interested but skeptical. I'm a fan of both but admittedly I'm better at 2D fighters. On that note, I am interested in playing a 2D King or a 3D Zangief. And on the plus side Tekken 6 has some really good visuals, so seeing Ryu in them would be nice. The whole projectile thing is a bit of a concern, but I'm willing to bet projectiles will either be tacked onto the end of certain combos or be a slow to start power move (In Tekken vs Street Fighter I mean). Then again I suppose one can sidestep in Tekken. Guess we'll have to wait and see how this turns out.

Now that I think of it I'd really like to see some of Tekken X Street Fighter in action or at least some screenshots. Also... I'm not sure which I like more... I suppose when I was at the arcade the other night I was on Tekken 6 more than Street Fighter 4 though. At least I can win at Tekken. When I think 2D I must be thinking the crossovers like TvC and stuff. Love those to bits.

All this Tekken talk makes me feel like playing some. Should go dig up my copy of Dark Resurrection and chuck it in my PSP.

As much as I like fighting games, I'm really looking forward to the more traditional 2D Street Fighter-esque game than the 3D version Namco plans to release. D:

I just find it silly that the juggling system allows you to pull someone off the floor and back up right to the height they were initially launched. That doesn't happen in many other fighters that I know of, save for Melty Blood.

What is the difference between a duck?

Street Fighter isn't my cup of tea and I haven't really liked Tekken since Tekken 3.

I'll probably rent it but otherwise, it's a pass.

This pretty much. I don't think either will be day one purchases for me. I'm more likely to hire them, put them on to my "To Buy" list and then never actually getting around to doing so. XD
