Also, have you guys ever considered that the developers were too damn lazy to worry about eye colour given the limited pixelation? The jump to 3D was essentially where eye colour came in to play, am I correct? Bang, more rendering to deal with. If I may use an example, Mario made the same jump. His eye colour never showed, aside from box-art, with which they can make his eyes any colour they damn well please, until he made the jump to 3D. Perhaps Sega made a similar movement and did that as well. I don't understand the point of arguing something so trivial. Just accept it. Okay so the game's newer, as I thought. I'll give you that. But, you can't get around the fact that Eggman has changed in the newer games and in Sonic 4. This has been a less subtle, yet significant change. They had graphical technology to make the Eggman the same throughout, and this was not done. Funny how the Eggman change came at the same time as the green eye change... hmmm... funny how both are controversial issues in Sonic 4... Edited by Sonic Adventure 2, Jun 23 2010, 04:18 PM.

I still can't use this. To be so cute and look like Mickey Mouse, he had to give up his sight, and such a Faustian deal haunted him every day. On one particular day when Amy Rose asked for another date, he snapped and decapitated her via Flame Shield. He then moved on to the source of his anger-- Blind Nintendo fans who bought too many consoles and prompted his damned creation in the first place. Despite being blind, they weren't too hard to find for Sonic; Everyone had a Super Nintendo. Meanwhile, Sega was terrified; Their creation was running loose in the streets, so they sent out their best artist, Yuji Uekawa. He was so awesome that one stroke on a piece of paper could summon Cthulu-Zeus riding a gorilla-croc android shooting Hyper Beams. Uekawa found and confronted Sonic and tackled the poor beast, and with a marker, gave him green pupils. Immediately, Sonic's vision returned, and in the aftermath of his rampage, he hugged Uekawa and happily went back to work. He also subsequently lost his home console and was doomed to be a third-party whipping boy for all of eternity. So that's the story of Sonic's green eyes (and Amy's makeover). tl;dr-- He has green eyes because his design was updated and, as a retcon, it is then assumed he always had them regardless. Also, the Genesis did indeed have the graphical capabilities to make his eyes green and aesthetically pleasing; That's almost like saying the Genny couldn't render color. The reason they didn't give him green eyes was because it wouldn't in any way be relevant to his current design which depicted him with black eyes. That's it; There's no mystery to this.

With the Internets Bliz has just won, she had harnessed them in a distributive system which allowed her to discover how to time travel. She traveled back in time, got into Sonic Team's maze of cubicles with a green colored pencil and an electric sharpener. The rest is history.
