Welcome fellow Sonic fans, to my theory on the ever so controversial subject of the last week or so...

Sonic's Eye color

the subjects has been around for who knows how long...but I think I can finally put those arguments to rest with my theory...so let's start

Overview

Sonic's eye color has always been green since the dawn of the modern era of Sonic, starting with Sonic Adventure on the dreamcast. Ever since then Sonic has had green eyes...

Now I won't go into much detail so lets get to the actual theory I have

Theory
* Images ahead*

while my theory is basic, it is also quite true, so here it comes.
Sonic's eyes have always been green...
How could that be though? well allow me to show you:

the three pictures you see look quite...normal at first, but upon closer inspection of the second and third you'll be surprised to see Classic and Modern Eggman in the Same game...

In a short explanation: Sonic has always had Green Eyes, because sense Eggman made his "transformation" to modern here, and Sonic never did... he must have had Green eyes sense the genesis days...

Well I was going to say "Oh great first the whole Nazo theory crap and now this?" But it does at least make sense. Though I didn't know that was when he went modern.

But really, we shouldn't need to have this, not that it doesn't make sense, but if a fan base drives down to complaining about the eye color of the character, it really makes you think of the state of the fan base.

*in before SA2 comes in*

Why'd you make this topic? I hoping this green eye shit would go to rest after SA2's topic got locked.

Good theory though... I guess. Let's just hope that's that.

Eh, I'm fine with dicussing how Sonic got his green eyes as long as the topic doesn't evolve into some kind of an insipid arguement like the last 'green eye' thread we have.

My theory? I truely think Sonic's always had green eyes.

What game is this? It looks like the Neo Geo Pocket one. If this is the case, this game came out after the Adventure series. Therefore, Eggman is correct, and a black eyed Sonic is incorrect to the time line. Either way, something is wrong because the neo Eggman and neo Sonic came to life at the same time as Adventure series (modern era), not apart as this game signifies.

That's sorta what I am getting at, because if Sonic had green eyes before Eggman had his SA1 look, he must of had the Green eyes his whole life

why can't we just say he had green eyes the whole time and his pupils were dilated the whole time and be done with it?

Zoom in real close. He has green irises in the first two pictures.

Author's note: Bear with me if I'm wrong. I don't do my homework. >_<

Also, have you guys ever considered that the developers were too damn lazy to worry about eye colour given the limited pixelation? The jump to 3D was essentially where eye colour came in to play, am I correct? Bang, more rendering to deal with. If I may use an example, Mario made the same jump. His eye colour never showed, aside from box-art, with which they can make his eyes any colour they damn well please, until he made the jump to 3D. Perhaps Sega made a similar movement and did that as well. I don't understand the point of arguing something so trivial. Just accept it.

Sonic had green eyes his entire life? That does make perfect sense. Now, if they made his eyes just a little bit bigger in the classic Sonic games, then we could tell for sure. Anyways, I agree with you on this.

People are looking at this as the game's continuity. The perfectly obvious answer is simple: Back when the first few games were made, they didn't have the graphical capabilities to make the eyes look green while still looking good. Once the 3D games were made, they were able to color his eyes properly. He'd just look akward with pure black eyes in 3D, and ever since then they just made his eyes green.
