Lava Reef Act 2
|
I was navigating gamefaqs and I found this: http://www.gamefaqs.com/3ds/997833-sonic-working-title Apparently, it's called Sonic (working title) and it's a plan for a game on the 3DS. Anyone have more info on this? It's also listed here: http://www.sonicretro.org/2010/06/sonic-3ds-title/ Hopefully all these Sonic games won't be too much for Sega to handle... No, I'm thinking a mainstream Sonic game. One that we probably can't guess the concept of. (because whether they're good or bad, Sonic Team has a history of surprising their fans) |

What if this Sonic 3DS game was that rumored Prequel? It makes sense, It just depends if the 3DS is coming out next year ( I'm assuming this 3DS Sonic game is a launch title like SFR) |

I doubt it. If the prequel is true and seeing it's Sonic's 20th Anniversary next year, I doubt it would be on a handheld for the 20th Anniversary game. |

I think the 3DS is a neat idea to get 3D out there to the masses, it's just the 3D is highly inferior to 3D capable TVs. It's not real 3D, it's just depth of field, and has to be held at the right angle to work. To me it's just another gimmick to help it sell with graphics that are no better than what's already out there on handhelds. But as we all know, Nintendo has found that it's not games that sell your hardware it's what kind of wacky feature you include with it. Still better than the ipod though, but I sadly won't get to play this game. |

Yes, because Nintendo's the only one with consoles that have features unnecessary to playing games, right? Because the PS3 and 360 are basically not multi-media machines that just happen to have game-playing capabilities, right? Because Microsoft and Sony stuck their middle finger up to 3D and motion controls, right? "Eez awl abowt teh gaemz!" Please. Anyways, the 3D you see on televisions and even film isn't "real 3D" either. That would involve projection tech we just absolutely don't have. All of this stuff is best comparable to a virtual pop-up book in the way it is done, and all of it is limited by the screen, your angle from the screen, and your physical reserve, which makes the "3D" moniker a bit of a misnomer. Add onto that fact that it always tends to downgrade the picture quality, and it is always best implemented when you actually don't notice it (subsequently annoying me about the frackin' ridiculous surcharges), and you'll understand why I'm starting to not flip out over this fad anymore. Everyone can go screw it. |

I suggest at least seeing the 3D for yourself before saying anything. And trust me. Like I told one person about the 3DS, Nintendo knows how to make something revolutionary. I recall Sony and Microsoft laughing at Nintendo for its motion ideas but look at them now, having their own motion devices after Nintendo sells millions. Not to mention they're also interested in 3D too. So I doubt this will be just 'another gimmick.' Also, have you seen the graphics? Nintendo announced the graphics are much improved and run at a high power or something. So it's going to be much improved then the actual DS and those graphics from the Kid Icarus trailer look beautiful and detailed like a Wii game although I'm not sure what the PSP's graphics are like. |

I like this post. I agree. The first game should not be a spin-off. I'd like a canon Sonic game. |

Just like to point out that nearly every recent Sonic game released on a Nintendo console (Ie Wii, Gameboy and DS) have all been 'spin off' games and not 'canon'. |

Sonic Adventure 2 was not a spin-off. Nor was the SA1 remake, Mega Collection, etc. Nor do I qualify "Rush" as a spin-off game. Again, it depends on what one determines a game as a spin-off and what one doesn't. And if you say it like this, then Sonic is no longer canon because a current gen Sega console is nonexistent. EDIT: You said recent. And that's why I'm not a fan of any of the recent games. Sonic 4 is supposed to be canon, but in my own theories, I beg to differ. Still, if you qualify it as canon, then Sonic has had (or will have) a recent canon game. What's also to the fact is that just because the new games aren't all canon does not mean we won't get another Sonic canon game. And that phrase again depends on what one interprets a game canon or not. Edited by Sonic Adventure 2, Jun 28 2010, 02:41 PM.

Blarg, I already figured that. I guess by spin-off I meant, like, non-platforming game. yeah. |
