Lava Reef Act 2

Because this rant has reached other topics and I can't talk about it there, I've decided to make a new topic on it in the mod/admin favor of not mentioning it elsewhere. Sonic's green eye color makes no sense in Sonic 4. Sonic 4 is part of an original classic series in which Sonic's eyes were not green. Then, the green eye came in 1999. I mark this Sonic's evolution. Theoretically speaking, Sonic evolved into a 3D genre and an "era of good feelings" when he first got the green eyes in Sonic Adventure and Adventure 2. Now, Sonic Team is rewriting history. They are putting a modern green-eyed Sonic in a classic world. This makes no historical sense to the story which is why I don't like the idea. Surely this reason alone will not make me dislike the game Sonic 4. I will still critique the game on everything else besides Sonic's eye color. But the one thing I will not do is call Sonic 4 a classic when the modern Sonic is in it. It does not deserve to be called a classic when a "new" aspect is added to an old series, completely changing it. Sonic 4 can still virtually be a great and even awesome game in my eyes, but it will never compare to the originals in terms of a classic due to Sonic's modern eye color. That is my take on the whole controversial issue. |

Well now that Sonic 4 is about to be out, we can disregard all of the ones that came out after Sonic 3 & Knuckles and consider it the true sequel.

Oh my god, are you people still arguing about this? ...Well, we've kinda gotten off the topic about eye colour now, but that's a good thing, really. |

The day Sonic's eye color will matter, is the day humans learn to walk in mid-air. Oh my god, oh my god, I'm doing it, I'M DOING IT!(Falls hysterically) Ow. |

You must mean a mass population. Because it matters to me and I'm not walking in mid-air.
I have mentioned this same change before, but it is less to defend in a debate. Sonic did not have the shoes in the originals no, and I do think this serves as a relevant argument, however, shoes are replaceable, eyes are not. So there's really no point to argue this one when a plethora of explanations can explain it. You can't explain the return-to-modern eyes in a retro game like you can explain a new pair of shoes. He meant to... y'know... the entire fan base. Also, you said you're on break and yet you keep coming back to post... But Ray, you can't explain how the size of his quills increased either! Edited by Fenroar, Jun 20 2010, 10:27 AM.

I was on a break, a short one. But I had a PM from someone that got me rolling again. And if he says mass population, that's fine. I'll agree with that, but all I'm saying is that it matters to me. That should not be a problem saying that, should it? I don't think so. Therefore, this topic is not pointless in my sense. And if everyone thinks it is, don't post, because if you post, ever the more to believe that this topic serves a point since it is 6 pages long (and not all my doing). Eh, whatever. Like I told you before you left, I'm done arguing with you. That break didn't seem to change you at all as you're starting arguments again. Edited by Fenroar, Jun 20 2010, 10:34 AM.

I'm not arguing. I'm just saying this topic means something to me. It's not pointless in my eyes. That's all I said basically. That's an answer to my PMs, various comments, etc. I'm defending my own belief. I don't intend on arguing myself, but I will defend my belief which is rightfully mine. I'm just reminding people that I can make something meaningful if I want it to be meaningful. Other people should not hold me back. But, if you are done "arguing" (notice in quotes since this is not really an argument at all), then why do you come back? It's no different than me returning from a break. But like I said, I'm defending what other people have told me is pointless. This belief is not pointless to me. And now I can leave in peace since my point is across. seeing as you are now discussing an argument, and not really on the original topic at hand, I'm locking this topic. |
