Well it will take forever on slower router which it will never finish and be finished like 4 hours, our router just can't take the downloading abuse any longer.

Personal observation is that y'might be out of luck and that download is the only way you'll end up with it. shrug You'll may never know what they'll do heck Since Valve made Steam for mac and If I get TF2 for PC I can get TF2 for Mac for Free with the Steam Play Feature how cool is that?

You do realize that either way retail versions are simply Steam with the cache files for the game. You still need to run Steam to play unless you go into Offline Mode, and even so you had to have had the game's cache files updated to the latest version to do so.
