Is PlayReady PC Runtime x86 essential?

Flying Battery Act 2
In the process of uninstalling all bloatware from my laptop, I stumbled upon a program called PlayReady PC Runtime x86. Google threw up no clear answers as to what this does, or whether I need it. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out. ;)
