And how do you know that it is now? Give an example, don't just say it sucks without proof.
There's still no set in stone "proof" of widespread hardware failure as far as the disc drive is concerned. The experimentation was not appropriately handled which is why it holds no clout in the industry. That Wiki page didn't convince me a cent. Again, the newer consoles of the line have probably eradicated whatever limited problem there was with the disc drive. From what I can gather you've condemned the Xbox in your mind based on prior experience.. it's understandable because I condemn Sony for having 7 PS2 failures and no help with any (the old support sucked horribly for me) so I understand fully. I just hope you can give the NXE a fair shot sometime, you'll see that the old problems aren't prevalent at this time.

As far as Sony customer service is concerned, they've treated my PS3 owning friend alright so I have no gripes to speak of on my end.

As you just said, its all about preferences and such Bowie. We were treated rather bad Microsoft over this disk drive issue we went through. I'm just glad we found some people that professionally fix them. My mom had to spend about eighty dollars to get my disk tray fixed by the Play N Trade. My 360 works right now, I just hope it stays that way. My trust will likely come back up later, but who knows.

As for PS2, my PS2 did fail once, it just stopped reading disks, then after awhile after Sony repaired it, like around two years maybe, it did it again. BY that time though, my dad had a ton of Sony points on his Sony credit card. He used some of them to buy me a new slim PS2, and I've not had one problem with the Slim version. I still have my thicker PS2,but it just sits around now.
I'm a gamer and always will be a gamer. If you don't believe me. I have 430 Video Games and 19 Consoles.

I doubt you could beat that unless you are a gamer as well! =P

So, let's see if you can outdo "The Jet Gamer"

I had problems with the slim and the fat so me and the PS2 just didn't mix, but I may give Sony another shot with the PS3. The most intriguing feature is using it for PSP ad-hoc partying in Infrastructure-like ways. Granted, I can use Xlink Kai for that just as soon (I already do), but the PS3 version is more stable.

As for the games.. Killzone 2, Haze, God of War 3 maybe.. and whatever else I may like could be good compliments in time to my 360 library.

For me, I've only had one Xbox 360 faliure but I bought a launch unit (lucky as hell to get it) and it did RROD all the way back in mid-06, but it was fixed for free and I haven't had a problem since.. and I don't even believe my system runs a Jasper, but I've always liked Microsoft customer support, they've come through when I've needed em' I just can't say the same for Sony. =c

And I'd still pic either over the Wii.. I love Nintendo but this endeavor just never caught on with me.

Well for someone that doesnt find violence, online gaming and shooters at the top of his lists, 360 is usually lowest on the list. I know that's not what 360 is all about, but all the big game son it are in that category, and shooters have little to no interest with me at times.

360. The Wii has begun to bore me with it's ridiculus amount of shovelware(generic argument is generic)and stupidly easy games(I beat SSBB's SSE in a week),and I don't own a PS3.And the 360 is the only way I can play Super Street Fighter IV(My favorite next-gen fighter)! XD

Actually,I really like the Wii,just not as much as the 360.Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and Super Mario Galaxy are great Wii games, but,as I said before,my 360 is the only way I can play my favorite next-gen fighting game...and JSRF.

The Wii definately. It has most awesome games such as Brawl, The Metroid Trilogy, Mario Kart, The Galaxy Series & games that also appealed to the Casuals such as the "Wii" series. Internet Compatibility is also awsome.

I still can't use this.

As much as I've railed against the Wii for both its technical and philosophical failures, it's nonetheless provided me some of the most entertainment I've had with a console since the N64 days. Galaxy, Brawl, Wiiware downloads of classic games, and upcoming titles like Colors and Donkey Kong Country Returns are more than enough to satisfy me for years to come. The 360 would be a close second for similar reasons, although its premier catalog doesn't suit my tastes as much as the Wii's does.

I don't count the PS3 as my experience with it is limited. Had it for a week before my bro sold it for gas money! :P

Digsaea 3 and LittleBigPlanet = <3. Both of which are getting sequels which look AMAZING. Then there's the Sonic games and BlazBlue.

I'd like to add something I've noticed in the months since I posted in this topic.

When I go out to buy used games, I've sometimes noticed the 360 version of a game will be $5 to $10 cheaper than the PS3 version, especially if the game's been out for a while. I don't think I've ever had an instance where a PS3 version was cheaper. At best the 360 and the PS3 would both be the same price. And I've observed this in a few different stores too, so I know it's not just one store. I wonder why that is. Is it because PS3 games have to be put on those Blu Ray discs?

In any case, if you like to buy lots of used games like me, it's something you should consider.
