Kinda shocked their isn't a topic about this, so I guess I'll be teh first to post it? ;]

Quote:

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has offered the first concrete information about the next DS system -- as in, not the next revision of the current DS, but the true next Nintendo handheld system -- in an interview with the Asahi Shimbun newspaper. "[It will have] highly detailed graphics," Iwata said, "and it will be necessary to have a sensor with the ability to read the movements of people playing." Sort of like the iPhone, yes, but Nintendo isn't exactly an also-ran in the field of motion-controlled gaming. Iwata declined to specify a release window for this DS2 -- or a better name than our suggestion.

Iwata also addressed potential service changes for both the current DS network and its successor, suggesting that there would be no "monthly service plan" offered for games. He indicated that Nintendo was looking to increase the number of businesses that host DS Wi-Fi hotspots instead of supporting a 3G-like service (à la Kindle or iPhone) for the DS. The "Mac de DS" service Nintendo provides in partnership with McDonald's offers free wireless connections for the handheld, along with exclusive downloadable content.

In Wii news, Iwata dropped one bomb that will delight fans ... and one that will probably initiate eyerolls. First, the good news: The new Zelda game -- sort of revealed at E3 last year -- is scheduled for release by the end of 2010. And now, that other news: The Wii Vitality Sensor, the bizarre biofeedback attachment also unveiled at E3, will be released somewhere in the neighborhood of July, following a press conference about the device.

I dunno what to think about it having a sensor on it, especially a handheld console, just seems very odd to me. The good thing about Nintendo is they don't have many bug/hardware failure problems... from what I know anyways.

I don't think I'll be getting this, especially when it first comes out, unless it has amazing games for it that I just really want to play. I think I'll be satisfied with my PSP for awhile. :D

So what you guys think about the DS2?

Huh. First I've heard about this, which surprises me since I'm a member at NinDB. Well, if I may, you got a source on that? News like this should go global.

Hopefully they make the L and R triggers sturdier. You don't know how hard it is playing M&S2 with busted triggers. Among other games, but I'm doing sucky as Sonic in speed skating. Something's wrong with this picture.

It's eternally tragic that that which is magic be killed at the end of the glorious chase. From young seals to great whales, from waters to wood, they will fall just like leaves in the wind. With perfumes and fur coats and trophies on walls, what a hell of a race to call men.

Yeah, knew about this for awhile now, apparently Game Freak/The Pokemon Company has spent the most time with the kit, witch points to the 5th generation game being a possible title on release.

I saw this a while back. It looks to be a very good release. I also like that they are upgrading the graphics. Also I am glad they gave somewhat of an idea when the new zelda game is going to come out.

I object to your claims
A new DS that actually is a new DS and not an upgrade to the orginals?

Must get.

i just wwant to be beautiful for this one month
Meh, sounds not-so amazing to me.

For one, it probably won't support GBA games, like the DS doesn't support GBC games. And in my opinion, there's too many games I don't want to throw out.
Second, the sensor stuff sounds really meh. The Wii's isn't that great (well, it's not bad, but it's not amazing), why would there be anything better on a smaller console?
i'm actually really sorry bout this

Heh, maybe this new system will have better games than the last. I kinda hated the DS lite because the only games i could play were pretty much sprite games. Hopefully this system will have alot better graphics quality.

I pretty much agree with everything you said.

Although I do enjoy the Wii a little bit, it gets boring after awhile.
