my neck hurts Posts: 385 Group: E Rank Knight Member #10,771 Joined: February 16, 2010	I'll start off with what I'm doing- I'm going to give you a full digital picture, colored and shaded, preferably, of your Sonic Fan-Character, and I'll do an official character if you really want me to. Why? Well, I'm at a bit of an artistic stump right now, so I'm hoping that this will help me get out of it. All I'm going to need from you is these fairly obvious things: A picture / good description of your character. Unless of course it's a cannon one. The pose and expression, but nothing too complicated(if you wanna' know what that'd be for me, just ask). I have a few rules aswell: You only have to give me credit if someone asks you who made it. Otherwise, just don't claim as your own, and we're cool. There's no guaranteed period of time this will take, so don't start wining if I don't get it done right away. But, I'll be letting you know why it's taking too long if it takes over a week. Otherwise, the expected time is 3 days. I may and probably will submit it elsewhere, unless you'd really prefer otherwise. If I do, I'll be sure to give you full credit for the character; don't worry about that. So yeah. One other thing you should know, the style I'll be drawing them in is slightly more traditionally anthropomorphic than normally, but not too much. If you've seen the other picture I've posted on you, no, it's not quite like that. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. Other than that, QEQUEST AWAY! I read his profile and it's fine, but I'm not sure how you imagine a Sonic styled beetle. The only thing I have to go off of is the sprite in your sig, and I can't really see as much of him as I'd like to in that.

The sprite pretty much shows it all besides his chest and stomach area which are a dark brown compared to the rest. I can easily show you another sprite that shows him without his arms crossed and describe the way his boots are. (Basically brown combat boots with a metal spike curving up from the toe.) As for the pose what i was thinking of was Dre standing straight looking forward facing the person viewing the drawing (if that makes any sense) With a normal, happy grin on his face. And standing behind him back to back looking over Dre's shoulder his split personality with that twisted smile and psychotic look on his face. I can pm you any other info you need, just let me know what and I'll get on it. I also have an unfinished hand drawing i started of him if that might help you get an idea of how he would look.

But I really wanted to know if he had any patterns or anything(having an external skeleton and all). And I get you with the pose, facing the viewer, kinda breaking the fourth wall. @ Rock Kenaro- Coincidentally enough, I'm almost finished one right now, on the feeling that you guys may want an example. Also, I didn't just start a new sketch, it was nearly done when I did this topic. And I could probably do an avatar. @Zak- I can work with that. Any variations to that you wanna' throw in? Also, I don't need a reference for the pose, just tell me what you want them to be doing. And for anyone wondering, no, I didn't make the avatar I have at the time of this post. That was made by a guy over on dA. creeps back into corner

So here's my first example, in flat color. The only thing I don't really like is the hands, so they'll be a bit more Sonic-esque in the requests. Oh, also sorry that the boring BG is boring. Spoiler: click to toggle The next one is more just like the simpler kinds, with one layer of sahding and 1 of lighting. I used the airbrush, becuase it would've just looked really sloppy after that, and I was already in a bit of a rush, so if I do this one for you, I'll take more time with it: Spoiler: click to toggle This one is with a style of shading primarily done with the dodge & burn tools: Spoiler: click to toggle And that's pretty much it. Leave your opinions! And if you ask(ed) for a request, please specify which shading style, or if you'd prefer flat color.
