Sandopolis Act 2
|
"If I could explain it, I mastered it; if I mastered it, I wouldn't have been in that cell. Whole lot of metaphysical mumbo-jumbo, all I know for sure is that certain people are able to 'jump' between dimensions with... I'd say 'a thought', but it's a bit more than that," Taylor said. "Inborn kind of trait. One in, say, ten billion or so get it." |
| Indeed, there is nothing more repulsive than these monsters that defy nature and are known by the name of witcher, as they are the offspring of foul sorcery and witchcraft. They are unscrupulous scoundrels without conscience and virtue, veritable creatures from hell capable only of taking lives. They have no place amongst decent and honest folk. | |

Blaire raised an eyebrow. "And you were one of those one in ten billion?" she asked. "How very interesting, I must admit." |

Sandopolis Act 2

"Not exactly time for my life's story, though. We should get topside. If we're one kind of lucky, we might be able to catch the guy, see if he's a friend or not. If we're a different kind of lucky, he'll have gone in another direction and might end up lost," Taylor said. "I'm not exactly a fan of caves." |

"Not a fan of caves? Does that mean he's actually in the base?" Blaire asked, wondering just where this guy was. |

"No, not that I can be certain of; I just don't like being underground. Gets me a little jittery," Taylor said. "Can we get going now, please? Before I end up breaking or melting something?" |

Before I end up breaking or melting something? "Melting something? What's that about?" Blaire mused to herself, her eyebrow still raised. She then uncrossed her arms and placed them behind her back. "Well, sure we can go. Think you'll be able to lead the way?" Edited by HollyYoshi, Mar 1 2010, 08:28 PM.

"Umm... yeah, think so," Taylor said as he headed out. Only Taylor didn't know the layout of the underground compound that well, so it took a good fifteen minutes before he ended up back out on the surface. He knelt down and sunk his fingers into the grass. "Hoo, that's better. Now if I concentrate, I should be able to track the fella... okay, that's just not right. I can sense the leftovers of entry, but not the guy himself. Like he just dropped off the face of the planet right after appearing. It just doesn't happen like that." He stood up and shook his head. "Or maybe I'm just feeling things that aren't there. Could be my own allegorical dust cloud I was looking at just now." |

Though it took a while, Taylor finally led Blaire back to the surface. "I could have asked me to help him at least get out of the base. After all, I know this place like the back of my paw." She watched as the human tried to track the guy-only to have a feeling that he left seconds after he arrived. "So assuming it's the first thing, perhaps he just transported himself to the wrong area." |

"Maybe. Or he could also have gone off in some other direction, or does a better job of keeping a low profile. He still might be a problem, but I don't think we should drop everything and run him down. Got to stay focused," Taylor said. "So the dock was... south, he said?" |

Blaire gave a little nod of confirmation. "South it was. Now, wait one moment, I have a couple of friends that may be able to help us," the canine said, ducking back into the base. Moments later, she returned with a yellow-furred Bengal Tiger, who looked to be at least twenty. "Well, it seems as if Aurora and Chester were assigned a mission in Robotropolis. Luckily, Drake here happens to know some of the dock workers." |

When Blaire left, Taylor conjured a small fireball and played around with it while he waited. Blaire got back just as he finished spiraling it along his arm into his palm. "Ah. That ought to make things go a bit quicker," he said as he tossed the fireball into the other hand. Then he tightened his fist around it, putting out the flame and giving rise to a plume of smoke from between his index finger and thumb. |

"So he's a pyrokinetic," Blaire thought to herself, tapping her left temple. "That explains his melting comment quite well." The husky cleared her throat. "I'd like you to meet Agent Drake McStrype. He's the team's espoinage agent, and a good friend of mine." "Hello," Drake said simply, not much for talking. |

"Hey, Drake, nice to meet ya, I'm Taylor," he said, nodding. "You going all the way with us or are you done when we get the sub?" |

"I'd figure I'd come with you the whole way," the tiger relayed to him. "That is, unless Blaire here says otherwise." The canine shook her head. "Not at all." |

"Cool," Taylor said. "Shall we press on? There'll be time to get to know each other better once we've cast off, I'm pretty sure it'll be a long ride." |
