Okay, after lots of hard thinking I got the name Jade. I know it rhymes with Shade, but trust me, that is NOT the point. I was trying to think back to old stories I've written and think of girl names from them and the most suiting was Jade. So unless there already is a character called Jade, It's officially Jade. |

Okay, lets get into detail here. Height: A bit tall for a mobian. They are normally four foot something, barely. The only 'tall' ones I can think of are Big the cat and Vector. Personality: A bit more would be nice, as that is more like a statement then a personality. Hobbies/Talents: Training can be a hobby I guess. But killing and destroying as hobbies and/or talents? Not sure about those. Talents are things your character can do with their abilities. Like, being a skilled swimmer would be a talent. Able to climb mostly anything would be a talent. Killing and destroying, to me, seems odd... Unless your character was an assassin, THEN I could see killing as a talent. If anything, I'd just remove destroying. Other Friends, Rivals, Enemies: There is a rule of thumb here that throwing official characters into a bio is a bad thing. And this is the reason why; Blaze and Silver are from different places. One, Blaze is from another dimension. Two, Silver is from the future. Your 'friends' contradicts your rivals and enemies. Silver has never met Sonic before, because of the ending of 06, and because Silver is from the future. So! How can your character be in the future AND in the present at the same time? This also follows with Blaze. How can your character be in two different dimensions? Sonic is from one, and Blaze is from another. This is why we recommend not having official Sonic characters added into a fan character's bio. Skills: I'd just stop at 'Can Dig through almost anything.' For one, 'punch/punching' isn't a skill. Also, if you want your character to pick up movements, then put heighten senses/hearing. Also, if someone is a ninja, your not going to know if their coming up behind hind just by 'knowing.' There has to be a reason. Which is why I said put heighten hearing. Strengths/Weaknesses: These should be battle related and have something to do with how they fight. As well, your weaknesses should be the opposite of your strengths. History: Try to add more. How? talk about how she obtained the skills she has and so forth. |

^ Actually, I think after some of the advice given here your character profile is starting to come along nicely. You've gotta understand that by posting up your fan character here, you will recieve some form of constructive critisism from those who want to help you improve. It goes the same for everyone. If you aren't willing to welcome evaluation of your work, you're gonna have a hard time finding a place that doesn't do this. It's like that with anything one creates - nothing is perfect, there is always room for improvement, and there will always be critics. At least you have people here who care enough to take the time to read your profile and suggest these improvements. Nobody here is insulting your work, please don't take it harshly. I'd say the advice i've seen here is pretty fair, and it does make sense. It has been backed up with an explanation, it's not just being thrown at you without purpose. Ultimately, it is your choice what you want to take from this, but that doesn't mean you should give up. NEVER give up, is what I say. Edited by Dee. Chaos, Feb 8 2010, 12:31 PM.

We are trying to help, not be big meanies, remember, every character has flaws in their own special ways, you just gotta use your imaginaaaation-*shot for spongebob reference*-and be creative and fix it up. Don't take our helping as an offense, we are trying to make it better. |

okay sorry, i'm just kind of sick of people telling me things i already know, with tthe thing about canon characters. One last thing: DO YOU EXPECT ME TO MAKE UP NEW FAN CHARACTERS FOR FRIENDS? God-dang it if i want her to be friends with Blaze and Silver I can make her friends with Blaze and Silver! |

I never said NOT to be friends with either of them, I'm saying they conflict each other. If your going to be friends with canon characters, then you have to stick to THEIR already thought up plot and background. I was simply saying that the reason we don't encourage canon characters in fan character's bios, is because you have to make up your background with THEIR background. Now, if your background story explained how your character went into the future, and met Silver, and/or went into a Blaze's dimension, but still managed to return to Sonic and friend's dimension and point in time, then that is fine with me. But anyways, you don't have to listen to me, or anyone here for that matter. We're simply trying to help you out, and if you don't want our help then say so. |

Agreed with LilHeart. The canon character thing kind of messes up your character because then, like LilHeart said, Jade has to conflict against the CANON CHARACTER'S story. And, we understand you are tired of people telling you how to fix your character and stuff, but....we're just trying to help you. Really, don't take it as an offense. We just trying to be helpful, honest. But I understand if your fed up with all the helping, I got fed up with it too when I made up Kanata and I fixed it up well and now my profile is really good. So, you should be more patient and keep listening to their advice, I think it actually really helps and it is very thorough, which makes it easier to understand.

One problem with the Internet is that since all comunication is in the written word, you don't know if we're talking in a freindly tone, or a harsh one. It's generaly considered a rule that you can't included cannon characters in your bio because , like lilheart said, it tends to contradict to their story line. You have to work reeeeealy hard to make it work, but it's possible. I've seen a few characters that do this quite nicely. If you really want to keep silver and blaze in there, you can if you do it the right way. The problem is that you aren't. I don't mean to sound harsh, but your history is to short. If you can lengthen it to explain how you met them and what thy did together. Your not alone, trust me. You can look in any other topic and see the same kind of critiques, and a few the same kind of mistaking those criteques for insults. |

Sorry, I don't know much about Silver's storyline. I don't have a PS3 or Xbox 360 so I can't play Sonic '06. Oh, and Jade is supposed to be really tall. |

...Well then if you don't know much about his storyline, and therefore not much about Silver himself aside from 'he's a good guy and he's telekinetic' why would you want to have your character be friends with him in the first place? .... .... ... If you just know that, and no more, don't include Silver in the bio. It really jacks up the profile and makes it hard to understand and there will be too many plot holes. I think it would be best if you just didn't put any canon characters in your profile at all. |
