Who got MAG? I wasn't really going to get it, but then I decided at the last minute to get it since I saw the good reviews it had gotten and since I discovered I had enough money for it and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. I'm glad I got it, because it's fun. It's not like COD where you're a one man army, this game requires teamwork and if you don't use teamwork, your team will lose. Plus with so many players in one game, there's always action somewhere.

I was thinking of getting it, but it seemed kind of meh when I had the Beta, and seeing footage of it now, it didn't look all that different. But as long as you're enjoying it. ^_^

It is different from the beta. I didn't like the earlier betas, but the final one was much better. The full game has better graphics and many changes as reported in the beta.

I didn't notice very much of a change between the final beta and the full game. It is amazing though.

As for the gameplay changes they are more subtle, but they are improvements that many wanted changed.

Eh, I didn't really like it. It feels so out of date despite the large number of players in a match. Graphics are good, but very underachieving when you consider this is a PS3 exclusive. Most of the guns look weird or just like pure crap. My biggest complaint was the transition to your iron sights. Instead of a nice smooth transition like we see in most shooters, *cough KZ2* the iron sights just appear there. It can feel disorienting at times and just plain weird.

One thing I like about MAG though is the character customization and unlockables. The characters look really sweet and you have a lot of awesome gear to equip. SVER was probably my favorite PMC simply because of the hockey masks and hoodies. I like that you can unlock different weapons and skills. The skills are really helpful and you can feel the differences.

In the beta there was about 3 different kinds of guns that you could unlock for each class (Assault, Sniper, LMG, etc.) Is there still the same amount of guns in the beta or is there significantly more in the final game? Another problem I had was most of the weapons feeling the same with different statistics. I unlocked all of the assault rifles, but they all felt the same. I only used the final one simply because it had the best stats.

Can you have more then one character in the full game? I hated having to only use one PMC at a time. If I wanted to change PMC's just to see what it was like, I would have to delete my old character losing my rank and all of my unlocks. I could only play with my friends if they were the same PMC, I wouldn't mind changing PMC's if I didn't have to lose all of my hard earned work. Being able to make more then one character would be great.

I admit I'm guilty for not playing the actual game yet. All of my problems were based on what I experienced in the beta. I read the link about beta vs. final game. The changes just aren't enough for me.

Uh, don't judge the game on a beta. Many things have been updated. As far as the graphics go they are really good considering you have 256 players in one game, more players on screen than most games can hold in an entire match, and Zipper has never been about graphics but pushing the limits on online gaming. Socom was the most popular online game for PS2 and launched console online gaming into the mainstream.

And actually after you achieve rank 60 you can go into a veteran mode(similar to prestige in MW2) that allows you to keep your upgrades but start over and choose another faction if you want.

Another good review. Oddly it has gotten mixed reviews with most ranging in the 8-8.5 category. Solid rating, not everything needs to be a 10.

I have to admit, the graphics are shoddy, definitely need to be improved.

Well when you compare it to Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2. The graphics look average to me just not up to the standards of other PS3 games and that's to be expected when you have such huge battles. KZ2 graphics with 256 players would cause massive lag.

Well the characters are great, the environments and guns are bleh. It has some of the worst water graphics I've ever seen. As amazing as the PS3 is, I think this game would have been better off as a PC game. It would be interesting to see the kind of servers people would make. I mean, multiplayer only FPS with tons of people? Doesn't that just scream PC game? Not that I'm saying ALL PC games are multiplayer only fps's though.

I really don't think a PC could handle it without a super-amazing rig.

Well of course it looks like a PC game, it's designed by Zipper which started off making military games for the PC. Anyway the highest number of players in a game for PC I've seen has been 64 in Tribes 2. I know some go higher than that, but outside of MMORPGs which don't have as much going on on the screen I don't know of any.

Don't really like FPS games with large ammounts of people, makes it impossible to live unless you manage to get the douches and the people who don't have mics to cooperate.

I haven't played MAG, but I have played Frontlines: Fuel of war, and it has 50+ people.
