Spinball Jump. Spindash. Homing Attack. Ball Bounce. Burner enters in a Spinball and bends like a bouncy ball upon hitting the ground. When a bouncy ball hits the ground it rebounds back up into the air. This recovery move is used with an uncontrolled descent from one story high. With the use of a 'Power Ring' Burner can use this from a five story high building without undergoing serious injury. Pinball Frenzy. Burner can perform a homing attack on one target to another while rolling on the ground, instead of going airborne. Abilities & Aptitude - Gliding Wings. When extending his wings they pick up air, granting him a slower and more stable descent. Energetic Endurance. He can run hours at top running speed without running low in energy or showing signs of fatigue. Burner's extraordinarily high stamina keeps him up for 4-6 days straight, depending on how much he uses. And with much of his childhood spent in high altitudes it only magnifies his high endurance at sea level. Speed. Being a child of two fast pace parents, bursting into high speeds is genetic. However his speed trait didn't apply only for his running speed. Most things he does are just as fast as his feet: Reading, speaking, hand movements, acknowledgement of surroundings. The list can go on. Water Run. His fast running speeds allows him to sprint on the water’s surface. Weaknesses- Cold Temperatures. Anything 50F or below forces him to stay indoors or wear extra clothing to keep him warm. Ground Conditions. Burner feels at home when his feet are cement pavement. However, wet or frozen pavement plus slipping at high speeds usually equals a disaster waiting to happen. Burner would know, he once twisted his ankle doing so. He hesitates on gravel and grass ground. Swimming. He's a runner, not a swimmer. Despite the fact that he can sprint on the water's surface, Burner finds the ground more welcoming. Ball Fighting Style. All of Burners physical attacks are spinball based, making him a close combat fighter. Physically Fragile. His skinny physical stature cries of being fragile since he rarely enters a fight. If the occasion ever arises Burner's only pack a punch when aided with speed. Claustrophobic. Definition: Fear of enclosed spaces. Burner's running gives him the desire to be in wide open areas. Short. Basketball is the sport Burner enjoys playing. However, his main way of scoring are lay-ups and dunks, which much taller furries can deny because of Burner's short height and light weight. In battle his short size can be an advantage or disadvantage. Personality- He's usually happy and filled with energy. His intelligence in English is above normal with the amount of reading his takes in, yet it's not likely for him to sound as if this applies because of his quick speaking. Big shot to first impressions. Patience varies depending on situations. He knows to wait for a date, who may be 15 minutes late; but time is short. When boredom start coming, Burner will do whatever he can to run from it. He enjoys turning anything into a game, whether it's playing a game in a game or if a situation is just too serious for it. Nonetheless he dares to have fun where ever, whenever; whether if he risks his life to entertain or risks others life’s for the same reason. The only times that his face shows annoyance, to a point of anger, is when the weather is raining. He likes doing things fast, but the weather can make the difference between his fun with speed and being forced to play it safe. Personal Relations- Friends: Tactic Sniper. Swift Fox. TC is one of few friends who can tolerate Burner's fast speech, in fact TC understands much of what he says. Burner's brother, Rim, was the main point guard of the team until TC joined, forcing him to really adjust to a different point guard's style of game play. Years later, when TC joined the police force, Burner kept from pissing him off. The thought of being friends with a cop may give him some coverage in some laws, but he didn't want to push his luck. Tactic, to Burner, is a friend and former basketball teammate. Ruby Anna Lynn. Red Hedgehog. Rim's girlfriend. Burner shares a mutual friendship with the hedgehog, though he shows dislike her from time to time. However, he's somewhat skeptical in Rim having a girlfriend, simply because he doesn't want to be left behind from his closest friend, and only brother. Edge. Blue Porcupine. TC's roommate. Edge and Burner, despite how opposite they, share thing in common: playing the drums. Both gave each other pointers/lessons in drumming, whenever the bird dropped by. However, this as far as their friendship goes: Teacher to Student. Faye Jin Harding. Injured Fennec Fox. Burner quickly fell in love with Faye's hospitable kindness, but her heart was already swayed by Edge. Faye had to tell Burner to lay off when he tried to get close to her, "you're just... always on the move. I won't be able to keep up, not in my state," she paused and held up her cane, "when you find the right girl, you'll know when to slow down." Despite this, Burner and Faye are friends on a more mutual level. He hasn't, once, abused her kindness for a personal gain. Rose. Blue Hedgehog. After soaking in what Lightning said, he made sure to leave this one alone, knowing full on that her heart is with TC. Besides Burner knew that TC is a cop and could really make his life a living hell. He's only spoken a few words with Rose. Sonic the Hedgehog. Blue Hedgehog who's a National Hero. They only have conversation when they bump into each other on the road, which isn't that often. Rivals: Basketball Opponents. Play to win. Rivals on court, friends off court.[/i] Enemies: None. No one really dislikes Burner with a passion and he doesn't hold grudges. Relatives: Father. Road Runner. Mother. Hedgehog. Rim Brandley Drake. Older by seconds. Rim has features of a hedgehog, unlike Burner who looks like a road runner. Also Rim was unfortunate to possess the speed gene, from both of his parents. They carry a strong brotherly bond with each other, even if Rim has a girlfriend in his life. The brothers often share their day's experiences and always have each other’s backs when the other needs help. Personal Information- Hobbies: Reading. Depending on page length, this bird can read a page in about a minute. With enough patience Burner could read one book a day. School book assignments and homework were finished well beyond their due dates, granting Burner more free time. His fast speech and quick reading proves useful in situations, where long instructions need to be completed in a small amount of time. Drumming. A soundproof room was built specifically for instrument playing. Whenever Burner didn't feel like exploring he'd run to his drum set. Talents: High Jump. An "Air-Alert" Program dramatically increased his jumping ability. With this training and light weight, Burner can jump four times his own height. Acrobatics. As Burner got older he began using his skinny body and wing like arms for acrobatic stunts and tricks. Liked/Favorite activities: Freerunning. (Look it up for a better description.) Traveling fast in a straight line give Burner little excitement. When it came to racing "straightaway’s are for amateurs". Exploring. When Burner's out for a run he spends the time exploring streets and side streets of many different zones. Dust Showers. Basketball. Since a teenager he's developed a joy for the sport, alongside with his brother Rim. He is best when performing layups, however his short stature allow taller players to get easy blocks. Burner proves to be a nightmare for an offensive player to get by with his endless tank of energy and speed. Disliked/Least activities: Wet. Burner is paranoid of being wet. When the forecast is rainy one can assume that Burner will be waiting it out, or at least slowing down for safer travels. Keeping Still. There aren't many times were you'll see this bird staying in one place for too long. Fighting. There aren't many times were you'll see this bird staying in one place for too long. Enclosed Areas. See Claustrophobic in 'Weaknesses' field. EX Gear Racing. Burner finds himself in joy with speeding on his feet, only to be passed by some lazy furry on a hoverboard. Burner fears that this new fad will end those who do their stunts on foot. Also the EX WGPs tend to be life risking events isn't almost anything goes. Habits: Burned Out. When Burner empties his stamina he enters a deep slumber for one to two days straight, in order to replenishing his energy for the next 4-6 days. Pointlessly Speaks. Burner speaks so fast that words are sometimes hard to understand and catch what's he's saying, which usually results in people ignoring him or telling him to "shut up". As Burner was growing up he began adding more to what he wants to say than what's needed. With that there are times where he'd simply go WAY off topic. One second talking about a book and a minute later he's chattering about wall paper (and that's just one example). Favorite Gourmet: banana Favorite Beverage: Gaiteraid Favorite Color(s): white Theme Song:"Spagonia ~ Rooftop Run Day" by Tomoya Ohtani and Mariko Nanba from <Sonic Unleashed> Physical Appearance- Feather Color: red, black, and yellow streak ascents on the feathers of his wings Skin Color: white Hair Color: dark red Hair Style: short and spiked Eye Color: teal Eyelids: dark red Beak: yellow, smooth and dull at the tip Chest: Tail: one arm's length Other Body Features: Thin. His tail is 1/6^th of his body weight. His wings are located on his arms and can spread out one foot when extended and contracts so close to his body that it feels like it wasn't there. Attire- 0. Underclothing. (Clothing normally worn unless stated otherwise.) Red briefs. White soaks. White gloves. 1. Street Clothes. Shirtless. If needed he'll wear the shirt from the Attire #3. Basketball shorts. White soapbox shoes. Goggles, to protect the eyes. 2. Basketball Uniform. White/red (away) or black/red (home) basketball top and shorts. Basketball specific shoes. Plain red sweat band for the head and wrists. 3. Night Run Set. (White is the brightest color thus very seeable at night, the safety stripe is for precaution as Burner rather not get ran over because someone can't see him.) Pure white tank-top with a yellow capital "I" safety stripe where the spine would be. White/red basketball shorts. White soapbox shoes. White sweater wrapped around his waist. (Burner brings this along if things get a bit cold.) Goggles from Attire #1. Weaponry- none. Items- Messenger Bag. The leather of this bag looks very old and used. Drum Sticks. Eye drops. Burner is always carrying this to help his eyes from straining. He's so focusing on what ahead of his that he doesn't want to miss a second and may run for hours without blinking. Vehicles- none. He can out run most gas vehicles. Back Story- Burner lived his life quite regularly when being raised up as a light bird. His speed like attributes laid dormant until Burner reached the age of 12, were his body would most likely be able to handle this ability. On the third consecutive sleepless night, Burner asked his parents about it. The mother hedgehog wondered why, but the father road runner knew because he faced a similar experience in his childhood. "You're body will learn to cope with it," his father said. "But how come you're able to sleep every day?" Burner has confused. "...When the time's right, you'll know when to slow down," he looked to his wife and she smiled back. That night Burner's parents and him stayed up throughout the night quietly laying down options with Burner. Things that he could do during the night, other than video games. A few days later, Rim noticed this sudden change in his brother and confronted his parents on the matter. Sadly Burner's hedgehog brother didn't receive the gene. Burner was given more flexibility as his started into junior high school. With his ability to stay up for long periods he took the time to dig into some hobbies. The first he tackled was reading. Burner didn't particularly enjoy it much, but it was worth the extra knowledge. The bonus was that he easily completing his homework well ahead of schedule, compared to his classmates, though this only worked for him when it came to assignments from the text book. Burner didn't mind having a bit of smarts under his belt. Knowledge wasn't the only goal of Burner. Along with his brother Rim, Burner also had a passion for basketball. So the two brothers tried out for their school's basketball team. Sadly, Burner didn't make it. He was much too short and weak for the game. With brotherly love this didn't stop the two from sharing the experience. Many times Burner came to observe the basketball team's practice sessions, often he would do the physical practice after. The next year Burner made it into the team. Working on filling this gap High school Burner kept his distance from pier pressure with drugs and alcohol. He had to be strong at it with his basketball popularity. "The Drake Brothers" is Burner's and Rim's official nickname on the basketball court because just these two alone are a force to be reckoned with. College started off as stressful shit for Burner. Many hours spent in classes and studies. Plus the fact he had daily practices with the basketball team and had to keep up with his mail delivery job. Often Burner would clear his mind from his stresses by running at night. One night, while running on the highways, Burner bumped into a familiar name that was usually heard on the news: Sonic the Hedgehog. The hedgehog ran to the same lane as the bird and complemented, "Hey! You're pretty fast." "Thank you," Burner replied with his fast speaking, "You're pretty fast yourself. I mean I've got a number of class mates that can only keep up with me for a few minutes. It's kind of odd that I'm able to do this, without much fatigue, but then able genetics kicked in because both of my parents are fast. Speaking of fast-" "Whoa, whoa. I can't believe I'm saying this, but slow down. With the speech, I mean," Sonic gave a chuckle. "Sure," Burner paused as their running footsteps echo in the silence. With a sweat drop of confusion Sonic said, "I'm Sonic-" "the Hedgehog, 'the fastest thing alive'. I know. You're always on the news," Burner smiled back to the blue hedgehog, "I'm Burner," they both stuck their hands out and shook. "Nice to meet you. Have fun with whatever brings you out this late at night. I guess I'll be seeing you around," and with that the hedgehog blasted off in speeds far beyond what Burner could achieve. 'Marvelous, stipends, magnificent with a run that passes through the sound barrier as if it were nothing, like them fighter jets in the sky,' Burner smiled. He kicked the thought of following him out of his mind and took the nearest exit, to continue with exploring zone. Creator's Comments- Burner's profile is by far the cleanest profile I have, IMO. Since his creation much of the things I WANTED for Burner hasn't been removed: Speed. The back story is near completion. Comment/Complaints are welcomed, of course. Side Notes: His name closely reflected to the pyrokinetic ability he USED to have in early development. If he still had the ability the only time he'd be able to use it is when he was traveling past 100 MPH. His name now, "Burner", reflects more on his speed for "burning rubber" off his shoes due to his fast running. Burner's name used to be Jet, which was two or three years before the Sonic Riders game came out with Jet the Hawk. Burner is the fastest running character in my database of fancharacters. He closely reflects my style of playing basketball. Though so does my other fancharacter, TC and Rim.
