Chaos Emerald Posts: 691 Group: S Rank Knight Member #746 Joined: March 19, 2007	Thanks to a certain someone, I requested for the fanfic to be deleted. Apparently, they couldn't make up their mind, and flipped a lid and went all crazy because they were in the fancfic and didn't want to be... anymore, that is. For one, I can slightly understand since I was publishing it. However, I told them I wouldn't add them when I would publish it. Turns out they were still unhappy. Several pms later from several admins/mods, this whole thing explodes into a mess. Now, I was told to edit the parts where I had the character in. However, that person is scattered all over the place in the fanfic. And, I was given permission to use them and their character when I first introduced them. And suddenly they had a random change of heart and didn't want to be in it anymore, however I already finished the fanfic when they told me this. Long story short, deleting it is what they really wanted I imagine, so its now gone. As well, since I deleted this fanfic, I wont continue the rp, and I might not even do part two. So, you have that certain someone to thank for this. I'm truly sorry it had to come to this guys. But, at least you all enjoyed it while it lasted, right?

I'm guessing it's not open for debate, but I feel something needs to be said. Didn't L first put forth the point he was using names, not real people or personalities? And I'm not even saying this because I was in this; I'm saying this because it was a fantastic piece of writing. I enjoyed reading it, and frankly, I can't see why it should be deleted. I suppose there isn't much I can do.

I mean, you put so much work and effort into this and so many people had loved it. And just as you finally finished it, it all went down the drain just like that. How frustrating for everyone. Not in the sense that you're being lead to think. What's horrible is that Lilsonic is essentially taking the cheap way out here. No one told him to delete the work, no one forced him to delete the work. In fact we wanted to avoid that if all possible. All it would've taken was some editing. So what if it'd take a little bit of time and text replacement? Not a big deal. Instead he's artificially making a big deal out of it with its erasure to get everyone in an uproar to take it out on the wrong person. It's grandstanding is what it is. Don't even dare to try to push it off onto someone else. You're the one who made the decision and hit the delete button instead of the edit button. I'm rather disgusted with the way you've handled the situation L. Instead of being reasonable, taking into account that you did not seek anyone's permission, nor show any kind of proof that you attained permission from anyone to use their likeness, and editing Attack on SB, you instead go on the attack. Then the two of you bicker back and forth and cause the staff to be involved. Then you essentially give an administrator the Verbal Finger telling them to stay out of it when they get involved, and even threaten them with a harassment complaint which causes the head honcho to get involved. Head honcho asked for a simple edit to resolve the matter. Then you turn around and do this crap. This is totally inappropriate Lilsonic. It's nothing more than a way to swarm up some outrage and hate, so I'm locking this topic. Have yourself to thank for that for not employing a more reasonable (for yourself and all involved) alternative.

Editing every single instance could take hours, and that's not including the amount of time it would take to merely isolate the parts that need editing. Believe me, after two years of Creative Writing classes, I know just how work is required to do a 'simple edit' (with documents less than, say, 8000 words, which is far less than THIS piece), and it's completely unreasonable to wave a dismissive hand and tell him to rewrite that much work. Completely unreasonable. Deleting the whole thread saves time and effort that need not be expended. It's not cheap. It's a legitimate option; Lil's got more important things to do with his time than sort out someone's belatedly revoked permission. If they didn't like it, why let him continue writing this far, eh? I, personally, am not going to rest until I get to the bottom of this, because this whole incident sounds like a set-up. So, unless anyone ELSE wants to throw around any more biased arguments (yes, biased, that's exactly what they are), let's all get this sorted out once and for all, shall we?

Lil.. just if it makes you feel better. I did manage to save every last chapter you ever finished of The Attack on SB only because I enjoyed reading it so much (especially my parts -shot-) so if you wouldn't be against it, I could send a copy your way (if you don't have a backup yourself) or whisk it off to any members who would appreciate the chance to read it despite what has happened here. This also leaves open the door of a private continuation or, if circumstances improve, returning it to the board. I'd be all in favor of anything keeping it around as it is an important plug for the site.
