"Duelists, if you look onward you'll see the sight of the tournament." spoke a woman over the intercome. The various duelists all looked at the island as they approached it, except for two. These two were dueling. The duelist on the right had a Volcanic Doomfire summoned on the field, with no other cards. The other had no monsters, but two face-down cards. "Doomfire, attack his Life Points directly!" ordered the first duelist. The second smiled and raised a hand. "You just activated my trap card, Magic Cylinder!" he responded as a pair of large cups rose from the trap card. "What?!" hissed his opponent. "Seeing as you're a bit slow," began the trap-user, "I'll explain it. When Magic Cylinder is activated, I can negate the attack of your monster and send it right back at you!" The monster released a stream of fire into one of the cups, and the fire emerged from the other one and hit Doomfire's owner, draining him of his remaining lifepoints. "Checkmate." said the winner, smiling. The loser pounded the deck in frustration as his opponent went to look at the island. The winner's name was Kabuto. The hedgehog wore a dark yellow coat and pants with a black tank top underneath, and wore matching boots and gloves. He was a talented duelist from Duel Academy who'd recieved an invitation to the tournament and hoped to win the grand prize.

"Well, you certainly sound up for the challenge." he said, taking another look at the island. "Me? I just came to show those preps back at the island that being blue isn't everything." "Yeah, not too long now!" he said. A small, semi-transparent creature emerged from his deck, invisible to most. It was a Petite Dragon. The small creature looked curiously at X. It flew around him twice, then came to rest on Kabuto's shoulder.

It flew around it once and flicked its tail. <Another spirit?> spoke a voice. Kabuto looked at the Petit Dragon and then at the demon. "Well what do you know?" he said. He looked at X. "You're just full of surprises, aren't you?" he asked. Smiling as he laughed, Kabuto looked out the window. "Hey, look!" he said, standing up quickly. The petit dragon disappeared. "We're there!" he told X.

As they left the boat, a group of greeters met them and the other duelists at the end of the dock. "Alright people, here's the deal!" said one. "All monsters may be used in this tournament except for creatures such as the Egyptian Gods, Sacred Beasts, or either of the two Envoy monsters. Any other creature is fair game. Normal, effect, fusion, synchro, level, the works." Another one directed them to a table. "Here you will recieve your standerd-issue duel disks and your star chip gloves. Like the original tournament, you need ten star chips to enter the castle for the end of this event. Each of you will be given two Star Chips to begin with." he told them. "Come on." Kabuto said to X. "Let's get in line!"

X closed his eyes as his necklace began to glow. X transformed into demon. "so... this is duelist kingdom eh?" he said in a deeper voice. "so how long do we have to wait here?" X asked (i'm still gona call X, X when he transforms. but don't let kabuto notice to quickly)

"Not much longer." he said, rubbing his hands together. He felt a brief, sharp pain in his chest, but it subsided quickly. After several minutes of waiting, Kabuto and X recieved their duel disks and gloves. Pulling off his own gloves and putting on the star chip glove, Kabuto slid the duel disk onto his left arm. "Sweet!" he said with a smile. Not wasting any time, he pulled his deck out and gently slid it in the deck compartment of the disk. "Always!" he said with a smile. "I'd hope so!" yelled someone. Kabuto turned. "And you are?" he asked. Two duelists stood back to back with large grins. "I'm Ken, and this is Rai! We're the top tag team duelists in the world!" he said with a laugh. Kabuto picked at his ear and said, "Never heard of ya.", annoying the two. (This is my idea for getting our character's decks out for the first time in the RP. Should you want, you can take control of Rai while I handle Ken's deck.)
