I object to your claims
Just like the topic says, what do you like to see in a game? For me, that's way too easy: Good gameplay and controls. Graphics are also very important, as is music, to an extent. As for storylines...eh, I can deal with a crummy story (if there is one), as long as the game itself is good.

If it has the word 'Pokemon' in the title.

Mostly the storyline and the gameplay for me, as I've stated many times in the past I couldn't care less about graphics.

I like a good story with pretty decent graphics. Multiplayer is pretty good to, unless its tacked on in which most cases it seems incomplete.

Story and Gameplay. If it has a bad story (or just no story), it's basically unplayable.

Gameplay and a good plot. I can't stand stock-standard games and plotless storylines bore me quickly.

Check out my tumblr, Aggravated Anime-Adoring Australian, where I post all sorts of dumb screencaps and MS Paint edits and generally bitch and moan about stupid otaku shit.

It's the story I look for first. If it has a crappy story, most games will bore me, but not all of them. Gameplay is a close second, but that story thing is more for modern games. That's why when I get a modern game I expect a story along with it. These aren't the old times when the story was suppose to be crap. That's why I would rather Sonic stay how he is rather than go back 2D, because the stories will be crap.
I'm a gamer and always will be a gamer. If you don't believe me. I have 430 Video Games and 19 Consoles.

I doubt you could beat that unless you are a gamer as well! =P

So, let's see if you can outdo "The Jet Gamer"

Story, music and gameplay are important to me. Graphics don't really matter methinks, nor do the controls.

Yes. I look for games that have everything top-notch. I recently got one of those games too. :)

Christmas is back again

I'm almost tempted to say all five options.
Yet these are in order.
1. Story: If the story won't add any suspense at all to the players. I quickly become bored as what purpose is there without one. Though I admit there are a few expectations. Though have no intention to mention them.
2. Gameplay: What is a game without it?
3. Music. Don't know why I consider this, maybe because without the music, I don't know. It doesn't add to the whole experience if it's not there.

---

The other two alternatives I don't really take valid thought enough to think the game sucks or not.

What do I look for in a game..? Hmm, first of all, it needs to be an absolute joy to play, so that's the gameplay box ticked. Eye-candy is nice too; I don't want to have kick-ass gameplay, but be moving a horrid, pixelly, mush of polygons around. And of course, particularly if it's a platform game, a story that will interest me and I can get involved in is essential. I don't want the storyline to be there as merely an excuse to jump around and pwn enemies - a problem with many recent Sonic games, I think.

I look for everything in a game, except for graphics. I could care less about graphics.

I highly doubt you'd play a game that looked like this, even if it had the gameplay of Gran Turismo 5;
