In Sonic Rush there is a boost you can get by holding y only you get the boost by getting points. Is that like the same thing as ring energy besides the way you get it? |

If you're referring to the ring energy in Sonic Unleashed, then it and the boost in Sonic Rush and Rush Adventure are not the same in how their respective bars are filled up. Ring energy is obviously increased by obtaining rings, and Rush's is increased by doing tricks, completing trick combos, passing through checkpoints, and hitting a certain monitor. They are, however, similar in the fact that they both provide and increase in speed and a bout of invulnerability to non-pit obstacles by pushing a button.
