In the massive, orbital space station known as Space Colony ARK, in the orbit of the planet Earth, a lone soldier sat at his post, viewing a dozen or so monitors pointed out into space. Just a few days ago, they had decided to send out a probe containing information about their species, in an attempt to discover more alien life out in the endless void that is space. This guard was to sit here, and watch the monitors for approaching spacecraft, or any signals that may came from aliens. It was tedious, and in the guards opinion, very stupid. He doubted anything would come, and it seemed outright silly to dedicate soldiers to this kind of work. He shook his head, taking a bite of a large hoagie. Only a few more hours until his shift was over, and knowing this job, those hours would drag on forever. "Ah well," He muttered, "At least its better than cleaning the bathrooms." --- THREE DAYS PRIOR TWO DAYS AFTER PROBE LAUNCH LOCATION: EPSILON ERIDANI SYSTEM A lone, barren planet orbited a bright sun, spinning silently on it's axis, devoid of life. Beside it, rotated a small moon, its eternal companion, destined to be there forevermore by the side of this young world. From behind the gray exterior of the moon, came a large black shape, totally out of place in this system. As it moved out of the shadow of the moon and into the sun, it gleamed a brilliant silver color. It was a spacecraft. But not an UNFAMILIAR spacecraft. As it happened, this very same spacecraft, with the very same occupants, had been in this system, a very long time ago, before the planet and its little moon had even formed. It basked in the glow of the sun like a friend greeting someone it had not seen in years. Silently, a little green beam fired off the prow of the ship, and grasped a small circular construct in its pull. It was a probe. The beam began to retract towards the ship, dragging the probe with it. --- Ship Interior "Captain." Said a metallic voice, to a large metallic man sitting in his chair in the command center. The man wheeled around, giving the newcomer a flat stare. "What." He asked in monotone. "We have...found something." Stated the newcomer. "Something...worrying." Without a word, the man rose. "Show me." He said. Nodding slowly, the newcomer led him out of the room and down the hall, into a large round room, with many beings like himself gathered around a table, muttering uneasily. One looked up, and motioned to the others. They all turned to look at the man as he entered their midst. They backed away from the table, nodding slightly as they did. The man walked up to the table. On it was a small circular device, sucked in from the cold blackness of space. He picked it up, and tapped it with his metal finger. It made a dull 'donk' sound, indicating it was not hollow. He examined it further, until he found a small button on the surface. He looked around at his gathered bretheren, and pressed the button. It began to repeat, in an alien tongue, the story of a species. A young species, that had suffered much- and caused much suffering. A species new to space travel, eager to meet others...But this was not good. "This is from aliens, is it not?" Asked the man to no one in particular. "Yes." Answered one. "And where did it originate?" "A star system nearby, captain." Another replied. "We believe it is called 'Sol'." The man stopped moving, and slowly turned to look at the gathered crowd. "Sol." He repeated. "Are you certain?" "Yes." "And this is not from...them?" The man asked, becoming increasingly concerned. "No sir. We have reason to believe the world replenished itself." "This is troubling indeed." He murmured. "This species...It is young. But it has shown a fondness for violence. Have we observed them before?" "We contacted the Academy, sire." One of them stated. "We have indeed observed them. They are indeed very violent creatures...but they foolishly believe that their violence is with the best of intentions." "Then they are unsafe?" The captain asked. There was a murmur. "We are...uncertain." A member of the crowd responded. "It is true they are violent...but they have shown...redeeming qualities." "But is their violence more visible to the eye?" Prodded the captain. "Are they more willing to resort to violence than common sense?" "Our studies do not provide much information, but we believe so." "Then it is time, my brothers." The captain announced. "The Extermination must begin again. Ready yourselves. Set a course for Sol, and be ready...for combat." He walked off down a hallway, leaving his men to scramble in different directions to gather their arms and pilot the ship towards destiny. He himself had to mentally prepare himself- he needed not prep for combat. His skills were unmatched, his gun always at his side. He arrived in his chambers, sat on the floor, and began meditation. They were about to end lives, and not for the first time. |

LOCATION: SPACE COLONY 'ARK II' ORBITING MOBIUS MOBIA MAJOR STAR SYSTEM For the most part, the Mobius based ARK II was complete as far as the hull and basic life support systems. But none of its construction crew had any interest of actually living on-site within the blank station. Craftsmen of different trades, species and races crawled all over the interior and exterior of the station, working alongside robots. Within what would become Systems Engineering, a fox in a white, carbon black and orange suit of armor floated in low gravity, running CAT-12 fiber optic cable and other physical media in various areas, making and testing connections. Hopefully within a few weeks he would be able to bring the actual computers in and set up the ARK II's network. The fox was Miles "Tails" Prower, a system administrator and scientist from the ARK I. Tails had designed the entire network for the new colony as well as other implements and with his cybernetic augmentations from a timeline now inaccessible, he would be able to bring those plans to precise fruitation, in peace. |

BELOW THE SURFACE OF MOBIUS, IN ANOTHER DIMENSION... A crowd was gathered in the center of the city of Ninth Circle, capital of the Under Realm, the Demon world. "My brothers!" Cried a demon from atop the Great Ninth Spire, the home of the Under Realm's king. "I present to you! Our glorious, our evil, our demonic leader. His hideousness, the BLACK DEMON!" The crowd roared with approval, as their horrific, black-scaled leader stepped into view. "MY CHILDREN!" He roared, voice echoing like a hundred people in pain. "OUR TIME HAS COME! One of our demons has located the UNHOLY KEY!" The crowd cheered even louder. "WE SHALL EMERGE FROM THIS PRISON, AND RECLAIM THE SURFACE WORLD!" The demon roared. "And now, I present...PROJECT EPSILON!" He pointed out into the distance, where a huge aircraft rose up. It was immense, almost the size of the city itself. It was red in coloration, and very sinister. "OUR SPACECRAFT." The black demon cackled. "We have begun mass production of these. We will reclaim our colony in the Sol system, and then we will bring the fight to the Ancient Enemy!" They roared even louder, if that was possible. "Now, my brothers...READY YOURSELVES!" The Black Demon yelled. "THE INVASION...BEGINS...NOW." --- MYSTIC RUINS Aza Tarnaeus, the cybernetic demon Vanguard, stood before a bloodied altar, a deceased furry strapped to it. His limbs had been cut off, his blood spilled into marked crevices on the altar. "Finally." He growled. "It took forever for that damn thing to die." He raised his hands and began chanting in Latin. As he did, the runes on the altar glowed red, and projected holographic images. The ground all around the mystic ruins shook, and a loud sound like millions of voices screaming in terror and pain began. A beam shot forth from the altar, penetrating the ceiling of the cavern, and making it visible from the surface. The ground split, and out of it, shapes began to emerge, cackling with joy and bloodlust as they were freed from their prison. "THE INVASION...BEGINS...NOW." |

Gerald was stretched out on the couch at Tails' Mystic Ruins home, taking a before-dinner nap with little Shadow bouncing up and down on his stomach. His granddaughter was in the kitchen, stirring a large pot of noodles and cheddar cheese. She clenched her teeth and struggled as she rotated the concoction with a large plastic spoon. It was a great way to keep herself in shape, as much as the the three 'boys' ate. At any time she could have enabled the nanorobots embedded into her body to give her the strength needed to propel the spoon like an electric mixer, she preferred to build up the old fashioned way. Soon she was worn out and decided to stop. Pulling the spoon out, she set it aside, turned up the heat and stuck a lid on the pot. Maria walked into the living room and stared out the large window that showed a panoramic view of the Mystic Ruins. She noticed the light and stared at it. |

From out of the light, came a massive red warship. It hovered over the Mystic Ruins, menacing in appearence, as the demon hordes began to pore forth from the crack in the ground from whence the light came. Acting quickly, the horde began to charge, ravaging the landscape as they went, burning things, slaughtering living creatures, just causing needless mayhem as they marched onward. Smaller ships began emerging from the light as well. "INSIGNIFICANT PEOPLE OF THE PLANET MOBIUS." A voice boomed forth from the warship, being picked up by radio stations, televisions, and basically every electronic device on the planet, "WE ARE THE FABLED UNHOLY WARRIORS OF YOUR LORE, THE DEMONS THAT HAUNT YOUR DREAMS, THAT STEAL YOUR SOULS, THAT CORRUPT EVEN THE KINDEST OF BEINGS." The demon forces marched onward, splitting into several groups and marching off for different destinations to wage war. "THIS IS OUR WORLD," The voice roared, "AND YOU WILL ALL BE DESTROYED, IN THE NAME OF OUR UNHOLY EMPIRE!" --- The security guard aboard the Ark sat up abruptly as he spied something on a monitor. A massive object had just arrived in system. It was too large to be a meteor- or if it WAS a meteor, it was abnormally huge. Even odder were the fact that it was emitting radio transmissions. Quickly the guard began working the machinery, trying to get a fix on the frequency, so he could hear what exactly was being transmitted. Whatever was going on, it was suspicious. Suddenly, he caught the frequency. A voice began playing like a recording, its voice heavenly and laced with kindness. But it was unintelligible. He transmitted a response- this was clearly first contact. A historic moment indeed. And he wanted in on it. "What?" He said, "I didn't understand that." The voice stopped. A moment passed, and then it came back, speaking clear english, "What are your kind called." "W-we are the human race." The guard replied, nervously. Another pause. "Very well, human," Came the aliens response. "We will arrive shortly. Be prepared." |

The ARK-II Tails suddenly froze as his hand clenched a CAT-12 roll that he was about to move to the next area. Blood red pixels formed in the direct center of his HUD and then started to expand exponentially, rendering him virtually blind unless he switched over to direct input. But he couldn't do it. He couldn't do anything with his systems, though he had some bodily control. He whipped his head around to the left and right, clenching his teeth. Suddenly a spasm whipped through his body, causing the fox to salivate heavily. A loud electronic shriek erupted within his ears and as it spoke, the same words appeared on his HUD in fiery letters. INSIGNIFICANT PEOPLE OF THE PLANET MOBIUS. WE ARE THE FABLED UNHOLY WARRIORS OF YOUR LORE, THE DEMONS THAT HAUNT YOUR DREAMS, THAT STEAL YOUR SOULS, THAT CORRUPT EVEN THE KINDEST OF BEINGS. THIS IS OUR WORLD, AND YOU WILL ALL BE DESTROYED, IN THE NAME OF OUR UNHOLY EMPIRE! The fox then grabbed ahold of his helmet, as if to try to tear his own head off and uttered a loud and terrible scream that could be heard for several levels. |

As suddenly as the transmission began, it ended. The demons ceased communication as their warship lifted off their surface of Mobius, to take up position in orbit around the planet instead. The demon hordes converged on several locations, Mystic Ruins being where they began their assault, as a larger section of the horde split off and headed for Station Square. The demons, fitted with powerful tech, sliced their way through any who stood in their way, destroying buildings, etc. Aza stood as de facto commander of the horde assaulting the Mystic Ruins, given such power over the soldiers in honor of his achievement. He sighted a building off in the distance. If he was correct, it was home to the top scientist on this world and another, Gerald Robotnik. He could pose a threat. He narrowed his eyes. "ASSAULT HORDE EPSILON!" He roared at the squadron he commanded, "DESTROY THAT BUILDING, AND ALL WITHIN!" Instantly the horde, containing a pair Daemon Titans and a large force of Inferno Knight's, rushed towards the building, roaring with a building bloodlust. |

Tails tilted his head to the left and right as the cacophany continued. Suddenly, he could see the Mystic Ruins burning, with his home not too far off. DESTROY THAT BUILDING AND ALL WITHIN IT Then the video disappeared and the fox found himself in control of his systems again. He dropped the cable reel and started a dead run for the finished security area, while broadcasting a system-wide message. ALL MARINES AND SECURITY FORCES ARM-UP. PREPARE FOR DROP |

Commander Zelos Tryntax looked up from polishing his chainsword as the announcement to arm-up was delivered. "Alright Marines," He shouted, "Grabs your weapons, head to the pods. This isn't a drill, we're deploying. Last one in a pod gets the pod that broke down last week and isn't expected to survive a drop." Instantly there was a loud rush of activity as every marine readied themselves. Tryntax didn't need to. He sheathed his chainsword and drew his boltgun, heading for his pod. Sounded like something bad was up- and his men were just the men to put a stop to it. |

Soon, all the pods were loaded and deployed. They shot down from the ark towards the surface of Mobius, where they landed on the border of the ravaged Mystic Ruins. The Marines shot out of their pods and ran off towards the battle, as Tryntax lingered at his pod. He saw the enemy up ahead- inhuman, huge, mostly mechanical- and very fearsome. "If I had actually gone to sleep in the past 20 years," Muttered Tryntax, "I would swear this is a dream. A bad one." (Have at it, go charge into the fray or whatever. P: Like I said in the LAST RP, I don't need to do EVERYTHING, dude.) |
