It was still several days away from the crash site and they were running low on food. Gold had thought this would be an easy mission but it seemed to have gone from bad to worse the moment they had entered the gravitational field of Seris 9. The original plan was to search for their ship, which they had so quickly abandoned due to malfuctioning equipment (in accordance with the C.R.A.S.H. Protocol), but when they jumped they had no idea they would land in quicksand. They had made it passed the quicksand with their survival gear. Gold and Ruby had decided that it was a good idea to find the ship and get off the planet many had called the "Deadzone". There was no life and there was no water, it was literally a planet of sand. Or so we thought. We had found some ruins that led deep into the core of the planet and it held a small crystal. we took it but it set off some traps that we narrowly escaped a la Indiana Jones Style. Well we knew we needed to find a shelter for the night so we set off towards a structure in the distance. We made it to the structure which was another ruins. It had one lowered room and it was well protected from the sandstorm. This is where we would wait out the storm and hope that the ship was in one piece.

These three also weren't from Gold and Ruby's planet, and several things about them showed this. Though they still closely resembled Gold and Ruby in basic shape and structure, they were slightly shorter and more muscular. The three searching the ruins were Kabuto the Hedgehog, Regal the Hedgehog, and Stone the Hedgehog. Regal and Stone were trained knights of the Gothican Knight Academy on their home planet, while Kabuto was a veteran of two wars and was apparently of some form of nobility. "I told you it was a dumb idea to come to this planet, Regal. I hate deserts, and this entire planet is one giant sandbox." said Kabuto to the purple hedgehog as he shined a small orb of light into a pile of rubble. Regal laughed and said, "Oh come on Kabuto, this is cool! Right Stone?" The last of the hedgehogs, Stone, did not respond as he lifted and moved several rocks to block gaps in the cave walls to prevent the cold from getting in during the freezing desert nights.

He let Ruby sleep and went to investigate and found a dark tunnel that seemed to go on forever. "Hello," Gold yelled and his call seemed to echo through the tunnel. He flicked his hand and the orb on his glove lit up the tunnel. Ruby was now wide awake sensing that Gold was searching for something. She slowly packed up the gear, still weary from exhaustion, and hurried over to Gold just as he was turning on his orb. "What's Up?" she asked. "There is a tunnel," Gold said, "and I'm not to sure, but i thought i heard something coming from down there. Do you think we should check it out." "I guess," Ruby yawned. And so they set off deeper into the cave. They walked for what seemed like hours. When they were almost about to quit they heard someone speak but it sounded far off. Gold pulled down his pair of goggles, that also worked as his multi-purpose tool (such as a computer, scanner, or in this case a pair of binoculars), and saw in the distance a faint light. "HELLO" He yelled and then he started running with Ruby in tow. Being Hedgehogs made the running a lot easier (although they were Darkerian hedgehog, hedghogs who grew to be about 6 foot tall.). Gold could see somone moving rocks, but then a part of the cave started to collapse and he had to run faster. He dove through the hole and hit the far wall thanks to his momentum and blacked out.

Seeing Gold hit the wall, he nodded to the other two. "Stone, lift the rocks." he ordered the two with him. "Regal, get the kid out of there." They nodded in response. Stone lifted the rocks and tossed them away, demonstrating incredible strength as they flew over his shoulder like pebbles. Regal pulled Gold away and slapped him gently on the face. Kabuto gently shoved the knight aside and took out a canteen. He unscrewed the top and poured some of the water onto Gold. "Wake up, kid." he said. While Regal and Kabuto tended to Gold, Stone continued to move the rocks that had collapsed. Shoving the last of the rocks away, he made a hole large enough to see Ruby through. The hedgehog's blank stare focused on her, and he silently offered her his hand to help her through. (Here's the images of the characters.) "What..." A sudden booming sound came from below their feet. "I smell food" said a low booming voice from the ground. Gold stood and said "I don't know what's going on but i think we need to get out of here." Ruby walked to the wall across from the hole Stone had opened and grabbed some pieces of broken metal that were lying there and started building something. "Ruby this is no time to be going into one of your building spells. We need to get out of here before whatever is below suddenly finds a way up here." Gold said calmly. "I am going to try to build a teleporter. Maybe we can use it to access the Fallen Wind's teleporter and get off this dump. Besides this is the first metal I've seen here and it's as good a chance as any. BOOM "Sounds like Mr. Boom has found a way up to this floor. How long do you need to build that teleporter?" Gold asked. Ruby answered, "I can have it ready in a couple of minutes. All I need you guys to do is to try and stall that thing." Gold look down the corridor and saw a pair of ghostly green eyes with red pupils and a semi transparent white body slowly making its way down the hall. "Are you guys up for a challenge?" They looked at him, and Regal smiled. Kabuto stepped in front of Gold, while Stone cracked his knuckles and neck. "Why not?" said Kabuto. Regal came forward and kicked his legs to warm up. Kabuto's body grew scales that were hard as armour and sharp claws replaced his fingernails. Stone pounded his fists together, and his body took on a dark grey color. As he took a step forward, a sharp thud resounded off the cave walls as stone hit stone. Smiling, Kabuto yelled, "Bring it on!" into the tunnel at the approaching figure. He took out a long, dual-ended lance and held it in his left hand as he crouched low to the ground. Stone took a sumo-style stance and waited for the enemy while Regal hopped in place, eager for the battle to begin. Edited by The Storyteller, Oct 22 2009, 10:54 AM.

Yep i'm a pack rat.) Gold pulled out a small egg with a claw print etched into it. The egg floated in front of him and his body became as cold as ice and his clothes turned into a type of fur (like a fur coat) and his where he stood ice was forming. He created a sword of ice (codename: Sealed Deception-ICE) and spun it in a vertical circle. He ran towards the enemy and slashed it with his sword. "HAHAHAHA. Puny meatbag, you have nothing that can touch me," the creature boomed, "HAHAHA....WAH?!" His body suddenly turned fleshy. "I know i can't harm you with a normal sword, so i used this sword ,also known as Sealed Deception, which can turn any ethereal object solid or in this case into flesh. Now I leave you to these guys." Gold said. Ruby searched through her bags for a power core. She found it and placed it into a slot on the base of her makeshift teleporter. She now only need the light mod but she didn't have one to spare. All hers were left on the ship and this complication was very frustrating. She looked around and notice a light coming from the center of the room. She hadn't given it much thought until now but it looked similar to her light mods and she decided to scan and make a copy of it using her C.L.O.N.E Band. It matched the signature of a light mod and she put it in the crevice at the top of the teleporter. She looked it over and walked to the corridor but stumbled and yelled out then all went black. Regal ran at the creature. "Ha!" he yelled, kicking the monster twice before landing, then leaping and unleashing multiple kicks. Stone grabbed Kabuto and threw him at the monster, Kabuto twisting his body to drill through it. Upon shooting through its torso, Kabuto rebounded off of a wall and flew back at it, slicing it in half with his lance in a single, fatal strike. Stone then walked over to Ruby. He snapped his fingers in front of her and shook her by the shoulder. Turning, he motioned to Gold to come and help Ruby. Kabuto's form returned to normal. "So," Kabuto began. Then he said "I'm Gold and this is Ruby. We are hedghogs from the planet Darkeria. We were on an expition with a fleet of explorers but we were attacked by space pirates and our ship was hit and we made an emergency jump when we were headed towards this planet." Ruby was starting to stir. "Give her some room" Gold said. "What happened?" Ruby asked. " I think you tripped over a rock" Gold said. "Oh I have the teleporter ready," she stated. Ruby punched in a few commands into the teleporters comm pad and an image of the interior of their ship onscreen. "Let's go," she said and she stepped into the center of the teleporter (which was big enough to fit everyone). Gold stepped on and him and Ruby waited for the other's. They all stepped in the teleporter and waited to be transported. "Wait." said Kabuto, turning around back to the cave. "You guys go on ahead, I've got something I need to get." without waiting for a response, the yellow and blue hedgehog ran deeper into the cave. After several seconds of jogging, he began to run on all fours at a faster pace.

Gold was getting impatient and started to inspect the room more thoroughly and found a switch that was hidden behind some rocks. He pushed it and then the whole ruins started to shake and the floor in that room and in all the corridors in the upper level collapsed. They fell to the floor below and landed hard. "What did you do that for?" Ruby yelled. "I couldn't help myself. Something told me to push and I listened," Gold retorted. They looked around and saw they were in an even larger room. Hearing the others yell, Kabuto turned back towards the cave as he put something in a small bag. "Ugh." he grumbled, stuffing it in his pocket. He got down on all fours and ran back to the large hole in the floor. Down below, Regal laughed and said, "Yeehaw, that was sweet! Do it again!" Stone grunted and stood, brushing the dirt off of his clothes. Smiling at the state of the others, Kabuto, still on all fours, leapt down into the hall like a cat, landing on rock after rock as he made his descent. "I can't leave you guys alone for five minutes, can I?" he asked as he landed in front of Gold and Ruby. As he landed, he stood up straight. "Mind your wandering thoughts, Gold. Curiousity killed the cat, you know!"

Gold said apologetically as he got up and dusted off his clothes. Suddenly the floor began to lower itself like an elevator. "Well this is odd I thought this place was just some old ruins. I would have never guessed it had working mechanical systems" Ruby said. And then she remembered about the teleporter. "Oh no," she said staring at the ruined teleporter, "Now how are we supposed to get out. Gold look what you've caused. Yet again you always seem to get us out of one situation and into another. And that was my last power core. This would have never happened if you had let me drive...." Ruby said as she was beginning to go off on one of her rants (Yeah I am not gonna go into detail because this post would take forever). As this was going on a dark figure was watching them in a room with monitors and cryotubes. "Hmmm... It seems that I have visitors maybe i should send them a welcome party," he said and then flipped the keyboard that was in front of him over to reveal several rows of tiles with images of creatures of all different shapes and sizes. "Let's see who shall I send. Hmmmmmm.... Oh I know how about you," he said and then pressed a button with a picture of a fish. back at the team Ruby had finally calmed down and they were at the bottom of the shaft. There was an arched doorway and beyond there flickered lights in the distance. Gold took the lead and said, "Well I guess we have to find a way out somehow. Let's see what's ahead." He stopped as he heard a low rumble and then saw a gigantic fish jump out of the floor in the room ahead. The fish's length was about the same as the height of a 10 story building. It had rocks all along its body and it's teeth were sharp and long. "Well look's like the welcome wagon has arrived and its uuuggly. So who wants to go fishing," He said as he changed into his ice form (previously mentioned).

"Kid, I'd love a nice fish fry." he said. He took out his lance as Regal came to stand next to him. Regal put a white helmet on and moved his hand over his muzzle, causing a breathing mask that protected the lower half of his face to emerge from the sides of the helmet. Smiling still, Kabuto said, "Actually, I have a better idea." and put away the lance. His arms began to grow and thicken, rippling with muscles. His legs and chest did likewise, and his eyes became more reptilian. His quills were sucked into his body, and a sickening crunch resounded as his bones shifted and changed. Within another minute, Kabuto was a Crocobear, a creature from his planet equal in size to the fish. He roared, and several rocks fell from the ceiling. While they prepared for battle, Stone looked at Ruby. "This cavern is treacherous, we can't get out this way." he told her, speaking for the first time. His deep, rumbling voice made what he said sound completely true. "We got here using our ship, the Great Root. While they fight, could you help me dig a tunnel through this wall?" he pointed to a wall. He put on a helmet identical to Regal's and likewise put on the breathing mask.
