I just killed a spider in my living room, with an end table, at full arms length so you should now know like Gale does (She totally didn't get rid of two spiders for me and get injured in the process with a massive green cup and one of my books) that I hate spiders.

So it's great for me and the other 10% of males living in Britain, because we do not have any native species bigger then a hand, or at least in my house (Which is the only place I go) which is perfect. And every winter kills most of them off so: YAY WINTER.

As I lie down in my bed so paranoid I think I could create a spider with my imagination, I thought I should make this topic so people could share their experiances with the worlds most annoying creature.

(Funnily enough, I've actually seen the 'Goliath Birdeater' Spider in 'person', it was dead mind you; in a mueseum. It had a picture of an African child eating one of it's ... um, limbs next to it)

Now even though I have aracnaphobia (spelling?) I'm not scared of Scorpians, Crab-Spiders and Money Spiders. In fact last time I saw a money spider I picked it up and put it outside myself. So in large show any picture of a spider except the pubic hair one, yeah, I hate Gale for that. D: <

So yeah, post your experiances with the little devils.

I'm more of the "don't kill it, just throw it outside" type. I've just always lived by "if thou did not create it, thou hath not reason to destroy it" or in English, " All life is valuable.". now, I'm not so concerned that I'll cry over it or yell at you if you squish it, but i tend to leave them alone and give the usual "don't stomp it, just put it in a cup and trow it outside."

Now, there is one thing i can be thankful to spiders for. High entertainment. I swear, pretty much every girl at my school will pretty much jump across the room at the sight of one. XD it's hilarious. And then a rat showed up once, now I would've payed to see THAT reaction. :XP:

I mourned the spiders death in my own silent way. I would rather have thrown it out but I lack the discipline to think rationally around them, besides it was around the plug socket for my laptop and I needed to get the hell out of there. So I smushed it untill it when crunch.

I feel bad. D:

I feel kinda bad now because every time I see a spider near me i crushed it without considering i could trap it and set it free outside =[ , I usually would not have any problems with them if i don't see them but if i do see them i stomp them.

I hate when they dangle in front of my face as they make their way to the floor. I've had 3 spiders (all separate times) dangle in front of me while watching/playing something creepy with spiders in it. Each promptly got sprayed by hair spray and flushed.

My whole fear of them stems from Black Widows and Brown Recluses. I kill spiders on sight, especially creepy looking ones that have a body build like a black widow.

We had a bad black widow infestation during summer. Oddly enough, a news article was written stating black widows get in homes on accident. And that must've just been strange coincidences, because they were in every nook and cranny in the house ( /overexaggeration).

My boyfriend says his house occasionally gets a giant hairy spider beast that wanders the floors. And he says its because of the neighbors. O_O

Christmas is back again

I would freak out if I'd ever see one at the size of my own hand. Small ones I don't mind, unless they tend to start crawling on your arm without knowing until looking what's ticking.
But serious somewhat their useful. They take away other little buggers with their web's. But no one wants to have it in their houses. So I kill em. I'm not so worried about their lives, as in there are hundreds of thousands with them all over the world.
Yet I hate to kill those who stand out from the crowds. In fact, sometimes I can see their marks shown on their backs.

Anyway, I haven't really had much of a freak situation involving these eight legged creatures. However I prefer not to have em crawl all over the house/walls/clothes etc. XD

I'll jump if I see a "fat" spider nearby and the presence of a spider is never really welcome, but I'm not really an arachnophobe, as you can probably work out from Shadre's post, as I rescued him from some whilst I was staying at his house. His reaction to spiders is hilarious. <3

I tend to deal with spiders and insects in a peaceful manner whenever possible, capturing and then releasing them.

I don't like spiders, nor insects for that matter. Well, not real ones. Ones on a screen or animated don't bother me at all. I quickly kill any that wander near me. XD

The ones like in those pictures you shown are the ones I normally see inside the house that are immediately squashed. If its a tiny tiny one, maybe not as concerned. The bigger ones I am yes. I'm not afraid of them, but I don't want them trying to get on me naturally.

I didn't know you were that afraid of spiders. I would have thought something totally different with the interests and personality you come across with pal.

I'm an arachnophobe, and have been for longer than I remember. Actually, this January, I'm going to therapy for it (really :P ). Crane flies and daddy longlegs, too...anything with long and spindly legs, I cannot stand. My friends could tell you hilarious stories.

So yes, I kill spiders. I kill them without prejudice. If it is in my house, it is dead, and I will find a way to kill it without getting near it, be it turning on the shower and drowning it, removing my shirt and throwing it on top of it, then throwing another article of clothing just in case, then stomping on the pile, or simply leaving the room and asking someone else to do it. I've even taken my sword to one, and a weed-whacker to another. Small spiders (smaller than, say, a quarter) I can deal with, but anything larger is a problem. It's mostly crane flies, honestly.

However, I'm a pacifist, and that includes animals. I don't believe in killing anything without reason, and I've yet to come up with a reason for killing a bug aside from "He's there." So I apologize to the bug after taking its life, out loud, otherwise I feel awful. Not that I don't still feel bad, but it helps.

I can't wait until my therapy's up.
