You start from yours'.) Standing on top of a large hill, a purple hedgehog wearing black clothing stared over the Eggman Empire's most recent creation: Eggtropolis. Doctor Eggman and two other hedgehogs looked at it as well. One hedgehog was dark red and wore red, while the other was shackled. This hedgehog was grey and had long, stringy red dreadlocks. "Marvelous, isn't it boys?" Eggman asked the purple and red hedgehogs. "It certainly is, isn't it Dusk?" asked the purple hedgehog. The red hedgehog, Dusk, snorted, spit on the ground, wiped his nose on his sleeve, and said, "Yeah sure, a real wonder." The grey hedgehog looked at the large city. <Almost time to release the homing beacon.> he thought to himself. <Just a little while longer.>

She came to a door, and was stopped by a guard. she held up the security clearance badge that had been given to her. On any normal occasion, She would have just knocked the guard out, but for once, she was welcomed in the facility. Not to say she felt the same way. Why did I even come here? What do I owe these people? The door slid open and she was in a large room with a few seats and a screen. The briefing room. already seated were an assortment of GUN agents, but she instantly recognized the two foxes and the blue hawk sitting down, with the same expression of boredom that she had. She took a seat next to them. "your late." The hawk said to her. "like I care Ace." She replied.

"The G.U.N base is heavily guarded. After Sonic's last little parade of destruction, I do not have the robots to send with you. You two will need to take the base by force, and on your own." he told Dusk and Mithos, the purple hedgehog. Dusk laughed. "Is this really why you woke me up? Peice of cake!" he boasted, smiling savagely. "Don't be too sure, Dusk." said Mithos. "I have recieved intel. that G.U.N has a few secret weapons at their disposal. I don't know what they are, but we must use caution." Dusk grunted. "Tch, you really should keep your mouth shut, little brother." he said. Mithos smiled and said, "Well if I don't talk, people have to listen to the mumbles of a simpleton." "Why you-" Dusk began before Eggman cut him off. "Stop! Mithos is right, you must exercise caution. This mission is of the most importance. Failure is not an option!" The grey hedgehog laughed as Eggman spoke. "Hehe, 'failure is not an option'?" he asked the doctor. "Making failure impossible is a logical impossibility in itself you know, Dr. Robotnik." Eggman frowned and pressed a button. An electrical current flowed through the hedgehog's chains, and he groaned in pain. "You'd do well to keep quiet, Dr. Jacob. You are already not in a favorable position as it is." said Eggman. Snapping a finger, Eggman summoned two robots. "Lock him up in his cell." he ordered. The machines complied and dragged him away. Mithos and Dusk looked at Eggman. "Well, what are you waiting for?! Get going!" he ordered the two. They nodded. Dusk ran down the hall, while Mithos walked. <Just a few more hours.> thought Jacob as he hit the cell floor and the robots locked the cell.

Commander Tower, leader of GUN. He looked at the audience and told everyone but the four to leave. Once the room was cleared he stood infront of the screen. "Good to see you all again, Project Twilight, Project Blur, Project-" "we go by different names now comander." Ace said, cutting him off. "now just tell us what to do so we can leave." The comander took a little annoyance at his tone but continued. The screen flickered to life to show a photograph of Doctor eggman. "I assume you all know who this is right? Doctor Ivo Robotnik, evil scientist." The comander said. "Yeah, whatever." the twin foxes said in unison. "we have reason to belive he may be targeting this base righ now." the comNder continued. "we currently don't have the forces to fully protect the base at the present time, so we'd like you to ward off any attacks made on us, this base is containing a very important object that could be fatal if robotnik gets his hands on it." midnight looked a bit skeptical. "that's it? You just want us to be body guards? For this important item? What is it any way?" she asked. The comander shook his head. " that's classified" he said but Ace figured it out. "Chaos emerald. Duh." again the comander shook his head. "although there is a chaos emerald here, what we're holding is much more powerful." " okay, let's go then." Ace said already heading for the door. The comander told him to stop, but ace didn't listen, and simply floated through the door when it didn't open. The rest also got up and Pos pryied open the door magnetically so the three could leave, despite the protests of Comander Tower.

"Alright you two, get ready. And if you fail, don't bother to return!" said Eggman over a communication link. They nodded. "Ready?" asked Mithos. Dusk smiled savagely and nodded. "Let's go." said Mithos. Dusk swung back and forth on his heels, then launched off the side of the airship. Surrounding himself with a ball of fire, Dusk hurtled towards the ground like a meteor and crashed about a half-mile from the base, releasing a wave of intense heat. Mithos looked through a pair of binoculars and found a vent on the side of the building. "Perfect." he said to himself quietly. As he put down the binoculars, his body began to change. After a minute, he was a small, regular fly. Using memory alone, he flew off of the airship and down towards the base. As he reached the base, he flew in between the bars of the vent and into the ventilation shaft.

"Guess that's us." Neg said, and the four ran to the control room. When they arrived, the commander was already waiting for them. "I think you may want to see this!" an operator yelled over to the commander, who walked over to peer over his shoulder. "sensors indicated a large seismic shock, thermal outlier, and energy spike all in the same area about five minutes ago, half a mile due north." the operator continued. "can we get video?" the comander asked. The screen flickered to see what looked like a meteor impact, but the team paused and zoomed in to see the outline of what looked like a hedgehog. "Thats your cue, go!" the comander ordered the four experiments. They all made adesperate sprint for the exit. "what do you think it is midnight?" Pos asked her. "Cant tell, but I defenetly won't be easy." she said. "Not as easy as it used to be." Ace added in, letting losse his razor wings, ready to fight.

Seeing the four coming towards him, he walked forward to meet them. His eyes flashed, the dark blue irisis and red pupils of his eyes becoming brighter momentarily. "About time!" he said to himself, cracking his neck and rotating his shoulders. Still in the ventilation shaft but now a rat, Mithos skittered around the metal chutes quietly and looked down into the halls at the G.U.N soldiers. <Now then, where is the security hall?> he asked himself. He slipped through the cracks of the vents and landed softly in a supply closet. After briefly returning to his true form to regain his strength, he began to change again and was once more a fly. He crawled under the door and flew down the hall, occasionally landing on the walls, ceiling, or floor for several seconds to enhance the illusion of being a normal fly.

"Hey, restricted area buddy, so just turn around and crash your meteor somewhere else." midnigt said, getting ready for a fight, as it was almost certain that the enemy would ignore the sugestion and fight anyway. Pos formed aglowing red orb in his hand and Neg placed his hands near it, electric rings now circleing it like an atom.

"Oh no thanks, I like it here. Who knows?" he began, fire surrounding his fists and feet. "I may even work up a SWEAT!" he threw balls of fire at the three, aiming for their heads. Finding what he was looking for, Mithos returned to normal and waited behind a corner. A gun soldier walked by and was knocked unconcious by a quick chop to the neck. Mithos removed the man's glove and pressed the man's finger against the DNA scanner. After the scan was registered, the door to the security hall opened. Mithos shut the door behind him, then broke the opening mechanisms with a few swift kicks to keep the doors shut. He looked ahead at the long hall of lasers and automatic turrets. Mithos smiled.

None the less, it was still powerfull enough to be thrown at Dusk with a great amount of speed. Midnight however, didn't have any projectiles, so she took a risk and went in for a direct hit.

He didn't even try to avoid the attack. When she hit him, he laughed. "You're gonna have to try better than that!" he said, releasing a large wave of fire from his body. Mithos leapt above the first few lasers, slid underneath the next five, jumped onto the wall and triangle jumped off of them to get past the next few, and at the end, where there was a large number of lasers crossing eachother, surrounded himself with a shield of ice. Upon going through the lasers, the ice reflected the lasers and allowed him to pass through without setting off an alarm. Never one to be overconfident, Mithos proceeded cautiously. Each time he passed an automatic turret, he would evade them with his incredible speed and destroy them each with a single kick. He finally came to the final room, where a Chaos Emerald was placed on a high platform. Mithos remained where he was, listening, smelling, and looking at the room around him.

"Well how much better is this!?" She jumped a considerable distance and came down with kick, at a quick rate. "'bout time you got here." a voice said to mithos. The chaos emerald was lifted into the air and flipped up and down, up and down, as Ace the hawk faded into veiw, holding the gem. "you don't have to worry about any alarms in this room, if you want this emerald, the only thing left to get past is me."

He clenched his fingers into a fist and slammed it into the ground, causing the surrounding area to shake violently. Mithos smiled. "I knew it wouldn't be that easy." he said. "Well then, shall we get started?" he asked, lifting one foot into the air, kicking several times to warm up.

Pos and Neg now had a new charge though, and they wasted no time in tossing it at dusk. "it's three on one, you can't win!" pos said confidently. "Yeah!" Neg reinforced "you didn't expect us to just leave it in the hands of a couple of turrnets did you?" Ace said, readying his razor wings. "and yes, I guess we should." he said before flying into the air and dive bombing down on the hedgehog. (last post for tonight for me)

"Well then, maybe I should even the odds!" he said. A green shield surrounded his body, taking on his own shape. "You may have me outnumbered, but how long have you been training?!" he demanded of them, still with a maniacal smirk. Mithos shook his head. "Unlike my brother, I do not recklessly charge into combat. I knew G.U.N wouldn't allow such treasures to remain out in the open as it might of well have been. Dusk was trained from combat and I for infiltration, but that doesn't mean I'm not an adequet fighter." he explained. As he spoke, Mithos ran to the side. He was moving at such speed that he seemed to be a blur. And when he stopped, he stopped. There was no slowing down. "Oh, and by the way. Even though your friends have Dusk outnumbered, I have you outnumbered." he said, lifting his arm. A small pocket appeared in the space, and a black Chaos Chao emerged from the hole. The Chao, oddly enough, was a Hero Chaos Chao. "This is Phaze." he said as the Chao looked at Ace.
