I just know they are. I mean, the Sonic and Mario game and the Sonic racing game are just small methods of their madness. We have yet to see info of a "pure" Sonic game, but I have speculation Sonic Team is at the works to work on a game and not tell anyone. Sure, it's just a made up fantasy, but I honestly think something is in the works. We have not heard about a new "pure" Sonic game for over a year! OVER A YEAR! Which leads me to think something is in the works. Whether it's Unleashed 2 or the re-make of Adventure, I do not know. One thing I do know is that Sonic Team has been quiet. Hmm... Interesting theory. Aren't they always planning ahead? It doesn't nessecarily mean they ARE planning something, but it's nice to believe they are. Personally I would like to see a 3D Sonic Battle. I mean, imagine Emerl in 3D.

It's more or less just a theory. No evidence backs it up. They've just been awfully quiet, so I think we're ready for a Sonic Boom very shortly. |

After the backlash they got over Unleashed's werehog and the way the game ended, I highly doubt it's gonna be the one that comes back. As for a new Adventure... I really hate to be an ass about it but if they were going to do a SA3 they would have done that instead of Heroes. The logical point of insertion has been passed long ago... it's like asking for a Sonic 4, to follow up from Sonic 3 & Knuckles... just is not going to happen  Although I do agree, you are right. It's been some time since we heard anything new about a Sonic game... unless the Olympics and the new racing game ARE the main titles, in which case they'd best be making sure they're good. The Winter Olympics will rock, so long as they stick roughly to the same format as the first game. The racing one will get bashed if it's like Mario Kart and bashed if it isn't so that's automatically going to fall flat on its face. Next game.... will have another useless new character in it, probably won't have the Chaotix in it, and will NOT allow you to go back to the first level and power through the game as Super Sonic by collecting 50 rings and jumping up into the air... |

Hmm... I don't know about you. But I like the silence. Not that I don't want to see a new title around the corner. But seeing the smaller projects is more then enough, then to have em, throw yet another title in our faces. So, I see the Winter Olympics and the new Racing games the main titles. They have even mentioned a remake. That's more then enough already. The so called big title won't come around until at least next year. And that doesn't mean it's release will be around 2011. What game it will be like. Well what MoD said, and it's likely to happen again. A new character is thrown in the series, that will be ether mocked or loved from the fans. So in all, I wish there won't be any announcement for the moment. Make em concentrate on what they already have, and then think about any future titles. Edited by DragonFlame, Sep 6 2009, 08:38 AM.

Yeah, they have been quiet, i just hope they don't screw up the next game by introducing a new concept that will easily be mocked. I don't understand SEGA; "a hedgehog with a gun, what could possibly go wrong?" "a werehog, what could possibly go wrong?" "a hedgehog with a sword, what could possibly go wrong?" How did they not see the bad reviews coming? |

I'm 99.9% sure that the next Sonic game is already in pre-production, if not past that. These games' development cycles run concurrent with each other. Unleashed was being meddled with as far back as 2001 and Sonic '06 as far back as 2003, even with all of the spin-off titles, re-releases, ports and whatnot that they developed and released since. They're working on something. What; I'm not sure of. But what I am sure about is that at least half of you are gonna hate it anyways, so little point in getting your hopes up now. xP |

SoniChronicles 2? DEFINITELY. Sonic Unleashed 2? Werehog is shot... with a silver bullet. Sonic 4? Seriously, no. Riders 3? No... It's too many racing games for now. What I think? There gonna publish Sonic Chronicles 2, then wait for a little while, publishing small things, maybe a NiGHTS game, maybe a Billy Hatcher game, maybe more Superstars, just spinoffs... then, when their ready, they'll bring out A HUGE GAME!!! |

It's made by Bioware. Sonic Team doesn't involve mainly into this project. So it shouldn't be considered as a priority and there for won't be a reason why a great announcement will/could come out sooner. Checked no resources so if I'm wrong, then bah! I only assumed because Chronicles isn't made by Sonic Team/SEGA that is. |

Actually, I was talking about the Adventure DX remake, not an actual Adventure game, but it would be great if they made one. And I have no problem with new characters so long as they are substantial. |

Yeah, but that was intentionally a filler release on a different platform to make a bit more cash. And didn't Chain of Memories come BEFORE KH2? Besides, that's Square Enix for you. They like prequels and oddly ordered titles in a series. The SA3 theory, as you put it, is broken. SA2 came out quite a long time ago now, nearly ten years. And if there was going to be a SA3, it could have come out by now. I would like to see how they carry the series on - oh wait, they did, with Sonic Heroes

^ You should check out the Metroid time line sometime, those games are all over the place. For example the next game (Other M) is set after Super Metroid (the Snes game) and before Metorid fusion (GBA game). |

So? Comparing the Sonic series - which is always linear with its titles and plots - is a bit unfair. I give in, you're clutching at straws THERE WILL BE NO SONIC ADVENTURE 3. If this changes then I'll... think of some sort of penance I guess

True, but it's nothing more then that. It's not like SEGA them self have to wait for this to become finished before announcing another great project. So I still don't count with Chronicles as one of the minor. That's all about the All Star Racing game and now the possibility of a remake to Sonic Adventure that I found most intriguing. At least because I've never tried the series, and what makes em so good, well I could have the chance to test it. So still bound that there won't be any new announcement till next year. What do we know, maybe on the next E3. |

^Pretty much this. Although I don't agree with the topic starter that MASAWOTG isn't ''big''. Given the fact that Sega said, its going to get the biggest Marketing campaign ever (kinda) and the sheer amount of money there going to make from it, is more than they'd make from any ''main'' sonic title. Its pretty important. |

Well, I assume they'll make a game for 2011, since it is the 20th anniversary of the franchise. It may or may not have a new hedgehog, since I think all the new hedgies came out on the anniversaries (except Amy). I wish they made an Unleashed 2, especially since there were those infamous comments on how the Werehog could return. |
