Sandopolis Act 2
|
Taylor caught the next platform, and pulled himself up. He could see Gauge coming his way fast, and the hedgehog had visibly bulked up. He had a feeling what was going to happen next... More or less, Taylor would end up rammed or punched off the platform and into the abyss. But as long as the distance ended up closed, Taylor wasn't out of it yet. He'd jump to the next platform, then send a flame-augmented punch that would hopefully stop Gauge cold, and more importantly release some seriously irritating blue smoke. Aetheric smoke tended to end up everywhere once it came out. |

(Turns after activation: 1) Gauge quickly dodged the punch as he aimed an uppercut at his opponent's chin. His increased muscle mass didn't seem to hinder his maneuverability. (I know it's a little...short.) |

Sandopolis Act 2
|
He tried to twist out of the way. He honestly tried. The punch caught Taylor in the neck and sent him closer to the edge of the platform; he felt bile rising in his throat. The blue aetheric smoke rose from where his flaming hands hit the "ground." He was getting desperate. The smoke sent Taylor into a brief coughing fit, obscured his sight of Gauge, put a buzzing noise in his ears, and made him itch a bit. It would do the same to Gauge if he tried to go through the smokescreen; but as it was a side effect of Taylor's technique, the pyro would get up either before Gauge if he was caught in the smoke, or sooner than Gauge expected if he wasn't. Either way, it would end up with a fist speeding out of a roiling field of blue at Gauge. |

(Turns after activation: 2) Gauge knew something was up with the smoke when he saw it was blue. He decided against going in. He crossed his arms, just waiting for his opponent's next move. Suddenly, he saw a punch coming at him from the smoke. Gauge would quickly duck under this attack as he made for a sweeping kick for Taylor's feet. Whether or not this attack connected, he would immediately follow-up by thrusting a kick upwards at his opponent's chin. |

Sandopolis Act 2
|
Taylor tried to angle his punch down as he felt air; because he had a feeling he'd get hit again. He was not disappointed in that respect. He fell over from the sweeping kick, then the uppercut got him just under his chin. He ended up going over Gauge in a flip due to the combined effect of the attacks on his momentum, and ended up landing on his butt. As he came down, though, he went for an elbow jab to Gauge's back, simultaneously drawing the handgun again. Seven shots, still. After landing, he threw up again. |

(I'm only on for a little bit today.) (Turns after activation: 3) The elbow jab connected with Gauge's back. But the hedgehog simply turned toward his opponent as though it was nothing. "You think you can beat me? You stand no chance. I lead my friends in a war against an evil ruler where I come from. I've fought off countless forces, and I've cheated death on several occasions through sheer force of will. If you persist in fighting me, you will surely die," the grey hedgehog told his opponent. |

Sandopolis Act 2
|
Taylor didn't pay attention to what Gauge said. He's still on this platform. It's a point-blank shot, he thought. In one fluid motion, he was up on a knee and half-turned so that the gun barrel less than a foot from the spot right between the hedgehog's eyes. He wasn't a fool, Gauge had as good as handed him the match, not attacking while Taylor was throwing up. So it was now Taylor's own life, or Gauge's. He decided instantly. The Saber released its deadly payload into a collision course with the hedgehog's face. |

(Turns after activation: 4) Wordlessly, Gauge threw up another Chaos Shield to protect himself the moment he saw Taylor aim his gun. The bullet(s) ricocheted off in different directions. When the current attack was over, the barrier of Chaos Energy dissipated. "As I have just said. You don't stand a chance against me," the hedgehog said as he pulled back his fist. He then threw a punch down at his opponent. If Taylor managed to avoid the attack, the force of the blow would instead hit the platform the two were on and cause it to crumble. |

Sandopolis Act 2
|
(Shenanigans.) Gauge's terminal punch went for Taylor's skull... and whiffed entirely, passing through a convincing mirage and into the platform. Taylor had thrown up the mirage right after the shot, and jumped away once he saw the shield come up. Now, he was on the next platform over, yelling, "GOD, MY LEG!" Taylor had landed hard on that last-ditch jump, and his leg refused to work from the pain from this point. |

(Turns after activation: 5) Gauge didn't expect the mirage as his fist hit the platform, which now began to crumble under his feet. He couldn't get off the platform in time, falling with the many pieces which were once the area he stood on. But he still had a trick up his sleeve as he tapped his feet together. The soles of his shoes glowed as he began to rise into the air. His body rotated until he was facing Taylor. "You are just full of tricks, aren't you?" he said as he shot toward his opponent, head first with both fists poised to strike. |

Damn. Taylor grimaced. He thought for sure Gauge would've been a goner taking out that platform. He would have to come up with something very fast in order to not have every bone in his body shattered by the furry missile. It came to him in a flash of intuition; he fell onto his back and snatched at Gauge's shirt. If he caught the shirt, his grip wouldn't last long; but it only had to last long enough for him to get the advantage. |

(Turns after activation: 6. Deactivation.) (Turns until nanobots become available: 5) Gauge's attack missed as he felt Taylor grab the collar of his shirt. In an effort to shake him off, he spiraled upward into the air. As he did, the nanobots in his body deactivated. His muscles returned to normal, as did his strength and endurance. |

Sandopolis Act 2

Taylor had to fight off another wave of nausea as Gauge spiraled into the air with him in tow. He could feel his grip start to slip already as he tried to knee Gauge in the groin. |

(Dude, low blow...literally. I'll let you have this one, but it won't end up in the groin.) (Turns until nanobots are available: 4) Still trying to get his opponent off, Gauge suddenly stopped going upward, the momentum causing relatively loose objects to jerk upward. He didn't notice that Taylor was trying to attack him with his knee. Thankfully for Gauge, the attack went higher than the intended target, Taylor's knee hitting Gauge square in the abdomen. Putting the momentum of the stop into account, the blow hit the hedgehog hard. |

Sandopolis Act 2
|
(I am getting desperate.) The momentum given Taylor carried him about a foot or so higher than where Gauge had stopped. He was going to hate the landing, provided he didn't pancake or fall into the abyss. He'd worry about that later. At the apex of his 'flight,' he ignited his right hand and thrust it at a downward angle to Gauge's torso, right in the center. If he was going to end up breaking both legs at best, he'd at least make one last attempt to take his opponent down with him. So this is it... (I suppose I'm obligated to say 'good game,' and leave this in the hands of the judges now.) Edited by RabidChoco, Sep 14 2009, 06:43 PM.
