Launch Base Act 2
|
A loud clap echoed through out the battle zone. Rai gave an applause to his opponent. Chuckling as he did so. "I commend you on your efforts. You are surely amusing." He stepped off onto another platform as he headed toward John casually. "You've even managed to place a prominent wound on me." Touching the wound on his chest from earlier, which had turned black, as he spoke. "Now however wounded you are stand up. Fight me till the very end. You may be a worm in my eyes but at least you can die like a respectable one." Finishing his speech the reptile got into position and began to sprint toward John. Wind surged around him as he began to cut through resistance to speed up his dash. When getting close to John he ducked down low and launched his fist upward for a dashing uppercut with his right. Aimed nowhere in particular, but launched to be devastating to whatever body part it hit. |

Let the winds of change and fires of creation dance to my desire!
|
"Now however wounded you are stand up. Fight me till the very end. You may be a worm in my eyes but at least you can die like a respectable one." Those words made a smile spread across my face. "And you may be a stereotypical type of person, but if I die by your hands, whether I be in Heaven or Hell, I'll say I died to the better one." Then I saw him racing twoards me. I focused on a mental image, that of water. When he tossed that uppercut, I focused.... Shifting my body, like a stream of water. I then took hold of one of his wings, and drove an elbow down on it, intending to break it. |

MATCH PERIOD OVER, JUDICIAL REVIEW UNDERWAY Rai Fair Play 7/10 You were the force of the fight and showed much more allowance than I have seen in prior attempts regarding taking damage. You seemed to get hit respectably and give your opponent time to dodge. It did seem like you were on a near constant offensive drive but in your defense, John was playing D or planning about as often as he was attacking so it skews things a bit. I thought the gun play got a little constant but the strong shot damaging the gun barrel helped even out my opinion. Grammar 9/10 Only minor issues in areas and a missing period in one of your posts, don't fret on it. Adaptation to Setting 9/10 You started off by making your character get a better footing on the platforms, sacrificing a quick offensive for battlefield awareness. I found that to be a nice touch. You used attacks that were meant to at least try and hurl your opponent into the void, and you kept good pace concerning the falling platforms. No super creative use of the arena but very solid use overall. Entertainment Value 8/10 Considering your mentioned lack of motivation you stuck with the gameplan as best you could and overall displayed nice detail of actions and environment. Describing sizes of attacks, possible outcomes, and throwing in quotes that either add to the cool factor of your character's personality along with adding sound effect like quotes that added a welcome change from pure action and seriousness, giving me a little to laugh about. Somethin about "KuKuKu..." makes me laugh a bit. =P Lack of motivation led you to points where you would run out of gas a bit but you recovered nicely. 33/40 John Stone Fair Play 7/10 You typically accounted well in the fair play category, but like your opponent had a couple iffy spots. Part of me didn't sit well with you being able to summon an extra sword on the fly, granted it was weaker and you still took the hit. It kind of went up and down but it was iffy enough to maybe focus on a tad more in the future.. since its hard to turn an opponents offensive uppercut into an elbow drop by yourself by any means. You seemed to have a near unlimited surplus of energy with with to generate electric fields/barriers, shock blasts, and summon swords, or at least an adversely high amount you could burn fast early without worry. Grammar 6/10 Tons of commas and periods, granted I speak like that when chatting but something about me doesn't sit well with a sentence break every four words. Commas appeared where periods should have been and at times what you were saying or trying to say came out very fragmented. Adaptation to Setting 7/10 Again, like your opponent, solid use and acknowledgement of the battleground. No special unique uses for the bonus points but the use was respectable and solid as should be expected. I was only a little bothered that in spots you could go 3 or more posts without making a platform hop (in your writing at least.) Entertainment Value 6/10 I did like the use of the 1st person style of RPing, definitely an original style to use in a tournament environment like this, and on this website where I don't remember it being used at all in the former 2 renditions. You made solid use of sensory details and did add some comedy to an otherwise strongly serioud confrontation... I swear you get bonus points for hitting yourself below the belt to wake up. What really hurt you was all of the ridiculously short responses, one being literally 2 sentences long, and that is inexcusable from a judiciary standpoint.. At times you also threw in memory inserts that just seemed out of place when they were used, not horrible, but not great execution. I hate to say it, but if your posts lacked some of the things that made me laugh, your 6 would be dangling in the 4-5 range. 26/40 Awaiting TUC's half of the Judging before winner is decided |

RAI Fair Play: 6/10 You took a couple of hits, but considering you had electricity being hurled at you n countless occasions, you shrugged off a lot more than I would normally expect. Grammar: 7/10 Your spelling was great, but grammatically it was a bit faulty in places. Adaptation to Surroundings: 5/10 Apart from one or two instances (especially that one where you nearly fell off), you did rely a bit too heavily on your flight and more or less ignored the platforms. Entertainment: 8/10 You provided some nice description and pulled off some interesting manouvers. Characterisation was also good. JOHN STONE Fair Play: 9/10 Admirable effort here. You took a lot of blows and not once resorted to anything suspect. Grammar: 8/10 Your spelling was also great, but some of your wording did feel a bit stilted. Adaptation to Environment: 8/10 You did use the platforms quite often and were constantly on the move. Didn't take things much further than that, but then again, you didn't really need to. Entertainment: 6/10 You played well and your constantly varied approach to combat was fun to watch, but your posts were rather short and not very descriptive. Your first-person writing style IS good, but you have to remember that your character notices more than just his foe and his interior monologueing. ![]() Great match guys; you two have your own fascinting and unique approaches to roleplaying and it was exciting to see how you played off one another. Good luck to whoever goes on to the next round! Rai - 26 John Stone - 31 Adding up the scores and we have: Rai - 59 John Stone - 57 Winner of this round is Rai. |

John's move was daring, but it proved costly as the elbow failed to do the intended damage. Rai took off, dipping in pain as the hit connected. The sudden jerking shook John free.. over the abyss. Falling into the darkness, he was quickly followed by Rai who was barely able to pull out of his nosedive on a gimp wing. The crowd cheers, from their view both fighters had fallen and perished.. the cheers remaining consistent however some broke into boos as Rai rose back from the abyss slowly, landing on a solid platform and inspecting what he can of his weakened wing. "MMMmm Impressive.. and here I thought mr. powerful and almighty was one and done. Guess you proved me wrong." Sadistic chimed happily over the audience. Snapping his fingers, Rai began to fade back to the cafeteria. "Lets see how you fare in Round 2." He grinned evilly as Rai completely dissipated. (Rai is returned to the Cafeteria/John is now eligible for the Void.) |
