K, the movie is about a scientist who creates a machine "Brain" to create machines of peace, but it goes horribly awry and the machines turn against man and kill everyone. In a desperate attempt to protect the spark of life, he transfers his soul into 9 different heroes, and a device that can restore the spark of life to earth. 1: the somewhat harsh leader. 2: old and brittle 3 and 4: very curious twins 5: lost his left eye when the robots rebelled, friends with 2 6: Draws the device and is slightly crazy 7: female and a born warrior, she is very kind. 8: the muscle, very cruel 9: the one who helps everyone realize where their destiny lies. together they must save earth from the remaining machines, including the "Brain" |

I soooo wanna see this movie, really badly. Too bad it comes out here, where I live, most likely a few months after its "real" release date. I mean, even 'Up' isn't out where I live. :l Also, I've heard that the song 'Welcome Home' isn't in the movie itself? What a shame. |

Well.. I saw the movie and I must contradict my own statement. 9 was a bore for me, a letdown. The story seemed to be all over the place and never had a clear direction, even by the end I felt like this movie was a little hollow. Plus the typical scientists=stupid/helpless and military=evil statements are far to common to really appreciate much anymore. I can't bash the animation, the movie really does look fantastic and is stylized wonderfully but visuals aren't everything... and as the story makes good looks fall flat on it's face, the damage leads to an all around experience that I can't really appreciate. |
