[Solved] Does this topic really need to be stickied?

Deleted User	I don't see why this topic is stickied. It's not important in any way, and it's not updated. Anybody with a brain could just use an RSS feed.

I still can't use this. Posts: 6,546 Group: Former Monarchs Member #6,722 Joined: March 16, 2008	I was going to unpin that thread and the other similar ones when I originally worked on the pinned topics last year. However, there was quite a bit of opposition to that decision so they're still there. Metallix will have to decide that one. xP Just go with it.

Posts: 6,546 Group: Former Monarchs Member #6,722 Joined: March 16, 2008	There's tons of humorous gaming reviewers out there: AVGN, Spoony, Yahtzee, etc. But why is Ashens above any of them as to warrant his own pinned topic? Better yet, what makes their presence so necessary that any one of these jokers needs a pinned topic? Absolutely nothing. It's a general gaming section, not a gaming critic or Ashens section. The whole point of a pinned topic is that said topic should absolutely hold prime importance above others. Some topics can be pinned indefinitely or not, and sure I'll admit that many topics now need to be unpinned, but the whole point is to draw the viewer's attention to a topic out of necessity or convenience of good information. What is so necessary or convenient about Dr. Ashens to the section in comparison to something like the gamer ID topic? Ashens is just an entertainer. He doesn't define gaming or our gaming section, nor does that topic really add anything to the section as a whole by being pinned. Thus, I see no reason why his topic needs to be up there.

I believe the only reason it's still there is because Pacfan put it there... and all it's doing is cluttering the pinned topics in there because it isn't important enough to warrant the pin. And beyond that even... the thread is not even regularly updated since Pacfan left so a good amount of his videos are not even available on that page which makes it even less worthy of its pinned position.

That makes a lot of sense. I'll take it down then, but using that logic there really shouldn't be anything pinned because you can find IDs in a person's profile if they have one... I don't see a point for that topic.
