Some reorganization

I decided to do some reorganization, I hav done some with the creative studio and may do more.

My question is zone 5 really needed? The ihost zone is deserted and i guess the competition could stay if tf will still do it.

The joinable groups that have been dead for along time will be removed, if you want something similar back you'll have to give good cause since you could have kept the group busy in the first place.

The iHost zone is dead because nobody's got any idea for a contest. It's made unclear if just anyone can make a contest.

The joinable groups need to be scrapped, and badly. There's no need for any of them.

I say you should definitly scrap the joinable groups, but keep the iHost zone and explain it better. If that fails, scrap it.

I thought it was pretty obvious that it was for everyone, it's in the description. I guess if I give some examples it would help give ideas to people?

All member contests, events, etc will be held here. If you have a good idea for an event of any nature, host it here. This forum will be moderated so if any unrealistic events are hosted, they will not be posted. Put thought into it, have dedication, and have fun!

I was just thinking more along the lines of saying you don't need express permission.

I still can't use this.

I've never understood why contests just couldn't be held in the Museum. Irregardless of the fact that the competitors were lazy, the art-based one I made got plenty of attention there. The way I see it, having such a section is unnecessary specialization. The Tri-Annual thingie, I understand, considering it's supposed to be a huge event with tons of nominations and topics, and even then it's not a permanent endeavor, but something like the avatar contest or the fangame contest could do just fine in the Museum.

Actually, in my opinion it needs to be scrapped. I was the only one who actually ever entered anything in time. Not to mention everyone's just talking about their fan game rather than posting it. :P

That's true but with a dedicated section like this it allows members to know that anyone can create their own contests, unless you think we should create a faq outlining these unwritten rules.

I'm going to be reviving both contests soon ok. Don't worry about the contests. I might not have my position anymore, but with Cy's help occationally, I can still do what needs to be done around here. I'll just make any awards and such that need to be done myself instead of arguing trying to get it done.
I'm a gamer and always will be a gamer. If you don't believe me. I have 430 Video Games and 19 Consoles.

I doubt you could beat that unless you are a gamer as well! =P

So, let's see if you can outdo "The Jet Gamer"

@ Metallix: Then that would be holding members' hands and underestimating them which is something I absolutely hate doing. xP

If you want me to be brutally honest, then I believe that members don't create contests not because it isn't spelled out for them in big neon letters, but because they don't care enough to make any hence why the section bombed; It's a niche' activity here. As a result, it's not something we even need to heavily promote anyways (We're a Sonic board first and foremost and thus should be pushing for better activity and behavior in the Sonic sections), although successful contests admittedly spice up the board's atmosphere.

Now, if you absolutely need to have members create more contests around here, then the easiest way to do that would simply be to set the example by making more contests. The members will undoubtedly follow in our footsteps if they've ever had the urge to make any themselves. In fact, seeing other contests early on run by you and Pac was how I learned that I could make and run them too, so I did. This way, you have contests being made without the unnecessary addition of an entirely new board.

Ok, that'll work. Thanks for continuing the contests. I may move it to zone4 depending on what gets done with zone 5.

It is your choice if you move them or not, but keeping them where they have their own forum still does help them get seen. When contests are hidden in another forum, there is a chance that it might not be seen.

I'll start up a new avatar contest later today, that one really needs to be revived anyway and is the easiest contest to run anyway.

@Bliz, i see what you're saying but i have had tons of people asking me if it was ok to do a certain contest. I still think a forum specific faq outlining these things like being able to create any contest you want is a good idea.

You will always have tons of people asking you about such a thing regardless. xP You can make a faq, or at the very least just mention it in the section's rules or description, but again you don't need to break your back to get people to perform a niche' activity here.

Actually, if we were to keep the contests, we should probably make a new rank for people who host contests. Like a contest host rank or something. That way you'll at least know there won't be any idiotic contests going on.
