Yeah we knew it was going there before, but it looks like it's in heavy production now. I hope it comes out in Fall. Also Nolan North, the VA for Drake, should be the actor to play him. Drake has to have the same voice, it would just be unacceptable not to have that voice.

News in Hollywood travels fast!

I am happy to confirm that it is indeed true, Sony Computer Entertainment has signed a deal with Columbia Pictures for a movie adaptation of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and it will be produced by Avi Arad, Charles Roven, Ari Arad and Alex Gartner. We have been working with Avi and the folks and Columbia for quite some time and look forward to sharing additional details on the film in the short future. Obviously we designed the game to be a cinematic experience and we too can’t wait to see it on the big screen.

So, who do you think should play Nathan Drake?

Its great to see the game is hitting the big screen, maybe this will attract even more people to play the first game before the second comes out.

Meh, I'm going to be a bit skeptical since pretty much all video game movies have been a bust. But the Uncharted series seems like a great possible series to rival against Indiana Jones(which I thought Crystal Skull killed the IJ series). I hope it will be good.

I'm thinking it will be good because the game had a movie-like story unlike games in the past that have been made into movies. Apparently it has been in production for a year and a half.

AmyH, Creative Director of Naughty Dog has announced, in a recent liveblog over at the official Playstation Blog, that the U:DF movie has been in some form or another of production for the last year and a half, saying:

‘ We’re really excited about the development of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune as a movie — we’ve been working with Arad Productions for the last year-and-a-half or so, and couldn’t be happier about their enthusiasm for the project. We’re looking forward to sharing more info with you all as soon as we can. :) ’.

Hopefully this means that the movie is rather far along and that more information will be released soon.

*Still waiting on the Bioshock movie...*

It's about time Naughty Dog got a movie deal. Crash may not have been movie material, but the Jak series had a pretty interesting plot and I would have loved to see a movie based that. I guess Uncharted probably has the most cinematic appeal of anything they've done.

RIP BILLY MAYS. HIS VOICE WAS LOUD, HIS FACE WAS BEARD.

He's overrated, doesn't sound anything like drake, doesn't look anything like drake, and probably can't act as well as drake.

Jason Rubin, the founder of Naughty Dog, looks most like Drake but probably can't act.

I say Nolan North, the VA for Drake, should be the actor in the movie. Nolan North is not only a VA, he is also an actor. He had to do motion capture and act out all of the cutscenes. He can act, he has the voice, he should be in the movie!

'Nathan Drake = Young Harrison Ford' is more like it.

Either way I'd see this movie should the concept and trailers appeal to me, but as of right now I'm seeing it as a return to the old Indiana Jones days in a way. Maybe Uncharted will start that cycle all over again and eventually a super old insert name here will grace the big screen in Uncharted 14 where an elderly Drake fights off Soviets and aliens with a suspiciously familiar Crystal Alien Skull that he found locked in a janitors closet full of mementos.

In all seriousness, yes I will see this movie if it seems like a movie worth seeing, same as any other.
