Flying Battery Act 2

"Hate" is an awful strong word for this, don't you think? You should calm down. This sort of language only burns bridges and encourages divisions amongst us. You make it sound like if we're not with you, we're your enemy, like this is some kind of war. Do we really need something like that over something as trivial as a handheld? I do not want to buy a DSi myself for no backwards compatibility of course. Does that mean I hate the system? No. I just don't think it would be worth my money, because I still have GBA games I want to play. I would prefer to invest the money elsewhere, like this new iPod Nano I just bought. Yes, I can download some of my old GBA games, but I don't want to pay for them again just for the DSi, and I don't think they'd have some of the more obscure ones I still like. The rest of the system sounds pretty neat. But what I care about the most in the end when buying a game system is being able to play games. Unfortunately, that's my final judgment after weighing all the strengths and weaknesses of buying one, when I've already got a DS Lite. Edited by Nail Strafer, Jun 28 2009, 06:22 PM.

The DSi isn't the greatest handheld ever made nor is it horrible. |

That is actually a false statement, like the PSP and laptops, the DSi draws from nearby Wi-Fi connections that may or may not be free and/or accessible. It just depends on where you are located. And who cares if the cameras are better than most phones, most phones also have crap camera quality. |

What is the res of the dsi camera anyway (like 2mp)? I am really hoping that nintendo add more appealing games to the dsi store. I like the dsi , but I was not the first handheld to have a internet broswer nor wifi shop channel...but we should all know that. I really hope they also will release some dsi only titles using the camera.

As I stated in the other topic, I bought my DS to play games on the go. I bought it for about $120. The new additions featured in the DSi are just extra bonuses. I see no reason to buy the newer one when my DS plays games fine. If I had not bought a DS, it is possible I would buy the new one. Although it is $160 I'm hearing. I'm really picky when it comes to spending money and I do think money wise I would be more likely to pick a DS lite/used system. I really don't have a big care for the flashy things that come with the game though, if the system just so happens to have a camera or the interwebz, I guess it's just a bonus perk. I buy the system to play games on the go. And not that it is a big hassle, but I still have my GBC and GBA. It's just if I wanted to play some of the older games, I have to pull the other systems out. [[I do believe they need new batteries.]] Edited by SuperShadowgal, Jun 29 2009, 06:49 PM.

At last someone who makes sense! Yay go Nail! Hate is such an overly used word and so unnecessary especially when we are discussing a games console/handheld... No need for that people! I am not someone who plays GBA games on my DS Lite but that doesn't mean I won't EVER. I like having the option there, I don't want my console to have a huge bright screen and tiny little buttons. I want one that is sizeable, HANDHELD (not children hands adult hands!) and something I am able to see but without it being so glaringly bright it gives me a migraine. It's all a matter of taste, I am not one who has the most interest in the latest and greatest console upgrades, I just want something that does it's job and doesn't cost a lot of money, the DSi costs a lot of money and seems wasted. |

All I could say is I would never use the GBA slot and not just because I don't have any GBA games. lol Mainly because I never used backwards compatibility on my PS2 or PS3. It's good for some people, but when there are so many new games coming out I never have any interest in playing old games. Usually I'll play old games after like 5-10 years when I just want some nostalgia. |

"I didn't use the whole thing ...."

I use the GBA slot all the time, but then I am quite a retro gamer who enjoys a blast on Metriod Zero Mission, plus I still enjoy the old play of Sonic Advance 3. |

Just because the DSi doesn't have a GBA slot doesn't mean it's a bad handheld....Mybe I should have bought more GBA games so I'd see your point... |
