Mushroom Hill Act 2

After so many hate topics complaining about how bad the DSi is because it doesn't have a GBA slot I got fed up with it and decided to make a DSi APPREACIATION forum. Yes, you must talk positive about the DSi. We shall prove the haters wrong! The DSi is the best handheld system ever!!! You'll see... |

I don't really have a problem with the DSi even with its flaws, because I don't own any GBA games. So, GO DSi!!!! Although I don't find it to be the best handheld ever.... |

There is nothing wrong with the DSi aslong as you dont already own a DS or DS lite, in witch case it becomes totally pointless, and even if you didnt own a DS or DS lite you would probably be better off buying one of those as there cheaper and the camera adds only novelty value to the system. |

You can never prove yourself right based on opinions alone and not listening to the other side. Hardware wise it is inferior to the PSP... And the cameras are so pathetic they are not worth the price jump. And why give up GBA slots just so you can re-download perfectly useable games that you could use on a NORMAL DS just because the DSi is too much of a market ploy to not use them. I swear it's just like the retarded PSP GO. I can drive to the Nintendo US Headquarters since I'm like.. 25 minutes away from it and slap some sense back into the higher ups but Microsoft is like... 2 minutes away from them and enjoys watching them screw themselves over.. slowly but surely. But to be positive.. it has really shiny lights and an addicting paper airplane game along with a decently functional internet usage. |

We've only got one topic for the DSi, and yes most of the responses in ti here negative. And THAT'S because the features don't appeal to them. The fact that they haven't tried the new features on the DSi that doesn't mean they don't already have them, or want them. Differences Finish All you got to do is clean the fingerprints off the DS like you do when your cleaning them off of glasses and sunglasses. Fine I'll give that the finish may have helped in the cleaning job, but one can also purchase a cover and avoid this completely, in face my friend did that with his DS lite. Screen size 1/4[sip]th[/sup] of an inch wider? It's like when youTube announced that they made that change to their video screens (and some videos actually couldn't play due to this). By the words of RandomDCE: "what kind of fail is THIS?" System Size and Weight Not much to talk about really. The GBA is better in the making things smaller department (GBA Micro as a reference). The DS design will always be big, and a Power Button Don't care. It's function is always the same, despite the difference. Power on, power off. Battery Life DSi's battery life is much shorter than the DS. You'll be paying more money on the electricity bill in order to charge your DSi more frequently (though this depends on how much and how long you play it). Battery life means more play time. DSi has 1-6 hours lesser play time than the DS. Software DSi Plays has DSi specific games, but kicks out the GBA games in return. If the games on the DSi are much better than I thought, then I'll miss out. But that's only until Nintendo makes the next hand held console. Input-Output Ports SD memory card slot for it's new features/additions. GBA Slot feels to be a DS exclusive. I've got a TON of GBA games and so I sold my SP to get a DS, because it had the GBA Slot. Again, I bet if the DSi wasn't resized the GBA slot could have been saved. And that's just comparing the DS Lite to the DSi. DSi Additions Camera I've already got a decent camera with a few lens to attach to it, as well as a large memory card to go with it. Plus my laptop's got a built in camera and microphone. Built In Music Player I've already got an iPod to play my music, plus it holds up to 80+gigabytes and plays videos. The battery life of the DSi is most likely much shorter than my iPod's. Built In Internet Browser I've got a laptop to do my web browsing place I've got access to my typing programs, MSPaint, Freecell, and other things I've install on it. Improved Internet Access Security Don't know what it is, don't really care. The DSi additions are quite pointless to me. I've already got them. So why bother spending... what? about $200 for a DSi when some of it's additions are accessible through a computer? Edited by `TakeCare, Jun 28 2009, 01:19 AM.

No one is bashing the DSi, we are just saying that its not worth getting with the current features it has, just because our opinion differs to yours does not mean we are bashing something. |

I won't point any fingers but some of you were saying that the DSi is stupid because it doesn't have a GBA slot. I recently got a bag the is a little bit longer, taller, and wider than a DSi. It has pockets for the cartidges and all. And it fits my DSi AND my original DS without a problem. The bag is also not taller than my head! If your willing to spend alittle money then you could carry around 3 DSs in one bag if you wanted!

The difference is the PSP Go will have some way of downloading your already purchased UMDs for free. Not sure how that will work yet, but that's Sony's plan. As far as screwing themselves over... Really? They've already sold 100 million of them and the DSis are reigniting the interest in the platform. |

The DSi is fine to me, not buying it though since I already own a DS Lite, and have made great use of it(All the grinding on Pokemon Platinum/Pearl. >_>). But as Eevee stated, if you already own a DS Lite, there is simply no reason to buy the DSi. Plus, the DS Lite already has an internet software you can buy for about 30 bucks. I mean, why waste 130$ for such a for such a half-assed product that has things that most people should have already(Phone with camera, Ipod, and a laptop or a PC). I don't hate the DSi, mind you. I just don't see the point in buying such a thing. |

The DSi has a higher quality camera than most phones. And you can do more than just look at the photos. There is a Wario Ware DSi download that lets you move around on the camera to play it. I did not have a DS lite and internet is free on the DSi. |

Who cares about GBA games. The haters can deal with it. It's not a reason to hate the DSi. I still think it's 10 times better than the DS Lite. I mean, it has a flippin interwebz browser. And downloadable games. 10/10! |
