It's hilarious because Silver can do both. Anyways, I'm fond of the lil' guy. He manages to separate from his excessively obvious DBZ counterpart by being as ignorant as he is immature. He's a dependent little kid forced to grow up in a independent big man's world which forces him to act the part, and that in turn makes him as amusing as he is easy to sympathize with. It also makes him extremely dangerous because volatile little kids with bone-crushing psychic powers never lead to a good outcome. All of this manages to make him stand out amongst the Sonic cast too. No one in the series has the confidence problems Silver has, not even Tails anymore since his journey to step out of Sonic's shadow has led him to the conclusion that Sonic's shadow is quite comfortable. Silver is a rookie Sonic character, a hero in training, and thus unique which makes me sad that Mr. Nakamura decided that having him living in a different time period was a good idea. This makes it excessively hard for him to have a good reason to appear, although this could be circumvented by having him permanently stuck in the current timeline somehow. But since Sega intends on trying to make this guy more mainstream, maybe they'll surprise us.

I guess that's one of the reasons people hate main characters because it's biased in their favour. shrug Anywho ontopic, if it's any reassurance, I don't think Silver is as unpopular as you'd think. He might not have as many fans as say, Sonic and Shadow, but he certainly has a decent sized fanbase none-the-less. At least from what I've seen. Though admittedly he has his share of haters too. As for me, I ADORE Silver. He's actually one of my top favourites from the whole series. I always, always have a soft spot for characters with a childish side, or some kind of child-like trait. Even brats. (That's right Jet, I'm lookin' at you. x3 ♥) Silver's attempts at "playing with the big boys" is adorable IMO, as is his appreciation of simple things - like the desert - simply because he'd never experienced anything like it in his own time. I love his naivety and his justice-y personality too, because it's actually quite different to the rest of the cast. I'm all for new flavours. And of course, his relationship with Blaze is very touching, regardless of how you interpret it. Silver FTW~

Now I really have said all I have to say. That was in Shadow the Hedgehog though, so it doesn't count. Sonic wasn't the main character there, therefore the usual logic didn't apply to him.

Silver at least knows how to smile and I am sure he is a bit upset due to Blaze but he isn't half as bad as Shadow and his broody past and all that. I think Silver looks a little lame, Shadow at least looks kinda cool, but at least Silver isn't quite as emo.

Angel Island Act 2 Posts: 59 Group: D-Rank Mobian Member #10,104 Joined: June 28, 2009 Gender: Male Favorite System: Genesis/Mega Drive Favorite Sonic Game: Sonic Adventure 2 Current Mood: Cool	Me and my little both like silver, in fact silver is his favorite because of his powers, which is why he plays with him in 2P mode in 06, since I've beat'n the entire story, it doesn't matter to me.(but damn, we could never get past that last part of the last level. so many failed attempts...) :/ $:\$ Anyway, I find silver cool B4 I even play 06, not just for his powers, but because of that and his slow speed, his gameplay felt more different than shadow and sonic, so if feels your not playing the same game even though you are. in sonic riders Zero gravity and Rivals, he's just another speed character, which tones his unique style way down, which is why I agree to the comment that he should not have been in heroes.
