 I've been on a few forums and this might sound like a good idea for here MAYBE NOT I dunno that's why I'm posting here.

To start there have been all these avatar contests which have been good for member participation. But I've been to a couple of forums where they have templates for avatars that go along with the overall look of the forum.

*HOW THIS WORKS*

Basicly someone makes a fancy lil boarder in Photoshop or GIMP that a member can stick their render in relatively easily and there is clear indication on where names can go. Then they upload the PSD or XCF here and make it avalible for public download and maybe some instruction on how to put what where for those who are new to the programs.

*HOW WE COULD GO ABOUT IT*

I had an idea of just having a little competition between GFX members but I think we could open it up to the public. Cuz we're obviously not the only ones can use use PS here. (insert sarcastic emote)

EXAMPLE OF AVATAR TEMPLATE

So yeah just an idea.

 Interesting... ... Too bad I have to say more than that.

The example sight you put down explains this quite clearly. And, it is, interesting. I just don't think I can play with, I'm just not the art guy.

 Well another thing that the old site did was take requests for these AND have a little gallery that people could choose from. Another idea I just had would be to maybe make a bunch of these for the avatar gallery. Still just an idea.

The scary woman is right. We're using multiple themes so it simply doesn't work, plus barely anyone has photoshop or gimp on the website; which I think is rather sad.
