Everyone once in awhile, some company will produce some limited Sonic memorabilia for the purpose of further sucking the blood from the fanbase. And these recent weeks haven't been an exception as three toys have surfaced on the net:![]() Yes, that's right. Metal Sonic, in the 15 years he's existed, has finally got his own toy. It's one of those Jazwares chibi-things they were pumping out during the Unleashed and Black Knight rush. Better late than never eh? It'll be available on July 23rd from Toys R Us.com starting at $17. ![]() Just to answer your question, no you'll never get away from the Werehog. Ever. Considering how much he was promoted and all of the fur, you'd think a plushie would've been a given already... and a better looking and fluffier one at that. But I suppose that beggers can't be choosers. ![]() And finally, it's a regular Sonic plushie, but coupled with his reluctant buddy Caliburn. You've probably already wondered, "Where in the world is his gauntlet?" Well, if you look at the quality of the above plushie, you'll quickly formulate an answer. Both plushies will be available here and here in August for around $15. |

Okay firstly that Metal Sonic chibi thing is amazing! I would definitely invest in one of them, I always loved Metal and felt cheated that he never got any toys at last someone notices him! The "werehog" plush looks kind of... strange... but then so does the normal one. Good find Bliz, although you do have to wonder why the toys of "old" where a lot better than the new generation of plush toys. I wonder why this is... designers are lazy I guess. |

Yeah, I remember looking in the Christmas Wishbook when I was about four and spying the Sonic and Tails plushies there. That's all there were at the time...and I wanted them, badly. Never did get them. Somehow, though, it seems quality has diminished over time and these still seem more like added hype than anything else. Aside from Metal Sonic...that's pretty epic, but unless I have more space than I imagine I'll have once I get into a dorm, and my roommate is tolerant towards my dorkiness, no Sonic merchandise will be hitting my shelves for quite a while .

Aaaaaw Eighteen this makes me sad that you cannot have your Sonic Merchandise all over the room, maybe you should send it all to me I'll keep it safe for you until you get out of the dorms. I actually don't have a lot of Sonic Merchandise at all I have some Robotnik pins, pogs and figures but that is it. I am not too keen on Sonic figure collecting. I just collect random things. Oh my God Blaire that Metal Sonic plush toy is so cute! But I bet they don't sell them any more and if they do the price will be super inflated. |

No, I'm pretty sure they don't sell that particular Metal Sonic anymore, except maybe somewhere on E-bay. |

The plushies seem very cheap, and the figure is a bit too plain and basic. Average material. |

Oh wow, Blaire, I didn't see those. See, now that's quality. Would totally buy those off you if I wasn't being so stingy right now. @Eileanach: Well, I don't have much to begin with; at least, you wouldn't think so, unless you were rooting around on my computer. Most of my Sonic stuff is in electronic form...images, videos, games, comics. I am collecting physical comics now, though, which don't need to be displayed proudly in order to be there. If my roomie turns out to be some jock (or worse, a video game Nazi ) I can simply keep them behind my comp or in my closet. And even if they are discovered, they're less of a nerd thing than plushies and action figures. tl;dr: You get NOTHING! You LOSE! Good day, sir!

Actually, I don't own any of those. I just found this picture on this website here: http://sonicgear.org/ And I agree, that is quality material. |

Oi Eighteen don't go all Willy Wonka on me. =( I have comics in digital form because collecting comics is something I cannot do. The most awesome paper based medium I own is my "The Acme Catalogue" and by gum it is epic! Ah Sonic Gear has a great Doctor Robotnik fleece that I really want but I doubt I could find it anywhere even if I wanted to. It can just be on my Wish List. Sonic needs better merchandise made with good decent material to make it stand the test of time. Damn lazy and cheap plushie makers! |

Oh, no. I just saw the Metal Sonic picture? And I'm sold. ^^; I really need to get that once it comes out. At least that'll expand my collection..and well, it'll just remind me that I'll never be able to go to the SEGA Sonic store in Japan. ;; But I can hope someday! Thanks for the heads up! ^^ |

They need to Make a Sonic statue, like, 6 inches high, using the Sonic Unleashed or Sonic Heroes design. Or an action figure that matches his design. How come I can never seem to find a Sonic plushie within my reach? (Yes, I have no Sonic plushies. D:) |
