That's like... a year from now! Eh... a racing game. Hopefully each character will be independently unique. (Example: Sonic races on foot, insert character races in a vehicle). Let us hope it isn't like Mario Kart, or it's older game Sonic Riders.

Nevertheless, that's a pretty awesome-looking trailer as should be expected from Sega, and I'll agree with Seris in that it's got a DKR feel which was a good thing. It was an addictive, quirky, and solid kart racer and I hope that this game will at least share in some of that spirit with it. In the meantime, I wonder how long it's going to take for someone to start moaning about why Sonic has to drive a car in a vehicle race. gets out stopwatch

I expect the majority of members to piss on anything that's directly or indirectly related to Sonic either in jest or in serious horror. xP Also, I have a prediction: Silver's going to be in this game in some form. His voice actor mentioned a collaboration that he'd done some voice work for but was unable to talk about. This is indeed a left-field collaboration, so unless the guy does any other Sega voices I reckon our favorite hedgehog will be along for the ride as well, pun partially intended. (And I suppose if Silver's in it, I reckon Shadow will be there too.)

At least thats what I think.

But with Pete practically revealing this game's existence as well as one of the Sumo Digital guys confirming a better roster-- Quote: Yes we've listened to the SST feedback - and I'm sure you'll be a lot happier with the character roster. Once we can talk about it that is. Be great fun to get back in the cockpit, and this looks interesting to say the least. Should at least hit par with Double Dash (nah, didn't like it). Still got beefs...Sonic's in yet another vehicle (I just can't get my head around it D: ) and Tails' plane looks less than airworthy, but it looks like it'll be solid. Tough to tell from a teaser. We'll see ^_^.

Yes, we know Sonic Riders was a failure, but Sonic on a hoverboard utilizes his speed (you control him). It was a good idea implemented into a horrible racing game. Sonic in a car is not so great an idea to me. Sonic can run FASTER than a car. Does that pertain to anyone? It just seems foolish to have Sonic be in a car when he can run faster than one. What is it: a race to try to be a snail? Because that is what is happening... Sonic is actually downgrading in speed by being in a vehicle (so long as it is a normal vehicle). A "pure" Sonic surfing or snowboarding game would be 10 times better if implemented correctly. I'm not saying this game is bad, it could still be good. I'm just saying that it looks like Sonic has a lack of speed utilizing a car.
