Wide-eyed, she lifted the window open and climbed out. With a burst of speed, Aurora ran toward where the hedgehog had once been. She had hoped the worst had not happened. And will she ran, the hedgehog's words filled her mind.

Nothing except a small red flower that had been wrapped carefully in a small cloth. Stitched into the side of the cloth were the initials "C & S." If Aurora chose to look around, she would find no mark left by lightening or blood. Except for the flower, nothing remained of the golden hedgehog, who had mysteriously vanished the instant the lightening struck him.

The wolf got down one knee and examined the area. She found naught splatters of blood and blackened ground, but the red flower. The Mobian carefully picked it up. "Wow, this is beautiful. I wonder what these intials mean, though," Aurora whispered to herself. The Mobian stood and headed back to the castle, the crimson flower still in her hands.

He rubbed his eyes and looked out the window. Seeing Aurora, he muttered, "That flower . . . it's a Love Blossum. Where did she get that, and who from? The Love Blossum is an Aidoorian flower . . . " He sighed and laid back down after looking at the open door to his room. "Ugh, I'm seeing things." he said as he closed his eyes. Sitting on his dresser was a red flower in a vase, and a white cloth lay next to it. Colby looked at the flower and fell asleep with it in his eyes and his wife in his mind. "Sakura . . . " he muttered as he turned in his bed.

Scratching his chest gently, he stood up. Walking over to the flower on his dresser, Colby said, "Yeah, I'm okay Aurora. I just miss my wife back home, Sakura. You see, she's pregnent with our first child." He smiled and gently lifted the flower from the vase. "This flower is part of a tradition with our religion. When two people are in love, they each grow one of these flowers, a Love Blossum. Once the blossum reaches maturity, the two give their flowers to the other and take care of them." He then lifted the cloth next to his vase as he put the flower back in it. "This cloth has our initials stitched into it so that people know who the flower belongs to." he explained, showing her the initials on his cloth. "According to legend, a truely prosperous marriage or relationship is symbolised by healthy Love Blossums."

An idea came to him, but he dismissed it as idiocy. "This is weird. I don't know any golden hedgehogs, and my flower is right here." he said. He sighed and returned to his bed. "Well, nothing will be accomplished by letting this keep us awake, eh? Go on and get some sleep. You can keep the flower if you want." Colby told Aurora as he laid down. Like his father, Colby was not affected by cold, so he didn't ever sleep with a blanket.
