Thank you for checking out Sonic Blast! We try to go above and beyond what is expected in a Sonic forum or any forum in general. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Sonic Blast sets itself apart with a genius ranking system that is modeled after a monarchy styled government based around the Sonic Universe, brilliant skins themed from Sonic based characters and classic Sonic Zones from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 on Sega Genesis, entertaining topics, contests, and a highly detailed, well written, indexed rule system for your convenience with many more thrilling features and over two years of being online!

Despite the monarchy styled ranks for our staff, Sonic Blast is a democratic forum and listens to member's suggestions, giving members a bigger say in what takes place. We are lenient and do not rule over people with an iron fist. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Post a "guide" or "tutorial" to whatever skill you feel that you can describe. Examples would be "How to shade properly," "How to edit your basic sprite," "How to make a custom sprite," "How to use GIMP to animate," "How to use layers effectively in photoshop," "How to create an interesting character," "Developing Plot in your fanfiction," "Is your character a god-mod? Here's how to know, and how to fix it:" etc. etc.

The purpose this section has three benefits.

First off, not everything that could ever be said about a topic can be pinned. For instance, in the realm of spriting, there are an almost infinite number of skills to perfect, and guides from those with an experience would be very useful. Also, all pinable topics are not necessarily pinned. This section provides a goldmine for admins looking for useful guides to associate with specific topics.

Second, it encourages the writing of such guides, which is in and of itself a useful skill. As anyone in education would tell you, being able to create a useful teaching tool is a practiced skill. Rhetoric and concise writing style, as well as a masterful use of imagery would be essential to writing a good guide. Therefore, not only will this collection of guides be very useful for those interested in the respective sections, but making them would improve the authors' skill in their respective field.

Third, and most obvious, guides are useful! Which is easier, to teach oneself to play the piano, or to have a collection of textbooks tell you how to play the piano? A guide-sub-forum would create a place where newb spriters/artists/writers/roleaplayers can see what exactly goes into their field, and how to do it well.

All posts here will be sorted alphabetically. Meaning a tutorial with the name "Apple Making" will be near the top while one named "Zetaboards theme creating" will be near the bottom.

I don't see why not. Go ahead. ;) This is Yvette's idea though so I'm sure tutorials on how to peel an orange would be ill-advised. :D

Just to add to the original post, here are some ground-rules

1. All guides must be serious. No "Spoof" guides allowed; romance guides and the like will be moved to the spam section if they are found here.

2. Tutorials may contain no inappropriate material of any sort. There are to be no naked women in the art tutorials ; ) Inappropriate material will be defined arbitrarily by me, and so if there's any doubt in anyone's mind about whether a guide is acceptable, it would be a good idea to run it by me before posting it.

3. All tutorials must be the poster's work. If anyone borrows any material from another site, you MUST have that source's permission (Unless they specifically state that permission is not required), and you MUST give that source full credit (Even if they don't require it).

As you know, all posts made in this section must be in strict accordance with the Board Rules found here.

Have fun!

GENTLEMEN.
Wait. And for the other guides in the forum, should those be moved or they'll be left where they are?
